I LOVE YOU TOO CHAPTER 40

I Love You Too

CHAPTER 40

Right after the wedding, Yesung took Ryeowook straight towards the honeymoon. Sungmin sent them off at the airport with proud smile. After that, she went home together with her parents and spends more time with them instead. The only absent-minded one is Eunhyuk, who seems to be in deep thought. When his wife ask, he just shrug her off by saying he’s okay. Truthfully, he is hiding something from everyone. And for the mean time, he really didn’t want anyone else to know about it yet.

A day after, everyone life moves on as usual. Sungjin also has to go back to his school again. But, the difference this time is, there are only two people waiting at the airport not three like they usually are.

“Where’s Amber?” asked Sungjin again for the nth time to Henry.

Sungjin shrugged blankly. He and Henry now have been waiting for the said girl for an hour at the airport. They’re supposed to meet up for their flight back to school together. Even her ticket is with Henry but after an hour of waiting, her presence is still unknown. Henry tried to call her many times, but failed. The time for the departure is also almost on time, so they are worried about her whereabouts.

“I can’t reach her. Do you think there’s something bad has happened to her?” he asked back, obviously worry about the girl.

Sungjin denied, shaking his head.

“I haven’t heard anything about her ever since Ryeowook unnie’s wedding. You?”

“Me neither.”

They sighed. A ring was heard and announcement was made for every passenger to be prepared for the departure.

“What do you want to do now?” Sungjin asked again, since he knows that Henry will never leave without Amber.

“I…” suddenly his phone rings.

He frowned seeing the unknown number appeared, but he answered it nonetheless.

“Hello?”

“Hen?”

“Amber?!” Both he and Sungjin immediately alarmed.

“Where are you? We are…”

“Hen…” Amber whines from the other side, scared the boy even more.

“What’s wrong Amber? Where are you now?”

A sniff was heard from her, “I’m at the hostel now.”

“Eh? Hostel?”

“My daddy bought another plane ticket and sent me here yesterday. He confiscated my phone and everything and warned me to never make a contact with you or Sungjin anymore.” Amber complained, sounds so devastated, “He…he…he even hire bodyguard to keep an eye of me here.”

“What?” Henry was sure shocked by the information.

“I don’t understand why daddy acting this way. He’s never like that. I ask him but he got angry at me more. Why is it happen to me? This is so unfair…” Henry could almost picture crying Amber by the voice and it saddened him.

Henry frowned hard thinking for what to say but, just before he said anything, Amber talked again, “Ah, Hen. I gotta go. I…can’t talk long. Someone is watching me.” She said, eyeing carefully her surroundings.

“Someone? Are you okay then?” Henry was worried once more.

Amber hummed, “I’m fine.” She assured him.

The boy let out a faint sight, “It’s okay as long as you’re fine. Just rest for now. Me and Sungjin will meet you there. Anyhow and anyway. We’ll think of something.” He determined and promised.

Amber hummed again. She is a bit relieved now that she is able to talk to her love. They ended the call and Henry explained to Sungjin what has just been told to him by the girl. Obviously, Sungjin is confused. Why on earth would Amber’s father suddenly prevent them from meeting with each other? They were together ever since the first year, so, what’s with the sudden change now?

They think of a plan together to be able to have a contact with Amber again. No matter what the reason is, they still need to get a full details story about what happened. But, even after they managed to meet with Amber and heard the whole story, they still couldn’t dig anything behind Kris’s sudden behavior. Having no other option, they decided to just stay low from the father at the moment. Until there’s a time they understand the reason why.

###################################################

It was on a very sunny beautiful day where Siwon and Sungmin are holding hands with each other, walking. It was another day of their date and Siwon took Sungmin to a very vast field up on one hill. Intertwining their hands together, they walk hand in hand towards the top. Sungmin’s smile spread wide open upon reaching. The green scenery she sees and gush of winds slowly blowing her hair is so beautiful that she has no word to describe it except beautiful.

“This is mind blowing.” Praised Sungmin sincerely, enjoying the breathtaking view.

She heaved a deep sighed. Two strong arms wrapped around her petite body securely. Her boyfriend, there’s none other man than that. She smiled happily when he kissed her.

“Do you like it?” he asked.

Sungmin nodded, “It’s really beautiful. I didn’t know this place is so near to my work place.” She said.

Actually, she coincidentally meets with Siwon that day. She and Kangin were working together for their newest joint-project quite in the rural area. When they were about to go home, unexpectedly, Siwon came approached them. Surprise by the unexpected meeting, only happiness could describe how Sungmin feels. Siwon voluntarily asked to take Sungmin home from Kangin after knowing her work for the day is over. Since he also didn’t have anything to do, he suggests for a date and he didn’t regret it.

“This is my secret hideout actually,” Siwon admitted, “I tend to come here whenever I’m stress.”

“Stress?” Sungmin turned her head against Siwon, “Are you stressing over something oppa?” she asked worriedly.

Siwon stared silently at Sungmin, recalling something.

Look at yourself closely before claiming anything, Siwon-ssi. Your eyes showed it all.

Stop glaring at me.

There’s no reason for you to get jealous over me, Siwon-ssi. It’s pointless.

“Oppa.” Siwon tensed by a cold touch of Sungmin’s hand on his cheek.

He blinked. He’s been remembering words of other men’s talk about him and Sungmin in the past few days. And it stressed him. Without answering, he embraced Sungmin tighter.

“I think…I’m getting crazier.” He confessed.

Sungmin stared with big eyes, quite taken aback by the sudden remark.

“What should I do, baby? I love you too much that I think I’m going crazy.” He added, tighten the hug, “Do you hate me now?” his lips puckered like a sulking child.

Sungmin sighed and smiled thinly, “No, oppa. I don’t hate you. And I will never bring myself to hate you. Why would you think of that?”

“Well…I don’t know…”

“Let’s not talk about this. I don’t want to make you more stress.” Sungmin cuts him off, “Tell me more about this place instead. How long have you known this secret hideout?” she changed the topic, doesn’t want Siwon to think so negatively.

Siwon pouted.

“So?”

He sighed again, “I found this place when I was in sophomore year. I was stressing over something and take a drive alone. I didn’t know where I was going and it was night at time. After a long hour of driving, I decided to take a rest, at where we park our car.” He explained.

Sungmin nodding her head to his story.

“I fell asleep in the car not caring about my surroundings. When I woke up that morning, I suddenly feel refreshed. And this view is the first that came to me. Miraculously, all my stress slowly clears up just like that. For the first time ever, I think I was in love.”

A gush of wind passed through their sweet moment, sort of agreed with Siwon’s story. Sungmin laughed softly. They enjoyed their comfortable silent and continue hugging each other. It seems like nothing can hurt them that way.

“This place is great for a gathering.” Sungmin suddenly suggest, “I’m sure appa will agree with me.”

“Gathering?” Siwon repeated the word.

Nodding slightly, “I like this place and the view. The field is enormous specially. With just a little bit of touch, I’m sure it can be the perfect place for grouping activities.”

A ‘light bulb’ of idea lightens on Siwon’s head. He turned Sungmin’s body to face up with him. He’s grinning, something that confused Sungmin.

“Let’s get married here, Sungmin.”

“What?” Sungmin gawked at such a sudden proposal.

“Well, you said you love this place. Look at the green grass and fantastic view. Its vast clear blue sky that is unreachable. The wind blows which full of love. It’s perfect for a wedding. Furthermore, you said you father might like this place, so, isn’t it a good idea? We don’t have to decorate much too. What do you think?” he proposed, opened his arms wide to the view.

Sungmin could almost see sparkles in Siwon’s eyes by the talk. But, truthfully she’s still in shock by the sudden talk of marriage. She never ever thought about it before. She stared at Siwon with a lopsided grin on his face and couldn’t help but feels a tint of happiness. A smile slowly formed on her lips.

After a long though, she nodded shyly, agreeing.

“Thank you!” and Siwon crushed Sungmin into a bear hug, “I know it’s going to be perfect!” he exclaimed, planting kisses on every corner of Sungmin’s face.

Sungmin giggled, feels so ticklish being showered by love like that.

“But, don’t worry!” he suddenly stopped, once again surprised Sungmin, “I promise that I’ll make a proper proposal first. I’ll make it unforgettable for us all.” Told Siwon to Sungmin.

Red of blush unconsciously appears on Sungmin’s cheeks. No one has ever told her such thing before. So, it is extremely foreign for her to hear it. After a long time of staring and thinking, she finally smiled and hummed. A big and satisfied grin formed on Siwon. He leaned closer and they both shared a kiss on the lips, lovingly.

But, just as their loving time about to prolong, out of blue, drops of water fall over them.

“It’s raining.” Sungmin said the obvious.

Siwon hold Sungmin’s hand, “Come, let’s go back to the car.”

The two of them ran as quick they can towards their car. But, the rain got heavier and they had no other choice but to stop at a nearby hut instead.

Sungmin pants after a rush, “It’s raining so hard.”

“It’s raining a bit TOO hard. We better take a shelter here first.” They take a glance at each other and smiled meaningfully.

“Okay…” Sungmin trailed shyly, still smiling.

Siwon smiled back at her, with the same happiness, “Staying here together with you, doesn’t feel bad.” He said, as long as he is with Sungmin, even the rain doesn’t bother much.

Sungmin pouted and pinched his cheek for the playful remark. Their attention focused back to the rain. It is still raining and didn’t seem like it will stop sooner.

“How long do you think it will rain, oppa?” Sungmin asked, breaking the silence.

Siwon shrugged, “Not sure. But, I don’t think it will stop soon. Maybe it will rain till tomorrow.” He joked.

Sungmin laughed softly, “Tomorrow? By the time it’s tomorrow, we will be drowned, oppa.”

“Drowned? No way. I would never let it happen to you.” Siwon rebutted.

He moved closer to Sungmin and hugged her by the shoulder firmly. Sungmin hummed and enjoyed the warmth enticing from his boyfriend’s body. She reached for Siwon’s hand and entwined it with her own, searching for more heat. Siwon suddenly feels alarmed when their hands touch. Sungmin’s hands are as cold as ice.

“Baby, are you okay? Your hands are very cold.”

“Is that so?” Sungmin questioned back innocently, “It is quite cold.” She added.

Siwon let out a sigh, “Why don’t we endure the rain for a while and take a spurt to the car.” He suggested, “I don’t want you to get a cold.”

Sungmin blinked while thinking. But, just before she wants to give an answer, Siwon already took her hands into his and they dashed away from the hut. The heavy rain wetted their body by the time they reached the car. It is really a short moment, but for sure it was the moment that will remain in their heart. It was also the day and place where a promise was made. A promise of love.

A few minutes on a short drive from Siwon’s secret hideout, they stopped at the nearest hotel to dry off themselves. Siwon booked only one room with the reason they are there to just take a short break before going home. Right away when they stepped into the room, Sungmin hushed Siwon to take a bath. But, being the gentleman boyfriend he is, Sungmin is pushed inside instead. He just conveniently used the sink to wash his hairs. He is a man after all.

After some time, Sungmin comes out from the hotel’s bathroom, wearing the new clothes bought by Siwon in slow steps. Her gazes lowered down to the floor to hide her shyness. The makeup she wore before has already wipe off, so she’s a bit nervous to see Siwon’s reaction if he sees her without a makeup on.  Siwon on the hand is totally mesmerized by Sungmin’s after shower beauty. She looks so refreshed and beautiful beyond compare. With or without make up, he is more than confident by now that Sungmin’s beauty is a natural.

“I’ve already sent our clothes for dry cleaning. We can just wait. Do you want some coffee, Sungmin?” He said, inviting Sungmin.

Sungmin slowly nodded, “Thank you…” she thanked, shyly took the cup offered by the man.

They both take a sip of the hot drink and heaved out a sigh. Embarrassed by their perfect sync enactment, they smile to each other awkwardly. Siwon noticed the difference on Sungmin compare to previously. Her eyes. Her blue eyes that she hid always behind the contact lenses, for the first time ever finally reveal to him after knowing. He didn’t realize it before, but Sungmin’s eyes were extremely beautiful totally fitting with her innocent image.

“Your eyes are beautiful.” He expressed his thought out loud.

Sungmin blinked. Instantly, her face is red with natural blush. And because of too in trance by the stare given by Siwon, the cup Sungmin hold, slipped from her hand and fall onto the floor.

“Ahh!” she cried, “Sorry! I’m sorry!” she apologized, rubbing hard the stain with the wet towel.

“Sungmin, stop.” Siwon said, holding Sungmin’s shoulder firmly.

Sungmin’s movement stopped, and so is with the time. Their eyes met up with each other, loves can be seen all over the place.

“Sungmin…” Siwon’s voice flattened sensually, enticing Sungmin from moving an inch.

Slowly, without any word, Siwon leaned closer to Sungmin. He planted a kiss on Sungmin’s cheek first. Then, the kiss travelled to Sungmin’s forehead, creating a burn of sensation there. He kissed her eyelid softly, on the left and right, and finally it stopped at the lips. It stayed there for the longest time and when their eyes were open, both were staring into each other with love.

Siwon pressed his lips to Sungmin once more, sliding their lips together in such a way that it felt like the last two pieces of puzzle finally coming together. Siwon felt like his lips were made to kiss Sungmin from the start. Siwon pressed his body against Sungmin more, tugging her passionately and possessively. Sungmin also encircled her arm protectively over Siwon’s broad shoulder. Their kiss got hotter as Sungmin opened and gives Siwon an entrance to her lips. Siwon got bolder by the reaction. Instinctively, his hands travelled on Sungmin’s waist, wanting to do more.

But, something ticked out of sudden. Sungmin’s eyes abruptly open by the touch. With all the strength she got, she pushed Siwon off her hard. Siwon fall and was equally shock by the sudden act. Sungmin was panting and trembling, he saw it clearly.

“So…sorry…” Sungmin apologized, “I’m sorry!”

Leaving Siwon all dumbfounded, she dashed into the bathroom. The door pang closed and Sungmin’s body was trembling so much.

“Sungmin?” Sungmin flinched by call.

“Are you okay? Sungmin?” Siwon asked, worried.

Sungmin shivered, “I’m…I’m fine…” she tried her best to sound normal.

“Sungmin…please…I’m…”

“Oppa, I’m sorry.” Sungmin cuts his words, “I’m not ready. Please…” she pleaded.

Siwon stares at the bathroom door, blank. He sighed.

“It’s not your fault Sungmin. I’m sorry for acting too impulsive.” He apologized.

Even though he’s still astonished by Sungmin’s rebuttal, he was more worried seeing that Sungmin locked herself like that.

“I’ll get us something to eat. You just take a rest okay.” Siwon told her, and left in heavy heart.

Sungmin back in the bathroom is still standing by the door. Her body is still shivering. She saw her reflection through the big mirror and horrified by her own images. Tears flowed one by one as her body slides down onto the bathroom floor. Sungmin hugged herself and tried his best to muffle down her crying voice.

“Stop…please…stop trembling…please” She sobbed to herself and prayed.

So suddenly, everything once again turns back into zero. Siwon took a deep breath few times to calm his nerves. He feels a bit disappointed being rejected by Sungmin when everything was smoothly before that. But, then again, he tried to understand the reason why Sungmin acting that way. It was her first time, and he is her first lover, it is not a shock to say that she is not yet ready. Siwon consoled his heart and hoped for the better for him and Sungmin. He went to the restaurant and bought some food to cold down their body.

When he returned back to the room, Sungmin is already waiting with her dried clothes. It is awkward at first, but, after filling up their stomach, slowly, it’s normal again between them. Only a bit, but it’s better than nothing at all.

###################################################

Sungmin has been staring at her phone for many hours now. She is safely home after being sent by Siwon. She still can’t forget about what has just happen between them at the hotel room. Being a timid person she is, she kept thinking about it all over again. She sighed, for the nth time of that day.

What should I do? Can I call Wookie? Will I bother her?

She contemplating alone, staring and piercing the phone with dagger of stares. She lied down on the bed and rolling her body around, really stressed.

“Ahhh!! I hate this!” she screamed to the pillow, angry and every feeling mixed together.

She heaved out loud sigh and stares back to her phone. Pouting because she doesn’t know what to do, she pulled the blanket over her head and forced her eyes to sleep. Suddenly she feels a vibration. Quickly, she fetched her phone and answered it.

“Hello, hello.” She greeted, flustering over her words.

“Sungminie?” her best friend’s voice call from the other side, “Are you okay?” she asked, sensing her flustering.

A wide smile spread on Sungmin. The voice she missed so much, she can’t believe it comes through.

“Of course I’m okay. How about you, Wookie? Did you have fun with Yeye?” she questioned back.

A chuckle was heard from Ryeowook, “I am fine, perfectly fine. Yeye oppa took me to a lot of beautiful places. If you’re here, I’m sure you will be happy to see it.”

“Hee…really?” she grinned gleefully, “Maybe one day, I’ll go too.”

“Make sure of it. I don’t want you to work so much.” Ryeowook reprimanded.

Sungmin smiled, feels touched to hear the concern, “Em…so, why did you call? Did you miss me?” questioned Sungmin to Ryeowook.

“Yes, of course I miss you but I am more to worry about you actually.” She said, confusing Sungmin obviously.

“What…do you mean?” Sungmin asked back, unconsciously looking upwards sort of lying.

“Say it as my gush feelings but I don’t feel right. Did something happen to you while I’m not around? You’re not hiding anything from me, right?”

Sungmin pouted by the correct guess. She’s dying to tell Ryeowook about what happened but at the same time, she really doesn’t want to bother her during her honeymoon. Sungmin scratched her head, stressing over it.

“It’s nothing.” She lied, and it wasn’t convincing at all for Ryeowook.

Rolling her eyes by Sungmin’s obvious reaction, she sighed.

“Fine. I know you’re not telling, for now.” She finished off the topic cleanly, “But, you know that Teukie unnie is there right? Go and find her if you ever need someone to talk too.” She suggested.

Oh, right. Teukie unnie is here. Why did I forget about it? Sungmin reprimanded herself.

“Alright…I’ll go and meet her.” She promised.

Ryeowook smile, finally, “Good. Anyway, how’s the café? Is everything doing okay?” Ryeowook continued being a worry-wart.

“Yes, Wookie. Everything is okay. I have everyone to take care of the café for both us, remember? And don’t worry, I dropped over sometimes during my free time. Ceh, you’re saying like it’s my first time taking care of the café.” Sungmin sulked.

She heard a laugh from the other line, “Well, this is my first time going out of the country and leaving the café, right? Can’t blame all on me.” She mocked.

Sungmin smiled. Naturally, her distress heart healed a bit. Without doing anything, Ryeowook does have the magic touch to make her feel better again. Their small talk continued with more details about Ryeowook’s honeymoon and few other things. Sometimes, Yesung will tease and interrupted their girls’ talk but it couldn’t make Sungmin happier than that. In the end, she needs not to tell Ryeowook her problem at all because it already solved on its own. Talking with her best friend is all she needs for.

But, in keeping her promise with her, she still went to see Leeteuk on the next day, unannounced. She rings the house bell and waited for Leeteuk to open. And yet, when it opened, she was caught off guard instead.

“Kangin-oppa?”

“Sungminie?”

Both she and the said person widened in utter shock by the suddenness.

“What…are you…doing…here?” she hesitantly asked.

Kangin smiled awkwardly, unsure of what sort of answer to give her.

“Visiting?” replied Kangin, and Sungmin laughed at it.

Still in daze, Kangin lets Sungmin inside when they heard Leeteuk’s call from the inside. And she was utmost shock upon meeting eyes with Sungmin. Unable to explain anything but the truth, both of them had to bare the embarrassment being tease by Sungmin completely.

“So…you and Teukie unnie together now, oppa? Since when? Why didn’t I know about it? Why did you hide it? How did you ever fall in love anyway? Tell me. Tell me. I want to know.” Sungmin asked, booming Kangin with questions, so eager to know about everything.

Kangin sighed, “We are not together, yet, Sungminie. That’s the main reason why I never tell you anything about it. And no, I will not tell you anything further. Not until I am certain.” He said.

A pout automatically appeared on Sungmin, “Meany. Stingy.” She complained, pouting hard.

“Baby girl…behave.” Leeteuk’s voice lectures, coming from the kitchen with drinks.

“Sorry...” Sungmin replied, still pouting.

Kangin smiled by the side with a fatherly smile. It is the first time that he sees an interaction between Sungmin and Leeteuk only. From the way they talk and look at each other, he can see the motherly love Leeteuk had for Sungmin. In the end, all three of them spend time together getting to know each other more. Kangin also use the opportunity to know more about the girl he had feelings for. After dinner, Kangin excused himself to go home leaving Sungmin at the house since the girl decided to have a sleep over there that night.

“Unnnie…” Sungmin trailed calling for her, lying down on the bed while facing her.

“Hm?”

She tore her eyes away from looking straight at her and continues talking in slow motion, “If I say...it…came back…on me…will you forgive me?”

Leeteuk’s eyes wide opened and she shot sits up from lying.

“Say it again, Minnie.” She demanded, pulling Sungmin to meeting eyes with her.

It…came back?”

Leeteuk’s face drastically changed into a horrified one.

“How? Why? Tell me every details of it.”

“But unnie…”

“No buts.” Leeteuk raised her hand, “I don’t want to hear any shortcuts. Come, let’s do some therapy.”

Ignore Sungmin’s whining, Leeteuk pulled the girl away from the bed and towards the other room quickly. She forced Sungmin to tell her every detail of it without excluding any part. Sungmin also, didn’t actually want to hide. By the time her story finished, Sungmin ended up crying in Leeteuk’s arms. Leeteuk hugged her firm and did her best to calm her. Sungmin’s past was scary. Leeteuk knew so much about the horrible part that it never fail to scare her whenever she heard something related to it. That’s why she so agitated to know. That was also why she so determined to be a psychiatrist in the first place.

###################################################

Eunhyuk massaged his temple tiredly. He’s been thinking about something important and very serious. Something that no one else knew about. He’s been thinking about his last meeting with Kris at Ryeowook’s wedding last week.

He and Kris, they were friends, and more than friend they were best friends. Back in the old days, Kris has always been the one to backup his back whenever something happened. But, their friendship was torn apart one day. Only because of one woman, Lee MinJung. He never knew the truth before. The woman he loved and married was also the woman that his best friend falls in love with. They fought and Eunhyuk defended his wife because of love. Kris left Korea after that and was never seen again. But, fate has suddenly destined them to meet again. None of them were ready.

Their normal life hasn’t been the same anymore. Eunhyuk was shock when he found out that that Sungmin has known Kris for many years already. And plus, Kris is actually the father of his son’s best friend, Amber. He should have notice it sooner. Amber does Kris resemble Kris in some way. But, he also never asks much because he trusts Sungjin in making friends. Blaming himself from not minding the small matter before, he regrets it so much. Kris on the other hand, after knowing about the fact also been in flabbergasted state himself. He felt angry but unsure to whom. Because of that anger, unconsciously he ignores Sungmin. He thought that Sungmin probably in accomplice with her father and lied to him. He thought that Lee Hyukjae must have known and using it on him ever since before. But, what he didn’t know, there is actually more than that.

“He stops talking to you?” Eunhyuk asks, after Sungmin finished telling him her story.

Sungmin nods meekly with a pout.

“It feels weird though. He used to laughs and talks to me the most whenever we had a meeting but, he started to change so suddenly. I didn’t understand why he starts treating me cold lately.” Sungmin explains more.

It’s because of me. Eunhyuk answered Sungmin’s confusion inside his heart.

“Hyuk-appa?”

Eunhyuk snapped away from his thinking, “What?”

“Are you okay?” Sungmin asked worriedly.

Eunhyuk stares at his daughter for a few moment before he smiles weakly, “I’m fine baby girl. I’m just a bit tired.” Eunhyuk lied.

“Are you sure?” Eunhyuk nodded, ruffles the girl’s hair affectionately.

Sungmin laughs by the affection which makes the father smiles too. All her worry and stress always melt with just Sungmin’s smile. And he’s grateful with that.

“Let’s get inside now. Your mother might nag at me again if I keep you outside long in the night.” Eunhyuk stands up and followed by Sungmin behind him.

True on his words, Donghae did nag on them for staying outside too long. She really is concerned about Sungmin’s health the most. Despite that, Eunhyuk didn’t argue much with his wife. It was only Sungmin who sulk when being nagged like that. They had a cute mother-daughter argument with each other. Eunhyuk watched his loved one interacting with a smile on his face.

And slowly, his expression change when he saw Sungmin’s eyes. He remembered that he still has some unattended business to settle. He decided that he needs to meet with Kris. His best friend deserves to know something. A secret that he has kept for many years long, it is time for it to be reveal before it is too late.
