Crystal Clear
The Price of LoveMark was welcomed by an unbearable heachache. It felt like his skull was being hammered repeatedly. Maybe, he did regret drinking so much. Though, it did relieve some of the stress he qas feeling earlier. It was also a little surprising to see, how his alcoholic tolerance increased.
Standing up or moving in anyway wasn't an option here. Not when Jinyoung had him trapped. The sleeping boy's arms were wrapped around his waist, and the light snores from the person hugging him sounded so relaxing. He didn't want to be rude and wake the other up.
But, what time was it? The lights were turned off, and he couldn't really see a thing. The moon light passing through the balcony door was the only light he could see. He had to leave. It was getting late.
"Jinyoung" He said in a whisper. The said person groaned, burrowing onto Mark's neck. He repeatedly woke up the boy. "I need to go, wake up."
The other finally released him. But, ended up facing the other direction. Jinyoung was still asleep. He sat up and reached for his phone. The light from the phone was a bit too bright. But, his eyes adjusted soon enough. It was thirty-five minutes after seven. But, what alarmed his wasn't the time, it were his phone notifications.
He got seven missed calls from a single person. The most recent one was ten minutes ago. He dialled the caller's number.
"Hey, Jackson-"
"Where are you? I've been trying to contact you. But, you weren't answering." The other exclaimed. He was taken aback a little. He was still feeling light headed, and Jackson's shouting wasn't helping at all.
"I'm at Jinyoung's." He said simply.
"I'll be there in fifteen minutes." The call ended, all too quickly. What just happened?
"Was that Jackson?" Jinyoung asked, finally waking up. The other's voice was a bit rapsy.
"Yeah..."
"What did he say?" Jinyoung stood up, turning the lights on.
"He said he was coming over to get me."
"You okay? You seem spaced out again." The other sat next to him, wrapping an arm around his shoulder.
"Just a little dizzy." Jinyoung chuckled, patting his head.
"That's your fault for drinking too much. Do you feel better?" He nodded. "That's good. But, what happened?"
"I was just feeling insecure. I'm not in the same social class, as to you guys."
"Okay, okay. Let's stop here."
"You're the one who asked, Junior." He teased, making the other boy roll those eyes of his.
"Come on. As much as I want to take you home, or beg you to sleep over. Jackson will be here soon."
Jinyoung took his hand, dragging him out of the room. As they walked down the stairs, he could hear a voice from the room downstairs. He glanced at the boy next to him, who seemed to notice it, too.
The voice was unfamiliar to him. But, it seemed Jinyoung perfectly knew who the person was.
"Mom?"
"Jinyoung dear, hello." She walked up to her son, giving the boy a kiss. "Good to see you, dear."
He couldn't help but observe the woman. So, this was Mrs. Park. She looked so young. Her hair was coifed up neatly. The clothes she wore were very simple. But, there was something about her that would make you realize she came froma rich family. Mr. Park was probably dashing, too. Good genes ran in their family.
"You're home"
"Only for a short while, dear. I have a business trip to Hongkong." He could see the disappointment in Jinyoung's face.
Maybe, Jinyoung was one of those people who came from rich families. But, their parents aren't home on a regular basis. It was sad. All this was for their son, but of course, their son missed them.
"Oh, I see."
"Who's your friend?"
"Ah, right. Sorry. This is Mark Tuan."
That was it? This is Mark Tuan. Not even an friendly endearment?
"Hello, Mark. It's nice to meet a new face. Though, I haven't been seeing Jackson much."
"He's been busy." The woman sighed dramatically.
"It's nice to see you making new friends." Yes, he was just a friend. Nothig more or less. "Though, I'm still waiting for the day you bring home a girl."
A girl.
That felt like a slap. Reality was slapping him again. Of course, the woman would've wanted for Jinyoung to get married to a nice woman. His insecurities were slowly getting to him again.
"Excuse me, ma'am. But, Sir Jinyoung has a visitor." The girl said. And soon, the guest appeared. It was perfect timing.
"Oh, Jackson. I was just looking for you."
"Hello, Mrs. Park. I came here to fetch Mark."
"I see. Well, I better get back to packing. It was nice seeing you, Jackson. And, it was nice meeting you, Mark."
"It was nice meeting you too, Ma'am. Thanks for accompanying me, Jinyoung." He gave a small smile.
"I'll walk you guys out." They went out of the room, making their way for the front door.
"Thanks again for today, Jinyoung." His lips twitched into a stiff smile. It was awkward.
"Mark, I'm sorry about my mom-"
"No need to apologize, Jinyoung. She's your mom. I understand, really." He smiled again, hoping it was convincing enough. He held onto Jackson's warm hand, and he was glad the person understood what he meant.
"We need to go, Jinyoung. It's gettig late. We'll see you at school."
Jackson assited him to the car, even opening a door for him. He sat in front, not daring to glace at Jinyoung, who was still by the front door. Like, the person was waiting for him. He was taken aback when a person suddenly leaned in. Though, it was for his seatbelt.
"Safety first" Jackson said, smiling at him. Soon, the car moved and drove away.
For the first few minutes, the vehicle was filled with awkward tension. He could see Jackso glancing, every noe and then. But, he wasn't really in the mood to talk, right now.
But, beig the naturally talkative one, Jackson broke the ice.
"So, what did you do at Jinyoung's?"
"Nothing, really. Just had a couple of cans."
"You drank?" He nodded slightly. "Why?"
He sighed, not wanting to talk about his dilemma. Especially, his insecurities. "Long story"
"I'm listening. We still have a long way to go."
"I had this talk with Min, earlier."
"And?"
"She didn't really say anything special. I just realized how far apart we are, on social classes." He let out a silent chuckle. "Don't mind me. I'm just being insecure here."
He heard Jackson heavily sigh, as if the person was tired of something. The car stopped next to the sidewalk.
"Mark, you need to stop this. Stop feeling sorry for yourself. I judged you, at first. But, that's all behind us now. We respect you and your family. Don't think that we like you out of pity. We like you, because
