“Should we tell them first?”

Sehun stopped walking in front of the study room. It has been awhile since he stepped his feet in Xi Household, because so far the only thing tied him to this place is Xiao Lu and Chanyeol, and now both of his closest brothers already lived nowhere near this hell he didn’t even care to come at family dinner no matter how their Grandma pleaded him to. Truthfully, he didn’t really like Luhan’s mother, who was the head of Xi family. First, she’s a mother so she shouldn’t be THAT scary – Sehun himself had strict mother but Sehun was born as a man, he was loved and spoiled – and she’s a heartless although she admitted that she acted that way to make her fragile boy as tough as steel.

Sehun agreed with disciplinary, but not by violence and tears. So he’s actually pleased when Luhan fought mother by getting married to a commoner man, cause he realized, some people found their happiness with stranger, more than they got at home. As a bonus, after Chanyeol and he ran a background check on Kai Kim, he agreed with Luhan that the husband was somewhat in between hot stuff and gorgeous. Sadly he’s neither interested in other people property nor was man to man relationship allowed in this world. If it’s a green light, then he’ll screw Chanyeol from a long time ago, or Wu brothers. They’re really his type.

“I know I know it’ll ruin the element of surprise, but I’ve never met the husband.” Back onto the familiar voice in the study, which drawing his interest to stay a bit longer in this hell house, he pressed his ear to the door while listening more, “I think it’s a bit inappropriate if I’m just showing up. What if Lulu freaked out? I mean, I’m not even supposed to be in Seoul.”

Yep. He knew this voice. There’s only one person who called Luhan like that, and without hesitation, Sehun knocked on the door while whispering, “Hey, Jin?” a small smile tried to twist his face into a sheepishness at the way Seok-Jin yelped in reaction to his call before it disappeared into a sudden silence. “Oh Seok-Jin,” Sehun muttered huskily, “I’ve heard your conspiracy, little brother, open the door or I’m telling everyone you’re a .”

“I’m not a !”

  Sehun laughed, cause the shout followed by the cracked sound of opening door, revealing a tall and blond haired beautiful boy glaring viciously at him, “I know.” His voice softened as well as his smile, “so, what is this surprise you planned on, sweetie?”

Kai admitted this is not the honeymoon weekend he imagined. Not even close to. It’s very promising at the beginning, like how they went to continue their date at the snowy park after they had lunch, playing a very seductive snowball fight which started when Luhan naughtily slipped a heap of snow into Kai’s back, and ended with Kai playfully tackled him to a soft and cold ground, as they laughed at each other red and runny nose. They ended the day by warming up in a coffee shop, before headed back to the beach house while whispering greedily about their upcoming night activity, including hot bath, smexy bedding time, and plenty of encore .

“SURPRISE!”

However, when they entered the house and switched the light on, a crowd of people gathered in the living room, Kai couldn’t decide whether he should kick everyone out by their butts or just died in shame to see his friends, Luhan friends, even his family gathered here, while HONEYMOON supposed to have means ‘you and I, screwing everywhere’ not ‘you and I, screwing everywhere with our family watching.’

Just, thank God he didn’t molest Luhan in the dark. He was so tempted to, a moment ago.

“So, we’ve heard you finally decide to take a break from work.” his mother grasped his palm, stared at him in the way he couldn’t just snap in annoyance. He could only stared back at her, jaw hardened and dark orbs glaring viciously, until she patted his cheek and melted him into the warmth, he could only scowl as he caressed the hand on his cheek and muttered,

“Yeah, Umma.”

Kai took a glance at dazed Luhan who was surrounded by the usual boys, added with a tall blond who was excitedly talked to his wife. He suspected it’s another cousin, since he remembered about the blond code between brothers in Luhan family.

“What’s this party about?” Kai asked his mother while eyeing the guests to find someone he hardly recognized. There are two blond men who stood next to each other while holding beer. One had a very pale skin and similar face to Luhan, only colder, and then another one was the grumpy man he met in the station, which he assumed as Park Chanyeol.

Kai cleared his throat when Chanyeol stared back at him.

“It’s a baby shower.” His brother answered with a light tap on his shoulder and a devilish grin, “It’s a surprise because if I told you to host a party, you’ll definitely refuse for nonsense reason.”

“So you’re the one who plan this?” Kai glared at Key viciously.

“Ohohoho.” Key laughed, “Sadly, it’s the boys idea.” He pointed at Luhan’ friends, “they are very awesome, all those rich teenagers. They tracked our home address in a way I don’t understand and then fetched us by helicopter and bring all of us here.” Kai winced at the mental image. He reminded his forgetful self again who Luhan was before they’re wedded and the connections his wife had. He shuddered a bit.

 “How about my friends?” he pointed at Baekki and Tao and the men from blind date, “are they in this too?” he asked Key.

“Oh, Kai.” Key sighed, “you can’t go around and killing people for ruining your vacation. That’s a crime. And we won’t be long here. We just want to celebrate the seventh month, giving our gifts to Luhan and the baby. This was a hard time for him. He need all support from family and friends.”

Kai didn’t reply, cause strangely he was thinking the same with his brother. He glanced at Luhan again, who now dragged to sit on the rug with his mother and other boys so his wife could open their gift one by one.

“So, where are Luhan’ parents?”

A sudden question from his father startled him. He turned at the man who was smiling hopefully while holding a mug of hot choco instead of beer. Kai smiled back at him as he remembered how Luhan mother looked alike and now he was unsure what to tell. “I don’t think they’ll come.” He only said, “You know riches, Dad, you watch in drama their children even had to make schedule to meet them.” he tried to make a joke to ease away the stinging pain in his chest. Of course, when a couple united in marriage, it also united the family. That’s what he forgot when he courted Luhan. That’s why Mrs.Xi hated his existence so much for now they were related by law no matter how racist she was towards anything that 'made in Japan'.

He knew his dad suspected something off from his tone, but thankfully, the older Kim only swallowed it into a small smile and a grasp on his shoulder before gesturing him to greet the rest of the men. He thanked his friends for coming, before his steps ended in front of the blonds –Luhan cousins- and suddenly his heart felt so heavy he was sure if he moved an inch it’ll collapse onto the floor.

“Oh Sehun.” The man version of Luhan stretched a hand at him, “And this grump is Park Chanyeol. We’ve never officially get introduced to you but we’re Luhan’s cousins, along with that pretty ones over there.” As he greeted them back by shaking Sehun hand, Sehun then pointed by the gaze to the tall boy in blond which now talking animatedly to Luhan, “that’s Jin, my little brother.”

“Nice to meet you. I’m Kim Kai.” He smiled and slowly found that his heart started to lighten. He admitted that he was nervous, especially under scrutinize gaze of Park Chanyeol, and pitied himself for acting this weak and pathetic. Where’s the brave husband who faced Luhan mother without fright before?

“Well,” Sehun grinned, “we’ve finally met at last. I’m already curious to meet since Luhan kept boasting about you, however I’m getting more interested in knowing you after Mother…”

“Sehun.”

Chanyeol grumbled lowly and although it’s hardly shown in his expression, Kai startled at how dangerous the warning growl sounded, until it softened into a low murmur, “just shut up.”

“Why would I?” Without fear, Sehun scrunched his face while staring at the taller blond, “Unlike you, I’m not here to intimidate Luhan' husband. He looked nice and smart and strong. I would like to be his friend… wait,” Sehun tapped Kai shoulder, “it’s not creepy if we became friends, right?” and Kai nodded in daze as he’s still trying to figure out on whose side these people stands for.

“Intimidate? Why would I intimidate him?!”

“Well, I assumed from your scary face and your assignment as Luhan’s guard dog.”

Chanyeol scoffed, “Not anymore.” The man corrected with a hiss, “Man, if I really a dog I’ll rip your mouth into pieces right now.”

“Hmph, you always had with my mouth.”

Are you guys dating?

That’s the first thing flashed in Kai mind and he was shocked by himself for thinking that way. Man-man relationship wasn’t common in this world. He heard how despicable the world’s community reacted to it, even as joke it went into court material with very serious punishment. Personally he couldn’t believe it how a man could be attracted to another man but who he was to judge so he only cleared his throat and continued smiling, maybe a bit wary now.

“What?” Unfortunately, what he had been thinking leaked out to be seen by Chanyeol. “What are you laughing at?” asked the flaming blond man in sinister.

Kai pursed his lips, “I’m not laughing.” He said with honesty, “just curious with something. Please excuse me.” He left them to find Luhan, before he had to witness more of their weird interaction and burdening his mind with stupid questions.

“Chanyeol and Sehun, are they in relationship?”

Later in the night, when he’s already in bed with Luhan, after the exhausting party which skipped all the evening plan into cuddling and resting from too much laugh and squeal, he finally asked it to his wife, who was in return looked back at him with thoughtful look.

“Not to each other.” Luhan answered, “They’re sharing bed and lover.” although it’s not as taboo as man-man , it’s still uncommon and left Kai with a tinge of discomfort all around his skin. He shouldn’t ask in the first place. Just by imagining the idea of sharing the one he beloved with another man set his mind into fury. How could he do that? Love might be consensual but that’s also in different portion. Like, Kai loved his best friends but that doesn’t mean he would marry Tao or Kyungsoo. He only married to Luhan and that’s the portion of love which only belongs to Luhan.

“I don’t understand.” Kai furrowed his eyebrows, finally stopped trying to figure out things.

“Me neither.” Luhan answered with a sigh, “It’s a secret from family, although everyone else knew. Even their fiancée knew.”  

“They also had fiancée?”

“Yeah.” Luhan looked up, “Lay is Sehun’ fiancée while Chanyeol was engaged to a girl from Kim Group. I forgot her name. But just like my mom and dad, they all agreed that their marriage will only for the purpose of alliance and heirs, so they don't share bed. Not even lived at the same house.” The mother smiled when the crease in between Kai eyebrows deepened. “It’s different from our life, isn’t it?”

“It’s so cold.” Kai replied.

“Don’t think about it.” Luhan snuggled more into his chest with a content sigh escaped the lips, “they’re not us and so we won’t understand how people could stand getting married without love.”

“Because we love each other?” Kai chuckled while hugging his wife tighter, “just like in drama?”

“This is no drama.” Luhan whined.

“Yes, but still a story.” Kai pecked Luhan cheek, “still a love story in between Kim Kai and Kim Luhan.” he laughed at the kick he got from the swollen belly, “okay, okay, I don’t mean to forget mentioning my little one. You too, Kim Ruka. You’ll be the greatest part in our life.”
