Chapter 39: Goodbye

"So.. Kris loved you all along?!"Kourin exclaimed. "That's so.. omo, that's so sweet... !but...you both love each other so much. I'm sure god won't be so evil to have him die... have faith, Dasom.."Kourin tried to cheer Dasom up, though she didn't believe her own words herself. Unless there was some sort of a miracle, Kris won't be able to survive this.
Dasom forced a smile."Thanks" "All right.. i'll be going then" Kourin said after visiting Kris. As she was walking down the hallway, Kourin heard a familiar tune.
It was the tune of her favourite childhood song. Her mother used to play that to her, but ever since she left, she hated it. The song was emmitting from a room nearby.
She looked into the rooms, hoping to find out where the source was coming from. Then she saw it. In one particular room, a frail looking old woman was playing her favourite song on a harmonica. Kourin remained there outside until the song finished.Memories rushed back, and she felt a longing for her mother again. She sighed, about to leave when the woman looked up and saw her standing there.
"Hey, why are you standing out there? Come in?”The woman asked. She looked probably in her 70s.
Kourin stood frozen in the spot, not knowing if she should enter. What should she say? She must have been weird to stand out there. She pushed the door open and entered."Um..that was my favourite childhood song, i'm sorry if i was acting weird by standing out there.."She told the woman.
The woman just smiled at Kourin."Sit here,"she patted the side of her bed as Kourin obediently turned to sit. "Can you.. stay with me for a while?" Kourin nodded. She didn't want to let her down, and she must've been rather lonely and bored by herself.
"You know.. i had a daughter, too.This was her favourite childhood song.. but when she was 9.. i never saw her again. I miss her. All i ever want now is to just be able to see her for the last time.."Her voice trailed off. "What happened?"Kourin asked. The woman sighe
