|Rewind : Another Shot At Love|
A smile couldn’t help but make its way onto the brunette’s face as she vividly recalled yesterdays’ events. Touching her lips, she could still feel the lingering of his soft ones on her own (which made her smile even bigger). His (oh so sweet and meaningful) words kept on echoing in her head, she couldn’t quite grasp the fact that he, the guy who she’s been secretly loving for years, her own best friend (who held a dear piece of her heart) had been reciprocating her feelings all along.
(It all seemed too good to be true).
Yet a question managed to resurface above all her jittery feelings, a question which clearly voiced her inner doubts and worries. A question that needed to be answered, but she’ll gladly wait, in order to bask in the happiness he had given her, after all, she knew quite well that it would be limited in time. Soon the clock would strike twelve and our dear Cinderella would regain her original self (a little maid who isn’t worthy of the princes’ attention and love). However Mel couldn’t help but hope that her story would have a happy ending as well.
The question that was constantly bugging her was none other than a simple: Why now? (Which is something quite reasonable to ask), after all, why would he confess now? Why? It seemed odd for him to do so. Her life, after all, was no flashy Hollywood movie in which the guy who she’d been desperately in love with (whom, ironically, would also happen to be her best friend) would be magically in love with her as well but neither one of them would have the guts to confess first.
(But oddly enough he had and he did.)
Does that make it genuine then?
Does he truly love her? Or is he only playing with her?
That she did not know.
(Yet, she knew for a fact that Myungsoo isn’t that type of guy, the type who would go along breaking girls’ hearts (not to mention his own best friends’ heart, after all, he would never hurt her) that, she knew all too well).
Yet, she couldn’t help but worry. What if it was “a spur of the moment” thing? What if he was too drunk (which he wasn’t) and didn’t mean anything he had said? What if he regrets what he did? What if everything he had said or done was a mere lie? What would happen to her then? What would she do then?
Whatever happens, Mel decided to follow her heart (hoping that it wouldn’t end up being broken and bruised).
“Someone’s happy”
“What makes you say that?”
“You’ve been smiling ever since this morning and I’m slowly starting to be creeped out by your cheerful attitude”
Sungyeol chuckled as his friend shot him his “infamous” glare.
The young boys’ hardened gaze faltered as his lips curved upwards forming (yet again) a smile on his flawless face. Myungsoo was extremely happy; he had finally confessed to Mel, he had finally corrected his mistake. (She was finally his).
He recalled the sweet taste of her lips (as they sensually danced with his own) which were covered by a strawberry flavored chap-stick (a flavor greatly loved by him). The feel of her tightly pressed body against his built one ignited within him a passion like no other. The sound of their hearts beating as one assured him of the immense amount of love they both shared for one another. (You know, they say that your soul mate possess a heartbeat that is similar to yours. Could that mean that Mel was his? Is she the girl he’s destined to spend his entire life with? Is she his other half?)
Sungyeol sighed as he noticed his friends’ dazed expression. He had never seen him this happy (well except for when he went out to meet his “dear girlfriend”). Don’t get him wrong, he had nothing against Doyeon but she just seemed too fake for his liking. She may seem like an angel to Myungsoo (after all, he’s head over heels for the girl) but he knew for a fact that underneath the layer of innocence she proudly displays lies a small devil waiting to be unleashed. “Never be fooled by someone’s appearance, what you might see, might not always be what’s real” it was something he kept on repeating but his friend was too thick-headed to listen. What made the situation even worse was the fact that he had (and still has) a great girl waiting for him but he’s too dense to notice the feelings she harbors for him (and he calls himself a great observer).
Sungyeol hopes his friend would realize what he has before it’s taken away from him.
However he truly cares for Myungsoos’ happiness and if he’s truly happy with Doyeon, so be it.
He’ll just have to accept the idea of them dating (Even if it sickens him to the core)
“I’m glad she makes you happy” (Although her fakeness suffocates me)
Myungsoo furrowed his eyebrows (as of yet no one was aware of his relationship with Mel).
“Who?” (He couldn’t help but wonder)
Sighing yet again, Sungyeol let out a name he had grown to dislike.
“Doyeon”
Myungsoo needed to applaud his ability of looking nonchalant even
