Love Her and Keep Her

“You said that I can call you whenever and that you will always answer.” Sarang stepped forward and Hanbin turned around to look at her. “Have you been ignoring them?” Sarang would be lying if she didn’t say she was disappointed. She expected her calls to be answered but they all failed to reach him.

Hanbin was a bit taken back by Sarang’s appearance. He didn’t think she would show up here just because he hadn’t answered any of her calls. He had too many thoughts running through his mind and he needed some time alone to clear them up. So, he had ignored the calls. “I’m sorry. I already broke the promise, right?”

He readily told her that he would always answer whenever she needed him but the promise didn’t even last two days before he broke it.

“Did you try to avoid me this morning too?” Sarang ignored his question and asked her own. She stared at him blankly and waited for his answer.

“Not purposely.” Hanbin only wanted to get out of there, he didn’t mean to avoid her.

“I’ve told you before, didn’t I? If there is a small change in a routine, I will notice it. No matter how insignificant. I’ve said that, right?” Sarang started again. She didn’t want it to sound like she was hurt, but she was and her injured feelings suddenly took over. “I noticed how you didn’t want to talk to me this morning and I knew something was up when you didn’t pick up my phone calls.” She should have seen something was wrong when it was Bobby that waited for her this morning. But, she didn’t doubt Hanbin so she didn’t think too much into it.

How bad is he? He didn’t want to hurt her and here he was, doing the very thing. “I’m sorry, Sarang.” He didn’t want her to look like that anymore, how injured she looked made him want to kick himself.

Sarang pushed away her feelings for a second because it wasn’t the time for that. She came with a goal – there was something she wanted to clear up before anything. “Mino told me something.”

Hanbin looked up and gave her his full attention.

Sarang didn’t know if she should say it or not. If it wasn’t true, she would look like such a fool so she decided to stall before the real question. “Hanbin, do you love Jayoung?”

“Huh?” Hanbin blinked in surprise. “My seatmate?” Hanbin chuckled softly. Sarang really is oblivious. The entire time she thought he loves another girl. “No, I don’t.” Hanbin turned back and looked at Sarang. “Why don’t you ask me the real question that Mino brought up?” He gave her a soft smile, already having a clue on what she wanted to ask.

Hanbin’s answer to her previous question provided a slight relief but again, she brushed it off. “Hanbin, do you – do you like me?” She hesitated on asking.

Hanbin shook his head. “No.” Sarang looked at him in surprise. He noticed the flush in her cheeks and continued. “Like – no, love – yes.” This was the first time in a while since declaring his love for her but if she wanted his love then he was going to make sure his love for her was clear enough for her to see.

Chapter 29: Although it takes almost a divorce for Hanbin to realise his mistake, I hope I can find someone who will try his hardest for me just like Hanbin huhuhu.
Present Sarang might be confused because Hanbin seemed like he changed overnight, but us knowing what he went through and the difficult he overcame then seeing his changing self, it makes me teary eyed.
It was so hard for him to even say that he missed her, but then he became so outspoken that my poor heart couldn’t take it lol.
Really, communication is the key to all relationships.
Once again, thanks for the amazing story! I might drop by the Jinhwan spin-off soon.
(Is there any of your story I haven’t read yet?)
