Walking to the public gym gave some time to think to myself. ‘Okay, I know that I said that I didn’t want anything to do with Kris anymore, but I can’t help myself. The man drives me insane.’ Within minutes I made it to the gym. ‘Maybe I should turn around now before it’s too late.’ Turning around my face came into contact with a very firm chest. Looking up into brown eyes and a gummy smile, I thought to myself, ‘Too late’. “Hi there,” I smiled.

“Well hello. I didn’t think that I would find you here.”

“Well I’m full of surprises.”

“You sure are.” Walking pass me he open the door and held it open for me. “After you.” Walking in I took a quick look around as Kris sign us in. “So do you come here often?”

“Hitting on me already?”

With a chuckle he corrected himself, “No, I meant do you go to the gym often? You know, to exercise? Workout?”

Putting our bags away into some rental lockers we got our necessities and moved to stretch first. “Um, no not really. I just woke up this morning and thought to myself, ‘Why not do something with myself today?’ So here I am.”

“Why don’t I seem to believe you then?” he asks as he quirked his eyebrows up.

“That’s for me to know, and for you to find out.” Making our way over to the treadmills.

“Ah, you and your secrets again. Don’t you ever trust me?” he asks playfully.

It didn’t seem that playful to me. It actually hit me hard in the gut. Zoning out I didn’t notice myself mumbling, “I actually don’t really trust myself more than anything else.”

“What?”

“Oh. Uh, nothing. Just thinking to myself.” We continued on with our workout until we decided to end it for the day.

“Well I’m gonna hit the showers,” he said as he wiped his sweat.

“What about me?”

“Well you did nothing but followed me around. Not that I mind or anything.” With a wink he left to the showers and left me all flustered. Walking to my locker I took out my bag and turn to the waiting area. It seems that today wasn’t my day as my face, once again, collided with another chest. Looking up at the stranger, I was greeted with a familiar face.

“Oh, I didn’t think I would find you here,” he said with a seductive smile.

“And you would be?”

“Don’t you remember me? Your new neighbor? Ok Taecyeon?”

Hearing his name I was reminded of yesterday’s encounter. “Oh right now I remember.”

“Good to know that you remembered. I never got your name by the way.”

“That’s because I didn’t give it.”

“Well can I have it?” he asks as he backs me up into the lockers.

“Will you leave me alone if I do,” I said through gritted teeth. ‘Man where is my savior when I need him?’

“Maybe,” he said with a smirk.

“Fine, it’s Kim Jongdae. You happy?”

“More than you know.” With a final look he finally left. As he was leaving, I collected some of his energy enough for my plan.

“Ostendo futurum.” Everything turned white for a while before it clear enough to make out someone slipping on an engagement ring onto someone else. That would’ve been normal if it wasn’t for the sudden emotions mixing around.  Before it could continue, I felt someone shaking me.

“Chen? Chen. Come on wake up.” Shaking out of my thoughts I look up to see a very concern Kris holding me by my shoulders. “Are you ok?” He ask as I tried to regain my balance.

“Huh, oh, yeah I’m… I’m fine. Um how long have you been standing there?”

“Not long. It’s just that when I came out of the showers, I saw you just standing there looking dazed. You look like you weren’t even here. Are you sure you’re okay?”

“Yeah I’m fine. Let’s just go before I do it again.” As we left I took a look back, and I saw that Taecyeon guy staring at me with the same look when we first met. ‘Strange.’

As we were walking in silence I couldn’t help but stare at Kris from time to time. He still looks the same. Well maybe minus his blond hair; it looks better than the brown hair. It makes him unique. I guess my staring didn’t go unnoticed though as he look up at me and smile at me. Looking back down I tried my best to hide my blush.

“You know you’re still cute if that’s what you are trying to prove.”

Blushing even more I shoved him while saying “Shut up.”

“You are. I can’t lie to you.” With that we continue on our journey until we stumbled upon a park. We continued until Kris suddenly pulls me to a stop. Looking up he pointed at an ice-cream cart. “Want some? My treat.” With a nod we walk over and got one vanilla for me and one chocolate for him.

Sitting down we got into another comfortable silent until he broke it for the third time. “You know I can’t take this.”

“What do you mean?”

“I mean I can’t just be friends with you anymore.” Pushing his finger through his hair he continued, “You break up with me, and then you leave. You cut off any connections with me. Do you know why I came to Korea?”

‘I think I know the answer,’ I thought.

“I came here for you. I couldn’t get you out of my mind. I wanted to find you. I wanted to make you mine. Again.”

“Kris you remember what I said, right? I’m too-”

“-Complicated. Yeah, I remember. It’s just that everything came so easy to me. But you, you were a challenge. You gave me a reason to chase for something I want. You just make me so crazy. All that I’m asking for is for you to take me back.”

Looking into his eyes I couldn’t help but reply him back with a hesitant nod. Seeing his smile I knew I made the right choice. He then pull me into a hug, ice-creams long forgotten. Burying his face into my hair, he mumbled, “Thank you so much. You won’t regret it.”

‘I hope I don’t either.’

“Hey to make up for lost time for lost time, why don’t I take you on a date?”

“To where?”

“Well my parents came here to display an artifact that they recently discovered during a climb in the Himalayas. They will displaying it at the National Seoul Museum.”

“Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. So you’re telling me that’s why you came here?”

“No, I came here with them, not for them. I came here for you.”

“Well good thing I like you, or else you wouldn’t be living right now.” Looking down at me watch I saw that it’s almost time for dinner. “Well I got to go.”

“Really, so soon?”

“Now, now Kris, we spent most of our morning together. I need to go now.”

“But-”

“No buts. But I do hope to see you soon.” Walking away I didn’t stop as I yelled text me soon.

“What do you me-”

“Check your phone.” With another hand gesture I waited for his reaction. It didn’t take long for him to yell in surprise.

“WHAT THE ?!?!”

----

Hearing the front door close I waited for Jaeseop hyung to come into the living room where I’m at. Heaving a sigh I spread the cards one more time before putting them back in the deck and reshuffle.

Walking into the room Jaeseop ask confusedly, “What are you doing?”

Looking up at him I replied, “I’m reading the cards.”

“Why?”

“Okay, sit down. You might want to be sitting for this.” As he sat down I pour his a glass of wine and refilled my cup. After settling down I told him. “Okay I’ve been holding something for the past week now, and I don’t know how long I can keep it in anymore.”

“What is it?”

“I think we are in trouble.”

“What do you mean? I mean how is that even possible?”

“I don’t know. All I know is that up until recently I’ve been having frequent visions lately. All the same: a light, a dragon, and a shadow.”

“Anything else.”

“Nothing.”

“Okay so what about the cards? What do they say?” he ask as he sip his wine.

“Well,” picking up the deck I place them accordingly: the first in the center, the second across from the first, the third on the right, fourth at the bottom, fifth on top, and the sixth on the left. “Okay, so the first card is us, the Magician. Next is this card, the Five of Swords. I believe that it symbolizes deception, a traitor because look at this one.” I pointed to the bottom card, the Devil.

“I think this guy means somebody is coming back, reunited by a lust for dark. I also think that it came from this lucky lady.” I said as I tap at the Empress card.

“Mom,” he said intensely.

“Exactly,” I nodded in confirmation. Finishing my wine I pointed at the top card, the Two of Swords. “The decision though is ours. But I can’t say it’s good.” The last card, the Hermit. “The last card is the reason to our unfortunate decision.” He knew I was right, the Hermit, in our case, meant that the future is unclear. Whatever it is will reveal itself when the time comes.

Looking into his eyes I blurted out, “Hyung, I’m scared.”

Getting up and sitting next to me, he hug me to comfort me. “Hey it’s going to be okay.”

“But what about mom? What if she does come back? And what about Minjun?”

“Don’t worry. We’ll protect each other when the times come. And let’s not talk about him okay. We only have each other.”

“Alright.” Looking back at the cards, I said, “I wish all this wouldn’t have happen.”

“You and me both kid.”

Without another word, we both fell asleep on the couch, trying not to think of anything else.

End of Jongdae POV

Just on the in the middle of town, two hooded strangers stood in front of a water fountain. One was concentrated on an incantation, while the other was sitting down while tapping his foot impatiently.

“Is it done yet?” a man ask irritably.

“Not yet. Can you just shut up and wait until I give you the signal?” another man whispered. Closing his eyes, he continued his chanting, “Mysticum aquam, da mihi clavem. Ostende mihi clavem. Ostende mihi clavem…” Soon the water started to ripple until an image of a dragon-like key finally appears. It didn’t last long as it disappears soon after it appeared, like it was protected by something. “Damn.”

“What now?”

“Well you can tell the queen that it’s still being protected. But not for long.”

“Alright but I don’t think that she’ll be happy with that.”

“Just tell her we need more time!” he yelled.

“Alright, alright,” he said as he walk away.

Looking down at an engraved ring, he said, “Soon my dear. Soon.”

Author's Note: So it took me almost all day to write this so I hope that it's okay. I also have been listening to this new group, and they inspired me to add them into the story. Their name is Legend, and their song is called Left Out, and I hope you like them. Now I'm just babbling.

P.S.: I can't really read tarot cards so all that was basically my interpretation of it. Don't judge me.
