Dares, Jealousy And...Fires?

The Love Bet

The weather outside might've made it seem as though it had late, however, Jessica didn't know just how early it was until she looked at the clock: one pm.

She was supposed to spend the whole day and night with Jiyong, while pretending that she was too occupied with Joongki, which proved to be not as hard as she thought. Joongki knew exactly how to act to make her pay attention to him, but that didn't mean she didn't notice Jiyong. She noticed him silently throwing dagger like glares at Joongki. She honestly did not know how she could put up with him all day, never through the night.

He continued to sulk as the others entered the room.

They were supposed to figure out what to do for the hours until the storm had passed because the meteorologist had stated that, “It is not safe to leave your homes at the moment. We strongly advise you to stay indoors for the duration of the night."

However, Jessica couldn't really focus on what Tiffany was going on about because she could just feel Jiyong's stare on her now. It was like he was piercing her soul with knives. Okay, that was a tad over dramatic but he was still starting so she tried her best not to look.

Joongki was sitting right next to her on the love seat, not leaving much distance between the two. It had eventually hit her a while ago that Joongki was a guy too, a very good looking, charming guy at that. Though he was acting most of the time, Jessica could still pick up that he was also sincere. And that made her all the more nervous. She was just a girl after all- and their legs were practically touching.

~~~
Jiyong couldn't stand it.
Jessica was around Joongki the whole time he got here, he spotted the two right away, and he did not like it one bit.
When it started pouring they decided that they'd go back to Yoona's as it was closer than Jiyong and Seunhyun’s houses. Jiyong was happy since he could see Jessica again. When she called earlier but then hung up, it made him confused.
He still wasn't so sure about the whole liking Jessica thing. Even though he confessed he didn't feel like he meant it. That day Jessica reminded him of the old times when he'd act more like himself, without his past ruling over him. When he was with her, he didn't want to be a player.
Truth be told, he never really wanted to be a player but he couldn’t deal with commitment. He had done it before and all he got in return was a broken heart. But since he started to live in the present and forget his memories he started acting more like himself.
 He thought that it must've been that which got him to say such things. He enjoyed being himself once again that he misinterpreted his emotions.
However, when Yoona mentioned to go to her place he couldn't help but look forward to possibly seeing Jessica. That didn’t mean that he had to like her, right? He just wanted to hang out with her because he was becoming more sincere with her. He was looking forward to it.
That was until she came out of the kitchen with a guy’s hand around her waist.
And she looked happy. As if yesterday didn't happen and he didn't just confess to the girl.
No, that confession wasn't even a confession, he reminded himself, and it meant nothing.
As much as he said that he couldn't help but feel a slight pang in his heart.
The whole time Jessica had stuck to Joongki and even now she was sitting next to him. With basically no space separating the two. Didn’t the guy know of personal space?
He didn't realize it himself but he couldn't stop glaring at Joongki. After glaring at him for a bit Jiyong slowly averted his gaze to Jessica and blankly stared at her.
Then it struck him.
He shook his head. Nuh-uh, nope. That was not happening. No it's not. He wasn’t jealous. Not one bit. No.
Even if in the back of his head he knew that he really was.
"Jiyong?" Someone interrupted his thoughts. He looked up to see that all eyes were on him.
"Huh?"
"You okay? You look like you're in pain, and you keep on shaking your head," commented Seunghyun. Just how long were they looking?
"I-uhhh-yeah. I'm good. Just have a lot on my mind. Don't mind me," he flashed a quick closed smile.
That was when he decided to pay attention to the conversation.
That was also when the lights went out.
~~~

After what seemed like forever, candles were set up around the house and everyone could finally see again. The sun had seemed to disappear as the clouds rumbled more and more. It didn’t seem like it was still daytime, it felt like night had taken over.

"Doesn't this make everything seem more romantic?" proclaimed Tiffany as she was looking around at the job they did.

The others were busy doing other things and didn't hear. But Jiyong who did hear, pretended that he didn't because quite frankly Tiffany was right and there was no way he'll agree with her. She wouldn’t stop talking about it if he did. He had past experiences with agreeing with Tiffany. He shivered unconsciously just remembering.

He looked around the living room and counted about fifteen different candles in. The fact that the girls even had fifteen plus candles, astounded Jiyong. But this was fifteen candles only in the living room. There were more around the house. What, do they own a candle shop or something?

He carefully avoided some candles and sat on the couch.

He sensed a pattern throughout the day. There were three pairings that stuck together for the whole day and Jiyong was not really fond of the combination. Yoona always hung around with Seunghyun, which was no biggie but Jessica wouldn't leave Joongki's side, leaving Jiyong with Tiffany. Who seemed as if she was happy that a storm was brewing outside which could potentially harm everyone. But that was Tiffany for you. You just never know with her.

There was nothing wrong with Tiffany, they were undoubtedly friends, but she could be a bit hard to handle for Jiyong.

What Jiyong wanted to do right now was go home, curl up in his blankets and erase the past couple days from his memory. Tiffany, however, just wouldn't allow him even the luxury of imagining it.

"Oooh, why don’t we play a game of two truths and a lie?” suggested Tiffany.

Jiyong rubbed his forehead, "What are we? In elementary school?"

They all stared at him, surprised of his sudden attitude.

"Letting the jealousy get to you?" whispered Seunghyun who came to stand next to Jiyong. He was trying not to smirk at his best friends’ jealousy. Then he turned towards Tiffany, "I'm up for it. There’s nothing else we can do."

Yoona who came up beside him also voiced her eagerness then Jessica and lastly Joongki. They looked back at Jiyong who got out of his shock and gave everyone a ‘really’ look.

He mumbled a, "Whatever," and shrugged.

~~~
“Okay so the rules of this game are,” explained Tiffany as they all sat in a circle on the ground of the living room. “You say two truths and one lie as the title states and we have to guess which one is a lie. If we guess wrong then we spin the bottle around those who got the wrong answer and you get to choose a dare of your choice. If we get it right than we just go to the next person.”
Everybody nodded and the game started off with Tiffany who was the one who suggested the game.
“Alright, so… I’ve been to Paris, met the cast of The Avengers and was the valedictorian for my high school graduation.”
Seunghyun and Jiyong who knew the answer to that snickered.
“You were not valedictorian,” answered Seunghyun and everyone agreed as he seemed highly confidant.
Tiffany pouted, “No need to rub it in.” She nodded to Yoona who was the next person.
This time it was Jessica who guessed correctly and they went on to the next person. On and on they went and everyone kept getting it right. Just when everyone was about to give up on the game since it was no fun, it was Jessica’s turn. She thought long about it since she knew Yoona would catch almost everything but smiled when she remembered something even Yoona didn’t know.
“I dressed up as sailor moon for Halloween for five years straight, I’ve never had a boyfriend and I have a tattoo.”
Everybody stared a Jessica and contemplated the things she had just said, while the speaker sat there with an innocent smile on her face.
Everyone’s head turned to Yoona, who had a higher chance of knowing than anyone else.
“What?” she asked incredulously even though she had an idea which one was the lie. Yoona didn’t remember Jessica ever dating anyone nor did she ever hear about a tattoo. She, did however remember that Jessica did dress as Sailor Moon for five years, so that one was ruled out.
     Yoona was ruling out the never having a boyfriend one as well since Jessica didn’t talk about guys since they were younger. She had never mentioned having a boyfriend. Therefore the lie must’ve been that she has a tattoo.
     Even if it seemed too obvious Yoona went for it, “The lie is that you have a tattoo.”
Jessica slowly shook her head and grinned.
“So you do have a tattoo? Which one is the lie than?” asked Tiffany.
“That I’ve never had a boyfriend,” Jessica said, if that was what could be called of him. When she was around fifteen a boy had asked her out and they dated for around a week before she broke it off. She didn’t really like the guy and only went out since she was put on the spot. She knew Yoona wouldn’t know about that since she had never mentioned it.
Having a tattoo was a totally different topic altogether. The second she had gotten the small tattoo that marked her lower back, she had regretted it. Nobody that she kept in contact with knew about the tattoo and she did her best to hide it. It was a simple tattoo of a needle threading the word love inside of a heart.  It was a pretty tattoo but she was embarrassed of it because of the reason she got it. Not because she didn’t like the way it ended up.
It used to remind her of the things she gave up as she got older. But, thinking about it now, she realized that the things she had to give up before were slowly coming back to her. First was her dream of becoming a fashion designer and as the finish mark comes closer and closer it seems like she’ll finally have the chance to fulfill it. Then the opportunity for love came around. With the help of Tiffany she may actually be able to live a happy married life.
“What kind of tattoo is it?” asked Jiyong, breaking Jessica out of her trip to memory land.
“Huh? I don’t know,” she responded. She may have just told them that she has a tattoo but she wasn’t going to delve into the details.
“Can we see it? How do we know it’s real unless you show it to us?” He went on.
“It’s real, alright. I wouldn’t be lying about that,” she answered in a firm voice. “Where’s the bottle?”
Silently, Yoona passed the bottle and Jessica spun it. It landed on none other than Jiyong.
He stared at it in disbelief, “Are you kidding me?”
“We kid you not,” replied Seunghyun who was trying to back a laugh.
Jiyong looked up and caught Jessica’s eyes. She seemed flustered and looked away.
“What’s my dare?” he asked.
Jessica thought about it, she couldn’t seem to remember what Jiyong’s weakness was, until she remembered him mentioning something the day she went over to his place.
“Eat a spoonful of ketchup,” she said at last. At one point they had talked about foods they liked and disliked and Jiyong had shown a strong distaste towards the sauce.
It showed on Jiyong’s face as it scrunched up while he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Seunghyun and Tiffany who also knew about his hatred of ketchup started laughing and the other two looked amused.
It seemed that luck was on his side-only on his side- as he stood up and accidently knocked down a candle, which somehow caused another candle to topple over as well. He jumped back and his eyes widened.
He cursed, letting some vulgarities slip out. Everyone jumped up as the rug they were sitting on caught fire. Seunghyun grabbed a blanket and started thrashing it on the rug while Yoona hurriedly went and got the fire extinguisher.
Joongki was also helping but it seemed like the fire wasn’t going out and was only getting bigger. Jessica saw that Jiyong just stood there with a stricken look so she went up to him and tugged on his sleeve. He got out of his trance and looked at Jessica. She tugged once more and nodded towards the back wall. They backed up and let the others get rid of the fire.
The two guys and Tiffany were moving out of the way to let Yoona use the fire extinguisher. After the fire was gone everyone released a sigh of relief and sat down once again.
"You planned that didn't you Jiyong?" Joongki smirked, a glint in his eye as he whispered to Jiyong and put an arm around Jessica
Chapter 14: I'm sorry for asking, but is this story from somewhere else and you just copy pasted it? First you said the Kwon's sister's name was Elisa. And then it changed to Yuri.
And then you said the best friend's name "started with an 'R' and ended with 'aiden'. But it became spelled as Seunghyun. Isn't it Raiden? It made me confused. And more than slightly curious. This is a really good fic though. But some just don't connect. Especially the names. Sorry for prying.
