Ah, Love

CHAPTER 10

Hana.

I sat down across Kris eating a plate of chocolate cake for dessert. Oh God, this is so heavenly. I solemnly swear that if there's any kind of food that equals to pure pleasure, it's chocolate. I look over at Kris and see him just poking the piece of heaven on his plate.

He had a certain deep look on his face where his brows were so close to knitting together; Gulp. “Kris?” he looks up as if he had just snapped out of a daze and looked at me “Yeah?”

“Are you okay?” I ask, concerned. If it's about his dad, I really won't know what to do or say.

He shook his head and breathes out a heavy sigh “I'm just... thinking” my curiosity gets the best of me; I give him a smile and tilt my head to the side “You know you can tell me, right?” and he gives me that blank but hesitating look when he really shouldn't.

As a girlfriend, isn't it only rightful that I'm there for him? I mean, one of the benefits is the support, isn't it? But even if it weren't a requirement, I still would do my best to be there for him because quite frankly, he needs it.

Truthfully, he's the guy I know who needs all the support he can get. He became a chairman recently which means his load of work is ten folds now, his dad is confined in a hospital and he still has family issues. I want to be there for him in every way I can be it physically or miles away.

“Hana...” he starts “Be honest with me”

Okay... suddenly, the tension in the atmosphere seemed to have rose up. I nod my head and he continues “What exactly has Kai been doing while you were out of my sight?”

I was a bit confused by the sudden appearance of Kai in our subject but if I know any better, I think he knows something. Could it be... I think for a moment. The drunk phone call? But it was only one time though... Hm... “Business wise?” I ask. His brows narrow and he looks down on his plate of cake “He's been pouring out his feelings for you, hasn't he?”

My eyes blink at his question and for some reason, I found myself giggling at the sight of him frowning down on the food infront of him. He looks at me “What's so funny?”

“Are you jealous?”

Silence.

“I am not jealous” Kris frowns, looking away but it only makes me laugh some more. Who even thought it was possible? Kris Wu and the word 'jealous' don't seem to be a match.

We both finish dessert and head back to Wu Enterprise.

The drive was quiet, Kris still had that frown on his face but it didn't really bother me –when it usually does. I stole a quick glance at him every now and then, amused by my discovery just awhile ago. A heavy sigh escapes his lips, he suddenly swerves the car to the right and parks it by the sidewalk, confusing me.

“Why'd we stop?” I ask, looking around while he was already in the midst of unbuckling his seat belt. “I need cold coffee” he mutters and gets out of the car.

Kyungsoo.

Kai took his seat beside me across Chen and Chanyeol. We were already halfway through lunch when he arrived; it was nice to be eating like this again, it has been a long time since we got together after all, even though we're incomplete. I find some sort of comfort being with friends, it is lonesome living alone afterall

“Hana rejected you for lunch?” Chanyeol asks in a teasing tone and Chen follows with a snigger “Ha-Ha, funny, no... she went out with Kris” “Kris?” Chen chimes in question. Right, he's in town.

Chanyeol swallows his food “He's here?” I nod my head to confirm. Chen raises a brow “How come he didn't tell us?” “Well...” I take a deep breath “He surprised Hana, I guess that's why he didn't inform anyone” “Aigo, that guy really is inlove” Chanyeol mumbles.

I glance over at Kai –who sipped on his drink quietly- I have to admit, sometimes I feel sorry for him but other times I just want to smack him in the back of the head and tell him how stupid he is. Then again... it's not like he chose to fall inlove with her, right?

Hana's special after all and anyone who gets close to her, one way or another gets specially attached to her. Me? I'm not like Kai and Kris but I do have the urge to stand up for her sometimes. Sometimes. “Kai, are you okay?” Chen asks, he whips his head and puts on a smirk “Ofcourse I am, why wouldn't I be?”

“Uh, because Hana and Kris are madly inlove with each other and you're standing on the sidelines getting hurt over it” Chen states and Chanyeol sniggers, almost spitting out his drink. Kai rolls his eyes at him while as I continued to finish my food quietly.

I did prefer listening than talking.

“I am not hurt over anything and for the record, I am over Kim Hana” he chugs down his can of drink. “Ohh ~” the two chorus in a teasing tone and I managed to sneak out a small amused chuckle. Yeah right, Kai. Do tell us more...

Lunch ended eventually.

“Well, thanks for the lunch Kyungsoo-ah but I have to get to JYP for a meeting” Chanyeol pats me on the side of the arm before bidding us all goodbye and leaves. Chen turns to me “I have to go too, I'll see you later. Dinner is on me” he points his thumb to himself; “Sure, bye” Kai and I wave him off.

Once alone, I puffed out a breath “So... what did you want to talk about?”

Kris entered Wu Enterprise sipping on his cup of iced mocha frap; Hana following after him. Employees just suddenly dropped in dead silence, bowing and mumbling greetings to the –now- chairman of the company that they were working for. He was currently radiating the cold aura and ever since the car ride, Hana's been feeling it.

Aigo. She puffs out a breath and continues to follow Kris through the large lobby of Wu Enterprise. The elevator doors open and Suho steps out, his brows jumping in surprise at the sight of the chairman “Kris!”

He meets his friend halfway. Hana takes her place by Kris side and bows at Suho “Good afternoon, Mr. Kim” while as Kris only keeps on sipping on his drink with a gloomy look on his face. Suho could almost see storm clouds over Kris's head. What's with him? He chuckles inwardly to himself

“I didn't know you were in town” he smiles; Kris finally pulls his lips away from the straw “Unexpected trip...” he mumbles, wrapping up the whole explanation in two words.

The Kris Wu style.

“I see; eherm, anyway... Hana, I left some files to be worked on in your office, instructions are on every folder” he smiles at the girl and she nods her head, flashing on the same gesture “Okay sir; excuse me”

She bows and leaves the two superiors, entering the elevator. Kris's eyes don't follow her and instead looks elsewhere. Once the elevator doors were closed, Suho snorts out a laugh “Did you two fight or something?”

Sigh. “No” he replies coldly; Suho thinks for a moment “Hm... then why do I smell tension in the air?” “It's nothing, Suho” he snarls making Suho chuckle in amusement. Something was definitely up.

“You know what, let's take a seat over there and talk” he points his hand to the leather couches.

Kris quietly finishes off his drink whereas Suho also quietly waits. It's been only a couple of days but Suho admits that he did miss the presence of the –so the employees dub- iceberg in this large company.

“You know” Suho starts off “Hana's working hard these days, juggling a lot of things with work and studying --” “Why didn't you tell me?”

“Pardon?”

“Why didn't you tell me that Hana got called to Cube and that Kai has been calling her drunk the past few days?” his brows knit together as he looks at Suho.

The CEO let out a sigh and shook his head “Look, first of all: I didn't know she got called at Cube and second: are you jealous?”

“Goddamn it...” he slams his cup full of ice on the glass table “I am not jealous!”

Everyone stops and stares; Suho looks around and raises a hand, gesturing the surprised employees to carry on and ignore them. Kris ran a hand through his hair in frustration and slumps back on the couch; Suho leans forward “Yeah... you're definitely jealous, man” he smiles.

“Come on Kris, it's normal... jealousy is a good thing sometimes, you know”

Kris rolls his eyes at him “I told you, I'm not jea --” “Kris” Suho says in a warning tone and Kris groans “I never get jealous, you know that”

“Yeah but things are different now. Come on, Kris... Hana's special to you, it's perfectly normal

Kris closes his eyes and pinches the bridge of his nose, he takes a deep breath. What has Kim Hana done to him? He still questions himself that up to this day. It's not that it was bad but sometimes, there are things that he feels that he wishes he doesn't.

And in this case, it is envy.

“Suho...” he calls out to him. The guy raises a brow “Huh?” “Do me a favor”

“What?”

“I don't want Kai near Hana...” and with that, he stood up, leaving Suho to be alone and heads for the elevators.
