Hanbin ignored the calls that ordered him to come back. He rushed without much thought deeper into the woods. All he was thinking about was Sarang and whether or not she was hurt. He couldn’t stand thinking if she was crying somewhere in the woods by herself.

“Sarang!” Hanbin yelled out loudly, he continued running when he doesn’t hear a response. The rain came down harder and Hanbin hastily puts on the rain jacket. With the sky getting darker, it was already hard to see and with the rain, it only made it worse.

The further he went into the woods, the more he was starting to notice the paths getting grassier and the red sticks were starting to disappear. He pulled up some sticks to carry with him, occasionally sticking them into the ground to prevent himself from getting lost.

“Sarang!” Fear was quickly spreading within his body the longer it took to find Sarang. The sky was getting darker by the minute and it’ll get harder for Hanbin to find his way through the woods with no light.

There were some rustling noises and Hanbin stopped to listen to them.

He heard a sneeze and snapped his head to the side. “Sarang!” He walked in the direction he heard the noise. “Sarang!”

“I’m here!” The voice was like music to his ears. All at once, a sense of relief washed over him.

Hanbin rushed up the trail and slipped from the rain. He planted his hands on the ground to prevent him from falling flat on the ground. Quickly straightening up, he continued on his way. He squinted his eyes to see through the rain and he breathed out when he saw a small figure. A body was leaning against a tree, shaking from the coldness.

He ran over and kneeled before her.

“Hanbin?” Sarang looked up in surprise at the person in front of her. She wasn’t sure if this was real or not. She was so scared and she kept pleading for someone to find her quickly and someone did. What made her more relieved was that it was Hanbin. “You found me.”

“Of course I did.” Hanbin answered and scanned her legs and arms to see if she was hurt. He noticed a large scrap on her knees but that was about it.

She shivered. “How did – “

Hanbin grabbed her hands. “Are you cold?” He held her frozen hands in his warm ones. He rubbed it frantically and blew hot air into her hands to get some warmth back into them. Sarang was drenched and Hanbin pulled off his rain jacket and helped her wear it, preventing her from getting pelted by the rain. “Put this on, you’re going to get sick.”

“What about you?”

“I’ll be fine.” Hanbin helped her put her hands through the sleeves and pulled the hood over her head. “Are you hurt anywhere?”

Sarang looked down at the bloody cut on her knee. “No, not really.” She had fallen earlier when her foot slipped from the rain but it wasn’t anything serious.

“Can you stand up?” Hanbin held her arms to help her up onto her feet.

It wasn’t the time for it but Sarang couldn’t help but stare at Hanbin in awe. He always seems to show up whenever she needed help and she didn’t know how he did that.

Hanbin held onto her hand tightly and led her down the trail. His clothes were all wet from the continuous rain. He only had on a t-shirt but he willingly handed her his jacket.

“Hanbin, are you cold?” Sarang followed after him down the trail.

“No.” He looked back at her. “Are you okay?” His hair was dripping wet but he didn’t show any signs of being cold or bothered.

“I’m fine.”

“Does your knee hurt?”

Sarang shook her head. How could she complain about her knee when Hanbin was having a rougher time than her?

The longer they stayed out in the rain, the colder Sarang got despite the jacket. Her teeth started to chatter and Hanbin must have heard it. He pulled her beside him and held her waist with his arm.

“We’re almost there.” He said softly. Sarang immediately feels the sudden warmth coming from Hanbin. She was so scared a minute ago but now that she was with Hanbin, that feeling had started to diminish.

“Thank you, Hanbin, for looking for me.”

Hanbin looked down at Sarang. Even though she was safe with him, he couldn’t help but feel terrible that she had gotten lost in the first place. “I would do more than just look for you.”

Sarang’s heart hammered against her chest. She didn’t know the meaning of his words but they made her feel pleasant and loved. She shook her head at the thought, he couldn’t possibly hold any feelings for her.

“If I could, I would rather be cold and with the bloody knee instead of you.” Even though he was suffering from the rain and cold, he still managed to send her a comforting smile.

Sarang couldn’t understand why someone like Hanbin would go as far as this for her. They weren’t anything but friends. Yet, she couldn’t deny how happy she was when she heard those words. Mino wouldn’t ever say such sweet things to her. Instead, he would probably scold her for getting lost in the first place.

But ever since Hanbin found her, he never implied it was her fault for her carelessness. He had only been worried about her well-bein

Chapter 29: Although it takes almost a divorce for Hanbin to realise his mistake, I hope I can find someone who will try his hardest for me just like Hanbin huhuhu.
Present Sarang might be confused because Hanbin seemed like he changed overnight, but us knowing what he went through and the difficult he overcame then seeing his changing self, it makes me teary eyed.
It was so hard for him to even say that he missed her, but then he became so outspoken that my poor heart couldn’t take it lol.
Really, communication is the key to all relationships.
Once again, thanks for the amazing story! I might drop by the Jinhwan spin-off soon.
(Is there any of your story I haven’t read yet?)
