Party Time

The Love Bet

The party started at ten pm and Tiffany sent a car to pick them up since her house was quite far from where the two lived.

They both wore the dresses that Tiffany had sent them. Even though they both had refused to let her do so much, Tiffany didn’t listen. She had forcefully handed them the clothes and demanded they wear it.

Jessica looked at herself in the mirror and the first thing she noticed was the off white lace flowers that popped out against the bottom half of this dress, the material used was a see through off white and is short in the front but has a long train flowing behind her, the top half was snug that showed off more of a figure than what Jessica normally would wear. Lastly the top half of this dress was satin that fit perfectly across her chest and ruffled the slightest bit to the middle where a belt of jewels were beautifully sewn on. Her makeup was done to accent her eyes but was kept at natural colours; her hair was loosely curled and pulled to one side.

Yoona's dress, unlike Jessica's was pure white with sparkles that accented the bottom trim of the dress. Her short sleeves were see through but as it came to the neck and down into a v cut it was solid white, silver jewels were sewn on into a pattern around the v neck and as it came to her waist a beautiful pattern of the same jewels could be seen. Throughout the length of the dress a see through sparkly material was used over top of the pure white dress to make it pop. But overall it was a simple dress, which made her natural beauty stand out to its fullest.

They left half an hour before ten and when they reached the house they were blown away. Tiffany’s parents had allowed her to do the planning of the party and she really went out.  The theme of this party was a red carpet and there were reporters, photographers and even a photo area included. They stopped right in front of the red carpet and the driver even opened the door. They stepped out and all the ‘reporters’ swarmed them and started taking pictures.

After they escaped all the people they were directed to the house. Jessica was walking and was looking at the house so she didn’t realize that there were steps right ahead. It was already too late when she noticed; she closed her eyes and braced herself for the embarrassment of falling.

But that embarrassment didn’t come. A pair of arms circled her waist and held her up.  She peeked out her eyes and saw the one person she wasn’t ready to see: Jiyong.

Throughout the week, she had been ignoring him. After Monday their sections changed and she didn’t see Jiyong for the most part. Also, the reason she couldn’t find Tiffany that day was because the section she was in had lunch early and by the time it was lunch for Jessica, Tiffany had just came back. For the week, she had hid from Jiyong and had lunch with Tiffany. However, Tiffany wasn’t that happy because she knew Jiyong would give up but Jessica didn’t listen. She didn’t want to see Jiyong. But here he was, saving her from the humiliation of tripping.

She was about to panic when their eyes connected but she had to stay in character. She looked at him and then at where his hands were and cleared . His hands lingered on her waist but slowly removed them.

“Hey, you look gorgeous,” he said and checked her. If he was trying to hide the action, it wasn’t working. He led her towards the house.

“Thanks,” she smiled a tight lipped smile. “You look good as well.”

She couldn’t help but admit that, because he did. He was wearing faded blue jeans, a white V-neck shirt that hugged his torso nicely, and a dark blue blazer with the arms pulled up right below his elbows. He had his brown hair styled back in a messy style that Jessica really liked. The image of him in just a towel popped back into her brain but pushed it back just as fast as it came.

Jiyong chuckled and was about to say something when Tiffany came up to them wearing a strapless scarlet dress that had a sweetheart neckline, it hugged her curves until mid-thigh and then had multiple layers that slightly flowed to the ground, leaving a train of material. The colour went well with her dark auburn hair that was curled and one side was flowing down her back while the other ran down the front of her dress. Tiffany came up to Jessica and hugged her. It was only when Tiffany questioned where Yoona went that Jessica noticed her best friend nowhere to be seen.

After the whole Jessica falling and Jiyong coming out and catching her, somehow Seunghyun had also come up to Yoona. Instead of being a Good Samaritan like Jiyong, he snuck up behind Yoona and scared her.

“Boo,” he whispered in her ear.

She yelped and turned, instinctively hitting him on the arm. “Is that how you greet someone you haven’t met for the last four months?”

“Sorry,” he said but didn’t look the least bit sorry as her started laughing. Yoona couldn’t help but laugh along with him but shook her head at his childishness.

Before coming to the party they were both worried that they would be awkward since they hadn’t talked in person for a long time. They had kept in contact and texted each other but this was the first time meeting in person. She took in his appearance and suddenly became very aware at just how good he looked.

He was wearing a white dress shirt that was tucked into a pair of jeans. The few buttons of his shirt were ed and his hair was styled up. It wasn’t a complex outfit but everything fitted where it should and made the simple clothing look great.

“You didn’t tell me you knew Tiffany,” he asked.

“I didn’t? Well I met her when I came to the city and she helped me out a lot.” Or at least that was the story they decided on telling everyone.

“Yeah, she can be like that.” They entered the house and Yoona was stunned once again. She thought the exterior was amazing but the interior was just decorated with just as much care. Yoona saw Tiffany talking to Jiyong and Jessica but Seunghyun saw where she was looking and misjudged her expression.

“So you’ve met Jiyong again.”

She nodded her head. They already had a conversation about Jiyong. He was a player and Seunghyun had made it really clear to Yoona about it. That’s why when Tiffany came she supported the whole makeover/revenge thing. She hoped that it make him realize that being a player isn’t going to get him anywhere and she had a sliver of hope that maybe he’ll fall in love with Jessica.

Even from where Yoona and Seunghyun were standing they could see that Tiffany was giving Jiyong a very hard time.

“So I see you’ve met,” Tiffany said, pulling Jessica closer to her.

“Yes we have. I’m just wondering how such a pretty girl can be associated with this,” Jiyong pointed at Tiffany.

“Do you want to get hurt?” She raised her fist and was about to punch him when he grabbed her hands and placed them by her sides again.

Laughing the whole time he raised both his hands in the air and backed off, “Sorry, I promise I won’t do it again.” Then in a low voice he said, “Not.”

Jessica was standing close enough that she heard what he said and her heard turned in his direction. He glanced at her and winked. Tiffany saw this and whacked him on the head.

“Stop flirting with my friend.”

He turned back to Tiffany, one of his hands rubbing the area she hit, “What?”

Jessica kept watching from the sidelines and smiled at their cuteness. They looked like siblings.

“I finally get to see your smile. And a very pretty smile, might I add,” he winked again. Jessica blushed, but tried to hide it with her hand and Tiffany went to smack Jiyong again but another hand came and did it for her.

“When did you become so cheesy?” The male came out from behind Jiyong, “I am deeply sorry. My little bro wasn’t always this cheesy. My name’s Minho, by the way,” he said, sticking out his hand and Jessica shook it. He flashed a killer smile and ruffled Tiffany’s hair while at it.

Her eyes widened and went a slack. Her hands went straight to hair to fix it and glared at the guy that was standing there innocently.

“Did I do something wrong?” He chuckled and patted Tiffany’s head again which made her glare again. “Well I’ll leave you to Jiyong’s horribly cheesy way of talking once again, while I go and try to find my wife.”

He walked towards Jessica and Tiffany and whispered so low that only they could hear, “Nice to see you again, Sooyeon.”

Jessica grew rigid for a second but then loosened up when Tiffany nudged her. She leaned in and whispered, “I told him.”

“You told who what?” a girl’s voice said and the two jumped.

“Tiffany how could you not contact me for the longest time!” the same girl said, forgetting about the question she asked earlier.

“Sorry Yuri, I just had a lot of work and all,” Tiffany replied pulling Yuri into a hug. After pulling away Yuri turned to Jessica.

“Hi! You must be Jessica; it’s a pleasure to meet you.” She stuck out her hand and Jessica shook it.

“Nice to meet you too,” Jessica smiled.

“Hey aren’t you guys forgetting someone here?” Jiyong asked, butting into the conversation. He felt rather awkward just standing there.

“Well it’s not like you’re such an important person that deserves to be recognized,” said Tiffany with a smug laugh. Once again those two were bickering again. Everyone else was laughing at those two.

“It feels like Tiffany‘s Jiyong’s sister not me,” Yuri said while watching the two bicker.

After Tiffany and Jiyong finally stopped bickering the party went on. Tiffany went to talk to the other guests while Jessica and Yuri talked. Jessica and Yoona were the only new faces and were introduced to everybody else. They both found most of the other guests to be welcoming and nice. Some seemed a bit snotty but Tiffany or whoever was showing them around would direct them to someone else every time they got near. Mainly, Jessica hung around Tiffany and the Kwon’s so she didn’t experience any bad encounters.

Eventually it was time to go home and Tiffany had to sadly tell Yoona and Jessica that the car that they came here in wouldn’t be able to drive them home.

There were only a few people left at Tiffany’s since it was really late and there weren’t many to drive them home. Tiffany somewhat wanted Jiyong to drive Jessica home but she didn’t want him to figure out that Yoona and Jessica were living together, just yet. However, Jiyong’s older brother didn’t sense Tiffany’s struggles.

“Hey, we can have this kid drop Jessica home,” Minho head locked Jiyong and brought him closer to where they were standing.

“I can drop Yoona home, if she wants,” said Seunghyun, also coming closer. Minho released the head lock and Jiyong straightened up.

“Seriously? You just ruined my hair,” Jiyong grumbled and started to fix his hair.

Tiffany did not want Jiyong to know that the two lived at the same apartment. It would just make a hassle for everyone and make a higher chance of him figuring out that Jessica is Sooyeon. He didn’t realize that Yoona is Sooyeon’s friend, just yet, but Tiffany knew he would soon and then the memories of his wife would be back. There would be too many connections and she didn’t want Jiyong to piece them together. Tiffany also, kind of, wanted Jiyong to drive Jessica back home.

“Okay, that works out great!” She clapped her hands together as Jessica and Yoona stared at her. Tiffany worked fast to come up with a plan.

“But the only problem is that Yoona actually wanted to stay a bit later so she could see the house since she didn’t get a chance earlier.” Yoona nodded her head along. Jessica was about to say something but then stopped, realizing what Tiffany was doing.

“Oh, that’s fine. I can wait up,” Seunghyun said and, so it was settled.

Jiyong was to drive Jessica home-- he didn’t even have a say in it-- and then once Tiffany finished showing Yoona around Seunghyun was to drop Yoona home.

Jessica realized that she had really loosened up and was not in character anymore. She swirled in her heels and strutted towards Jiyong’s car—a trait she had mastered over the few weeks-- only to realize that she did not know where his car was.

“It’s that way,” he put a hand on her back to direct her to his car. She walked faster so that he wasn’t touching her.

“Yeah, I knew that.” The second that was out she wanted to face palm, how was she supposed to know that?

Jessica strutted towards Jiyong’s car while he walked slowly behind her. He wondered how Jessica could change personalities so quickly. When he met her earlier, at the company, she totally gave him the cold shoulder as if she was pretending that he didn't exist. Girls would sometimes pretend to act like that to get Jiyong’s attention but he could see through them.

The look Jessica had on was different and that made him even more interested in her; it wasn’t the I-hate-players-and-wish-they-go-to-hell look or the guys-like-the-chase-so-I’m-going-to-pretend-to-not-like-him kind of look, but something entirely different. It made him even more interested in her.

When she came to the party though, it was like she was someone different, he couldn't pinpoint it but she reminded him of someone. Now she was once again different. She was colder than before. It was like she was trying out all these different images to see which one she liked.

Jiyong smirked, Jessica was an interesting girl.

Chapter 14: I'm sorry for asking, but is this story from somewhere else and you just copy pasted it? First you said the Kwon's sister's name was Elisa. And then it changed to Yuri.

And then you said the best friend's name "started with an 'R' and ended with 'aiden'. But it became spelled as Seunghyun. Isn't it Raiden? It made me confused. And more than slightly curious. This is a really good fic though. But some just don't connect. Especially the names. Sorry for prying.
