“My husband is so …”

Luhan sighed into his green tea frappe as he hung out with his best friends in campus’s café. For a while, his memory was filled with the last night moment where Kai took liberty to shave him and as if it’s not embarrassing enough having his husband staring intently at his crotch, Kai decided to brush his ‘bald’ skin a few times to make sure there’s no roots left and made Luhan wet himself. Thank God he didn’t spray his pee on Kai’s face, although it could be a nice payback.

After a while, he’d only welcomed with silence so he looked up to find any reaction from his friends. It’s odd that they looked awkward with his words, Luhan started speaking again, now in question, “What?” He shrugged cluelessly, “am I doing something wrong?”

“No, just…” Suho smiled shyly as the beauty said, “Unlike you, we’re never married, Luhan, and although we really curious why your husband affected you so much, we didn’t really know how to react.” And to see the red tint of blush covered his friends’ cheeks, Luhan realized they were still . Well, he didn’t know about Min since Min was the only one with boyfriend.

The thing is, Luhan shouldn’t tell them about the dirtiness of his marriage life. It was the part of his private life. It’ll be inappropriate to be spread along with everyone. Okay, they were his friends since he could remember so he thought it’s okay to share some funny story or new cute things about his husband, as long as it’s not about the glory of their dirty love making in bed, like, Kai had a thing with having ‘encore’ in their afterglow, cause the man admitted, it’s very arousing to see his come flowing out from Luhan.

Luhan bit his bottom lips. God, suddenly he craved for encore …

He took a glance at the wall clock, it was still 1 PM, and if he was lucky, his husband will be home at 5. So he controlled his breath, to calm down the heat inside him and returned his attention to his friends. He managed to smile apologetically at them and murmured a ‘sorry’ to melt the anxiety around them. He even joked by encouraging them to get married soon so they could experience love life in the same way with him.

“Huh, you’re lucky, Luhan…” Min scoffed in return, “You had Jackpot as your husband, that’s why it’s easy for you to say that…”

“He’s right, Lu.” Lay nodded, but when everyone thought he was helping Min scolded Luhan, the calm boy snickered instead with, “you don’t have to listen to someone who had heart break. They lived in a hell of life-…”

“ you, Princess Aurora...” Min grumbled, while in the background, Luhan and Suho already giggled at seeing their internal confrontation. It’s fine. It happened almost every time.

“You can’t me, Minnie. Your is only decoration. It can’t even stand straight.” Lay said thoughtfully, “and stop weeping about your ex. He’s happy with the boy from the Chemistry Lab now, why don’t you move on and find someone better?”

“Just shut up!”

Luhan stared at now sulking Min and he suddenly had crazy idea, “Minnie, how about Chen from my husband work? He looked nice.”

“And he was interested so much in you, Minnie.” Suho added with an anticipating nod.

“Why him?” Min groaned in displease, “I don’t want him. He’s old.”

“He’s in the same age with Kai!” Luhan snapped in panic.

“So what? Your husband is old.”

“And –cough– a e.”

Luhan pouted. It’s too easy for Lay to cross to Min’s side and for the nth-time not because he decided to marry for a blind love, but because they still believe he only loved Kai’s face and Kai’s charming smile and Kai’s y smirk. He admitted they were right. But that’s not everything. His love for Kai won’t stop with physical attraction cause he craved to own the whole of the man, not only the body, heart, and mind.

His mouth itched to tell this to his friends, but he had a feeling it was useless for them just to hear it as a story. His friends had to experience it themselves just so they could understand the joy of getting bonded into an eternal relationship.

“Can’t blame him, guys…” he said with giddy smile, “who can’t reject me when I’m this cute?”

When Luhan waved good bye to Minnie and Suho in front of the café and then headed to the Art Faculty with Lay, a familiar black sedan pulled over next to the side walk and Sehun creepy smile greeted him from the opened window, “Hey Cuties…”

“Oh-Bastard.” Lay faking a cough.

“My love.” Sehun answered it with y smile.

What are you doing here, Sehunnie?” Luhan walked near the car in confusion, before he saw the glimpse of the person who sat in the back, his eyes widened and his back tensed in anxiety. Sensing the threat, his baby began contracted, beating harshly in him that he need to calm himself down and brushed the bump in his lower stomach to stop his baby from torturing itself.

“Mother wanted to talk to you, Lu.” Sehunnie smiled a bit worryingly. But he eyed Lu, promised that nothing would happen with the now nervous boy and the Lady of Xi House really meant to talk. “Can you please get in?”

Luhan stilled. He shook his head, but Sehun gave him a pleading look so he cleared his throat and walked to the back door. His hand was shaking, when he reached the knob and pulled it open, just to face the scariest person on earth, leisurely sit why checking her appearance in small mirror. Luhan slowly get in and sat with his body glued to the door, so he could immediately escaped when his mother started pulling his hair or throwing things at him.

“Then we’ll be going, cutie… keep until our marriage day, okay?” Sehun snickered at Lay and got hit with backpack on his face, “ouch, that was hurt!”

“You’re disgusting.” Lay smiled coldly.

“Yeah I love you too, sweety…”

Another hit from the back pack but now Sehun only laughed it off.

 “Sehun.”

Luhan shuddered. Next to him, Mother whispered a soft warning to the white-blond and Sehun immediately drove to the exit of Campus ground. For a moment, silence filled in the car and Luhan started to think he shouldn’t get in. He shouldn’t be in the same place with his mother cause that’s only mean bad news.

“How was your baby?” Luhan startled when his mother suddenly spoke. He turned at her, could only stare dazedly before his mouth unconsciously opened to say,

“Good. It’s developing as it should.”

She eyed her nicely polished nails, “Hmph, that’s boring.”

Luhan felt ill at her words. He wanted to snap back but this is his mother. No matter how cruel she was, he can’t just shout out his anger. So with clenched heart, he took a deep breath and swallowed the emotion back into his throat. He’s not a child anymore. He’s a mother now, so he had to be mature and accept the reality no matter how ugly it was.

Luhan tucked his head down and he caught the glimpse of small diamond in his wedding ring. He reminded about his husband and it made him smile, despite the tension he had to face within his mother he knew he’s not alone. Kai would always be there for him.

“I met your husband.”

Luhan froze. The words had no emotion in it but it was enough to make him stoned. Fear, worry, anxiety was all in him and he didn’t know what to react. He was curious, of course, whether his mother saying the truth or not, and if it was really happened, what’s going on in the meeting. Did Kai knew her real character, or maybe she played nice in front of Kai to find the fatal flaw from his husband so she could shove it to him, and laughed him for being stupidly in love with stranger.

“Shortly,” the Mother took a glance at Luhan, before she smirked nastily, making Luhan really wanted to open the door and jumped out this car no matter how bruised he would be later, “I like him.”

“Eh?”

Luhan felt his energy drained, and suddenly he felt numb, like he became an empty shell. What did mother just say?? He asked himself in disbelief.

“He’s very charming and strong…” Seeing Luhan wouldn’t say a word, the mother looked at the front again, “A very strong-willed personality, even though I cornered him that much, he didn’t break into tears. He kept rebelling to me, kept surprising me and truthfully he made me feel really good.”

Now Luhan gaped. ‘Mother, please don’t tell me you harassed him ually or what, cause I will sue you and will make sure you get into jail for touching mine!’ his heart said in both worry and fury, when his mother turned at him, she laughed at seeing his scrunched face, “oh boy.” She patted Luhan in the cheek, making the boy yelped cause his mother seldom-ly touching him with affection. It felt strange, to feel how warm and comforting her hand was. She’s truly his mother, after all.

“You think I him, don’t you?”

Luhan bit his bottom lips, refused to nod or answering it directly.

“Well, yeah.” She chuckled again, now with reddening face which made Luhan tensed again, didn’t even mind growling lowly, “I mean, not physically. I his mind, staining his definition of pure and innocent love. I said to him, something so perfect like that only happened in dream and he should wake up.”

“Why?” Luhan whined in displease, knowing that he couldn’t strangle his mother to death, “Why you had to be so cruel to him? You never cared with my life, so if I’m happy with him, why it bother you so much?”

“That’s interesting question.” She answered calmly, while taking out her phone, “just for you, I recorded my conversation with your husband, in case I need to black mail him in the future.” Luhan grumbled in reaction, “and I really fascinated with his feeling for you, I mean, when Chanyeol brought his picture, I thought he’s only with gorgeous face, but as I know him better, I made conclusion that he’s really nice person. Shame he had to marry you.”

“Don’t say that.” Luhan was so fluttered when his mother praising Kai. She’s hardly taking interest with people, especially men, so Luhan felt slightly happy that Kai was included into her OK-list. But the last words really frustrating to hear, cause even he admitted himself, Kai was too perfect for him. “He chose me. He loved me. Nothing can change that.”

“I know.” His mother shrugged, before replaying her recorded conversation with Kai and let Luhan listened it carefully from the first till the end.

‘Excuse me I’m Kim Kai…’

“It’s either you sign this letter or I’ll bring Luhan home.”

Kai blinked from his unconscious. His eyes glared at Luhan’s mother who slipped back into her cold façade and offered him a pen. He didn’t move a limb, only stared at her with hardened expression. He wanted to hate her, badly, by signing the agreement and freed Luhan from the nightmare. But that’s now how his world worked. He learned that running away from problem won’t solve it and if he agreed to her term, it means he was afraid of her while he’s actually not. This lady only wanted to manipulate him with her harsh words just so he would do whatever she wanted.

“No, I won’t.”

That’s why Kai took the letter and ripped it into pieces instead, making sure to witness how her eyes widened and slightly agaped, apparently didn’t sure he preferred to challenge her, no, challenge the Xi family and their relatives.

“Let our marriage haunted you, let my damned blood ashamed you, cause I don’t think you deserved living in peace, Ma’am. You can take Luhan from me, but you can’t wipe my dirt on him, no matter how hard you scrub him clean. He’ll still love me, still dying without me.” The cloud in his eyes cleared, the burden in heart lifted and he began smiling darkly, let her knew his true nature. “And if you dare laying a hand on him, I won’t hesitate to hurt you.”

He’s not really a hot-headed person, but it’s easy for him to look scary and make his threat looked so convincing. Hence, he’s not even pissed with her anymore because he believed she understand what he meant. This is not about family fortune, or if he asked for acknowledgement to their unborn child. This is about him, refused to be her puppet and did everything she asked for the sake of freedom. He wanted to have a simple marriage life with Luhan, but he also knew the real freedom was only in his last breath when his soul finally set his body free from his duty as human being.

“Are you threatening me?” She asked him, a bit surprised.

“Yes, I’m threatening you Ma’am.”

A small smile appeared on her lips, “You just don’t know who I am. I can put you into jail for nothing, Kim Kai.”

“I don’t care.”

Now the confidence was back in him, he watched it in joy as she became restless because of his determination, “even in my death, you can’t keep me away from Luhan.”

“I’m home.”

When the front door opened, Luhan immediately jumped at Kai, hugging his husband neck as tight as he could.

“What’s wrong… Hey, Umma? Why are you crying again?” He sobbed when he felt Kai placing down the briefcase and wrapped his trembling back with a loving embrace. It was too much, this love and obsession and addiction he had to get from this man. Kai was too brave and too reckless to fight back his scary Mother, but what made him sobbed more, Kai defeated her, cracked the cold ice in her heart and gained special attention from her.

“Appa…” he mourned, “My mother...” He felt more tears dampening his already wet cheek, “I’m sorry… my mother just so… uhh… but you… but you….” he can’t even manage to make a complete sentence without crying harder cause Kai wiped his tears and Kai smiled at him in understanding. Somehow it felt sad, somehow it hurt him more for the man he loved to experience his hard life while he tried so hard to protect Kai from it.

“I admit, Lu, your mother is really scary…”

Kai whispered into Luhan’s bare shoulder, after the man asked him to take bath together so they could clean their body from hard feelings and talked about it in more comfortable way. Now they dipped in the tub together, Kai sat on an end while Luhan leaning his back to Kai’s chest, let his husband rested a hand on their baby and another hand ruffling his damp hair.

Luhan sighed, “yeah…” said him in defeat, cause he couldn’t agree more, “but you’re also very great, you can cornered her back. She can’t stop talking about you then, kept telling me how you gave her ‘pleasure’ and made her feel ‘young’ again. It’s very frustrating to hear…”

“Really?” Kai eyes widened, “Whoa she’s so …”

Luhan looked up, really wanted to say, ‘as if you’re not, Appa!’ but they were and in bath, he afraid he would face consequence for saying that. So he only smiled and snuggling more into Kai’s skin, let his husband embraced him to ease away the tension in both their hearts. “Actually, Lu, I didn’t expect she would meet you this soon and tell you about our conversation. She looked merciless and cruel.”

“Well, she didn’t.” Luhan smiled wider, “She taped it and made me listened it, from the beginning till the end.”

“Whoaah…” Kai gaped again, “I don’t know what to say anymore…”

Luhan giggled as he scooted to peck the gaping lips, “Kyaah you’re so cute Appa!”

Kai chuckled too along with him, enjoyed his invitation for a kiss and for a while, the sound of their clashed teeth and lips and internal moans filling the night, until kissing wasn’t enough to address the desire and Kai dug in between his legs, preparing him for intrusion.

“Hey, Love…”

Luhan blinked in daze, as he lay in the middle of their bed with Kai still on the top, inside, all around him. He smiled softly, feeling the beating sound and the warmth filling his body. This is why his friends should get married. When he was down and stressed out there’s only one person who can make him happy again and reminded himself that the whole of him was loved; no reason, no exception.

Luhan brushed his fingers on his husband face, “Appa, are you okay? I know it’s really a hard day for you…”

“Yes, I’m broken heart.” Kai smiled sadly, “But I believe you’ll always be there to fix me up.”

A sharp pain hit Luhan in the chest. His eyes got teary, for the nightmare he had to share with his husband and how the man took the cuts and bruises to protect him. However, he bit the inside of his cheek, instead being a crybaby again and sobbed into Kai’s arms, he inhaled a deep breath before muttering a hoarse, “I love you…”

“I love you I love you I love you I love you…”

“It’s okay I know…” Kai murmured softly.

“No, I won’t stop saying it.” Luhan immediately hugged Kai again, in hope their heart could really met and melted into one, “until my breath leave my body. I will still love you, no matter who you are or where you came from, or if our story had to end…” and kept hugging the man tightly as he said,

“Because I know there’s no right or wrong when it comes to love.”
