TEN
FACADE{ T E N }
(Christmas Eve - Twelve Years Ago)
"Are you sure we're allowed to be in here?" Tiffany asked.
"No."
"Yuri!"
She giggled. "Kidding."
"Stop playing with me!" she pouted.
"Alright alright I'm sorry!" Yuri laughed. "Don't worry it's Christmas and everyone's busy. No one will find us here."
"So you're actually confirming that we are not allowed to be here." Tiffany sighed and went straight inside the public tree house that was temporarily shut down due to the holidays.
"No one really comes here except for us, remember?" Yuri said. "Come on let's go, it's too noisy down there." Yuri said as she followed Tiffany inside.
Both of them sat by the window that gives a direct view of the night sky. The sky was full of stars that twinkle along with the Christmas lights in the city. The weather was usually cold, specially that it's winter. The noise was faint due to the distance of the tree from the city's party.
"Are you guys sneaking out again?"
"What the hell are you doing here?" Yuri snickered.
"What do you mean. I hang out here as well. Pfft." he rolled his eyes.
"You are such a diva." Tiffany laughed. "Now come here and join with us."
"How nice of you Tiffany. It's a rare moment that you're here with us this Christmas. I really appreciate your existence."
"Shut up brat." Yuri said.
"Will you two stop bickering, dear it's Christmas." Tiffany sighed.
...
Yuri woke up with a fuzzy feeling. Her head feels lighter and she certainly feels better as well. Her eyes remained closed, thinking about all the things that happened last night.
Damn, Yuri. What have you done again? I shouldn't really go to school when I feel sick. She sighed.
Yuri felt her bed slightly moving and it made her heart beat faster. She could also detect the scent of fresh eggs and bacon.
Food.
Yuri opened her eyes and found a tray of food for breakfast beside her.
American breakfast. Dang.
Yuri looked around and looked for the person who was responsible of doing this. Where did he go? She heard footsteps downstairs that are fastly approaching upstairs. Yuri waited for a few seconds before calling out. "Lu--!"
"Expecting someone else dear?" she smirked.
Oh. He left.
"I can see you're dissapointed Yuri."
"No, I'm not. Why are you here."
"Well, you can see Luhan called me. Not actually him, he used your phone, so it feels like you called me. But still it was him who called me. But you know it kinda feels like it was still you cause ---"
"Hey hey hey okay okay I get it."
"Oh oops sorry." she said inching closer to her. "Here's your hot chocolate by the way."
Yuri reached out to grab the cup and took a sip from it. How the hell.
"You did it just the way I want it. How did you?" Yuri asked.
"Well apparently, I found a note on the fridge about the exact measurement of your hot chocolate. I think Luhan wrote it."
"So.... How did he know?" Yuri said with a raised eyebrow.
"I don't know you tell me." she said and checked her phone. "Look, I'm sorry I have to go. It seems that you're a lot better right now, I checked your temperature an hour ago and it's already back to normal." she smiled. "Please take care of yourself, you're living alone. If Luhan hadn't called me who would take care of you the way I did?" she sighed. "And you can skip the meeting and preparations later if you want to. I'll let the other officers know." she said grabbing her bag as she walks out of Yuri's room.
"Tiffany!" Yuri called out. "Thank you." she smiled.
Tiffany turned around and smiled at her. "No worries."
...
Yuri walked inside her classroom with a better aura than yesterday. She wore black jeans that matches with her white top and a cardigan which is black as well. Her hair was tied up in a bun with her bangs messily curled down on the sides of her face. She only wore light make up as usual, not wanting to waste time on applying on those products. She doesn't know why there was a sudden burst of energy inside of her this day but she feels to be like this, although it wasn't the usual her.
She sat on her seat and placed her bag behind her. But before that, she grabbed her journal and a pen. Yuri wasn't supposed to write in her journal at school but since she doesn't have anything to do at the moment (and to avoid making contact with anyone that she's not ready to talk to yet, like someone name Luhan.) she decided to write a few paragraphs of her feelings that week.
After a few minutes, their proffessor arrived. Yuri fixed herself and brought her journal back to her bag. She looked around and found no sign of Luhan. Where is he? She wondered. Should I say thank you? Ofcourse I should say thank you, but where is he?
Being oblivious Yuri didn't see Luhan slipping behind her, taking a seat. He was late, but apparently he was lucky enough to be not noticed by anyone, even by the girl infront of him.
