Sungjong had been so angry at the police when they told him that it was not possible to ask for records of Yonghwa’s phone.

“You must understand Mr. Lee – though we are police – we cannot just violate a person’s privacy by checking on his phone records.” The detective patiently explained to him for what was probably the 4th time.

“But everyone sees it all the time –“Sungjong replies.

“Mr. Lee – too many American police series –real police- can’t just do that.” The detective was tired. “We need a valid reason and her being a fan of CNBlue is not a valid reason.”

This was the time that Sungjong sought the help of Sungkyu. 

“Just because I work for Narcotics doesn’t mean that I can just ask for someone’s phone records. And from what you’ve told me – this guy is famous. Do you know how hard it would be explain the request?” Sungkyu looked at Nana’s friend as if he lost his mind.

 “Please if the information came from you I’d believe it, her parents would believe that he’s not in any way connected to Nana.” Sungjong pleaded.

“And you two? What is your connection?” Sungkyu eyed the 2 young men that came with Sungjong. “No – don’t tell me – boyfriend? Suitors?”

“They both courted Nana.” Sungjong answered. “Look please what can I do to make you help us?”

“Stop coming to my apartment.  Bad enough that I had to calm down a lot of our tenants. I’ll tell you what I find and you can all stop bothering me.  That includes trying to go inside Nana’s apartment. I have been assured by the team that there was no phone. I believe them so you have to believe them.” Sungkyu glared at them.

“We’re cleaning out the apartment by next week.” Sungjong informed him.

“That’s fine take your time. I know you and her mother will be highly emotional that day. Now I need to sleep.  I will put in a request – I don’t know when they can get on it but I will let you know.”

Sungkyu was right when he said that packing up Nana’a apartment would be hard. Sungjong and Nana’s mother had to stop several times to cry and embrace each other. It was heart breaking packing her stuff.  By the time they finished Sungjong had a lot of CNBlue stuff that he fully intended to burn after putting her clothes and some of her personal belongings in his house.

It was another 3 weeks before Sungkyu called him.  They met at the café near Sungkyu’s building. He came with Sungyeol and Woohyun.

“Now – I had close friend do this for me and I’ve full confidence that she did her best.  These are records for 3 years.  I can’t tell whose numbers are there. That’s a violation on privacy. But I can tell you that his phone does not have Nana’s number.  The other number – his Manager’ – also did not have her number.”
