Jessica tapped her fingers on her desk impatiently, frowning at her computer. She just couldn't figure out how to let her idea fall into place. Frustrated, she buried her face in her hands. It wasn't long before the vibration from her phone got her attention instead. Seeing Taeyeon's name on her phone, she couldn't help but to let out a small smile before she unlocked her phone to read the message.

The smile on Jessica's face only grew wider as she positioned her phone to take a photo for Taeyeon as well.

 

Still smiling, Jessica put her phone down, her mind already taken off the bothering problem from work. Expectedly, a reply came within a minute.

Jessica gasped at her blunder as her hand twitched, wanting to stop that message from being sent, but it was too late. The girl only stared at her phone with agape, hoping that Taeyeon would be oblivious enough to not find anything suspicious.

Jessica only laughed while she browsed through the photo gallery in her phone. She bit back a laugh when she sent the picture. 

Taeyeon on the other hand shook her head as she put her phone down, unable to hide the blissful grin which was plastered on her face. She always loved bickering with Jessica like that.

"I'll need this verified. Email me a copy when it's done." Taeyeon's eyes widened when she thought she heard a familiar voice. Kitty...? Her body stiffened, she turned towards the direction of the voice and was shocked to see a girl, probably younger than her, in dark skinny jeans and a checkered shirt tucked in at the front standing not too far away from her. Almost coincidentally, the girl turned and their eyes met. Taeyeon froze immediately at the cold aura the girl was emitting. However, when the girl smiled, Taeyeon found herself returning a shy smile while the girl took steps towards Taeyeon.

"Hi. You must be our new employee? Taeyeon right? I'm Krystal Jung." The girl named Krystal extended her hand as she smiled. Taeyeon took that hand and shook it.

"Yes. I'm Taeyeon! Could it be that you ar-"

"Yes, Blanc Group's little princess Krystal Jung," Sooyoung laughed as she joined in. Krystal only landed a smack on Sooyoung's arm and Taeyeon was surprised at how closed they look.

"I'm...well...sort of Blanc Group's little daughter. But I'm not a little princess," Krystal explained, her face showing obvious signs of embarrassment.

"Trust me. The two daughters of Blanc Group are both princesses. To be specific, ice princesses," Sooyoung teased yet again.

"Sooyoung unnie seriously stop that. I'm telling my sister," Krystal complained.

"She rarely comes here anyway. Tell her for all you want!" The taller girl stuck her tongue out while the younger one rolled her eyes.

"Hey, isn't that unnie?" Sooyoung's body stiffened at Krystal's words and she immediately turned to her computer, pretending that nothing had happened. Taeyeon, on the other hand, couldn't stop herself from turning to look at Krystal's sister. Indeed, Jessica stood outside their office, separated by the glass. Upon seeing Taeyeon, Jessica couldn't suppress a smile and once again, Taeyeon found something really familiar with the girl, but she couldn't pinpoint what. However, before she had the time to return the smile, Jessica gestured to Krystal to leave with her and Krystal quickly waved goodbye to the rest of the staff before she left the office.

"Hey," Sooyoung snapped her fingers in front of Taeyeon and the girl jumped as she returned to her senses. "What are you looking at? The princesses?"

Taeyeon only furrowed her eyebrows. "Are they really...princesses...?"

"Hmm, Soojung isn't really like that. I mean, she is, before you get to really meet her."

"Soojung...?"

"Oh sorry. Krystal. I got used to calling her by her Korean name. Well, Jessica... I'm not quite sure about her. She rarely talks to us to be honest. I used to think that she's really arrogant but Krystal told us again and again that her sister isn't like that. So I'm not sure."

"Ah..."

"Let me show you something," Sooyoung said as she started to browse her photo gallery. "I'm straight. But I actually think Jessica looks really hot. Here. See this."

Sooyoung showed Taeyeon a photo, and Taeyeon felt an indescribable feeling upon seeing that photo. "That's...her...?" Was it her beauty? Her eyes? Her lips? Or, was it something else? Taeyeon didn't know.

Jessica sat at the bar again one night, waiting for Yoona who was in the restroom. When she felt a hand snaking down her slender arm, she grabbed that hand almost immediately and pulled it away from her arm.

"I came all the way here just for you Kitty. Come on. Don't be a tease."

"I'm taken," Jessica quickly explained.

"What? Kitty is never taken. Stop try'na fool me. Come on!" Jessica was just starting to get impatient when a huge, toned arm landed on that guy's shoulder and he started squirming as that hand tightened its grip on his shoulder.

"Ouch what the ?!"

"Get lost. Don't touch Kitty," Siwon warned.

"Like I give a damn about y-"

Screeches from chairs being pushed could be heard and the man shut up almost immediately when more than just a group of guys stood up and glared at him with threatening eyes.

"You mess with Kitty, you mess with us," Doojoon said took a few steps towards Jessica.

"And I'll break whichever arm you used to touch her." Jessica's eyes widened when Yongguk appeared from the crowd. For a split second, she could feel something stuck in as warm tears welled up in her eyes.

"The fuc-"

"Problem?" Jihoon too took a step forward and the man found himself scrambling for his life. Jessica's eyes followed the man, and then back to the group of guys.

"We got your back," Doojoon winked and Jessica found herself laughing even though the tears were still in her eyes.

"Woah. Did I miss anything?" Yoona's voice managed to get everyone's attention.

"Nothing much. Just a regular day with Kitty and her boys," Siwon joked, before he turned to Jessica and gently planted a kiss on her forehead. "Be who you want to be." When Jessica returned a smile, Siwon nodded charismatically before he and the boys left Jessica with Yoona.

"Do you finally get how charming you are, my dear Kitty?" Yoona smiled as she skillfully pushed a glass of Cosmopolitan to Jessica. The older girl only kept silent while she sipped the alcohol. "Are you...really with that girl?" Yoona's sudden question only made Jessica stop drinking and look at her instead.

After much hesitation, Jessica sadly replied, "Can I...?"

A similarly sad expression took over in Yoona's eyes. "If you want to hear something nice, then, I would ask you to go for what you want."

"So...if I don't want to hear something nice?"

"Then..." Yoona took in a breath before she continued. "I think, that girl is a nice girl. It's not that you aren't nice, unnie. You're great. But there are too many things that you have to consider. Just because...you're...you. Things didn't go well the other time... And I don't wish to see another person hurt because...you know..."

Jessica knew exactly what Yoona was trying to get at. She knew very well too, that Yoona was genuinely being concerned. She had hurt Yuri as much as she had hurt herself. Some things just don't happen no matter how much you work for it. Maybe, Taeyeon was just another Yuri. Tears were beginning to fill her eyes again. "Can't I...love...?" Jessica's shaky voice only got Yoona to take quick steps out of the counter and to her side instead. "Can't I just love...?" The first stream of tears rolled down Jessica's cheek, and Yoona instinctively pulled Jessica into her embrace as she patted her back. It was unfair. Yoona knew how unfair it was, just because she was Jessica Jung.

Taeyeon stretched her arms and cracked her neck after a long day of work. She began packing and was about to leave when she received a message.

Leaving her things, Taeyeon quickly made her way down to the carpark.

Five minutes later, Secretary Han's car made a turn into the carpark and she managed to pass the document to Taeyeon. "Just leave it on Miss Jung's desk. You know where is her office right? She needs the document by tomorrow and I won't be in so...yeah. Sorry for the trouble!"

"Don't worry about it! Go for your meeting now then! I'll bring this to her."

Secretary Han smiled as she drove off. Taeyeon, on the other hand, was about to head back up to the office when the corner of eyes caught sight of a familiar white car. She couldn't help but to turn to look, and she found the car surprisingly similar to the car that Kitty borrowed her friend not too long ago. She thought about it for a while, but she shook those thoughts off. Kitty can't be here. She almost laughed at herself. She turned to make her way to the lift lobby when someone moving somehow caught her attention yet again. Her eyes widened in surprise when she saw Jessica unlocking that exact white car with her remote control before taking a step into the car.

Taeyeon only kept staring as she stood there, until she remembered the document in her hand that she was supposed to pass to Jessica. "Oh ! Hey- Ah..." She internally cursed herself for being so absent-minded when she could have just passed the document to her.

It was only a moment after, when the scene of Jessica entering that car started replaying itself in Taeyeon's mind. All of a sudden, an uneasy feeling took over and Taeyeon couldn't explain it at all. 0922. Why does it feel so familiar...? In fact, too familiar?

[A/N] 26/9/2014

So, hello. I had TaengSone adorably leaving a comment asking if an update will be up today. Well, here it is. :) This week has been hell for me. I was so caught up with school work. In fact, just a few hours ago, I was burying myself in work. School's finally out for me this week, so it's time to quickly write this update, even though I swear I am falling asleep... I'm gonna reply to comments for chapter 10 in a while, hopefully. I hope you'll enjoy this chapter and then write me something, okay? :)

And, yes. Careless Jessica is gonna land herself in trouble soon if she keeps letting Taeyeon find out weird things about her. Also, did you miss out specifically how careless Jessica was when she sent Taeyeon a selca and then pay a visit to Taeyeon's office after that? If Taeyeon was observant enough, she would have noticed that both Jessica and Kitty were wearing the same clothes. The thing is, did she notice? What do you think? ;)

Of course, text messages are my favourite! Hahahaha. I swear my favourite part of writing stories like this is writing their silly text messages. And, 0922. Do you know what I was tryna tell you? ^^
