Drable 24: Brothers

Luhan lay quietly as the golden rays of sunlight washed over his body. He reached up and placed his palms in the air, contrasting with the blue sky showing through the window at his feet.

A soft knock sounded on his door. “Luhan? Mom made pancakes…”

“I’m coming, Junmyeon.”

There was the sound of Junmyeon padding back down the hallway, and Luhan rolled his eyes. Honestly, Junmyeon was so frightened of everything, even though he’d been living in the house for six months already. Their parents had adopted Junmyeon, who was two years younger than Luhan. He’d taken a real shine to his adoptive parents, but he still trembled like a frightened rabbit any time Luhan came close by.

But it wouldn’t do to keep his mother waiting too long. Luhan sighed and put his hands down, admiring the clear blue sky for a few moments before swinging his legs out of bed and grabbing a shirt to pull over his head. He wondered why Junmyeon was so scared of him; could it be that he was afraid that Luhan didn’t like him? But that was impossible! Luhan went out of his way to be nice to Junmyeon and to hang out with him, even when Junmyeon shied away.

Luhan shook his head and pulled on a pair of shorts before stumbling out into the hallway and heading down to the kitchen. Kim Junmyeon was a mystery to him, even though they’d been living under the same roof, and going to the same school for months.
