Yoora sneak a last glance of her standing figure on the mirror reflection. She grips the strap of her sling bag, feeling the nervous feeling slowly bottle up once again. Chewing on her lower lip, she takes a big shot of air before she nodded to herself.

“You can do it! Act normal! Don’t need to feel so nervous,” Don’t do it just like this morning , she continued in her head.

Clenching her fist on her dress skirt, she slowly makes herself downstairs. She rehearsed and composed all of her words in her head so she can casually spend this evening with Luhan without feeling too awkward.

“Someone looking very pretty today,” her mom suddenly said, peeking her head slightly from the kitchen door frame. Yoora blush slightly and pretend not to care. She playfully rolled her eyes making the woman to let out a teasing laugh.

“Where’s appa?” she ask, scooting closer to the stove, eyeing the appetizing-looking galbi—jjim,  one of her favorites dish. Too bad she will not be able to taste that today, not that she had any complain. The thoughts of spending today’s dinner with Luhan is enough to make her full.

“Probably on his way home,” Mrs Lee said, continue stirring the broth inside the pot. That is exactly when they heard the clicking sound of the front door being access making both of them to automatically glance to the entrance direction.

“Speak of the devil,” her mom said and Yoora smiled “I’ll go and get him.” She informed before leaving her mom alone in the kitchen.

As soon she passes through the entryway to the kitchen, her feet automatically stop. Yoora couldn’t hide her shock at the figure she just saw walking along with her father. Her father seems to notice her and the old man could only look at his daughter in confusion.

“Yoora,” he called and immediately the girl snapped from her trance “—what are you doing there, standing alone? We have guest,” he said, puckering his lips towards the figure behind him. The figure of the person whose making she froze in her steps.

“Luhan,” she breathe out and the guy only reply with his breathtaking smile of his before he uttered a cheer “Hey,”

“H-How?”

“I saw him standing outside the house, alone. He said he’s here to take you out,” her father answered instead and he raises his brows in questioning. Yoora could detect the teasing look her dad was giving her.

Yoora brows furrowed slightly before she turn her head down to take a look on her wrist.  They promised each other to meet at 6.30 and that is ten minutes more.

“Sorry, did I come too early?” Luhan ask, looking at her slightly uneasy –noticing that she is looking at her wrist watch.

“No! No you didn’t,” she reply a bit too fast and she could hear her dad was snickering to her speedy response.  She grew red thinking that she just make it more obvious. She really considered running and locking herself in the room out of embarrassment when she hear Luhan let out a relief sigh “Thank god,” and all of her worries just disappeared into thin air.

“How long have you been standing outside?” she ask, genuinely curious. They boy fidget for  a second before he shyly rub his exposed arm “Around fifteen minutes, I think,” he honestly said and Yoora only look at him in shock.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t know. You should have called me sooner. Sorry for making you wait so long,” she said guiltily. Luhan smile and shook his head “No big deal,”

The both keep on exchanging shy interaction and Yoora actually have forgotten about her dad standing near them. When she looks at him, the old man only gave her a grin and making the guy to robotically go stiffen yet again.

This is so awkward.

 “Are you ready?” Luhan voice beat the silence and Yoora nodded, taking the first initiative to slowly walking closer towards him. She saw how Luhan checking her outfit out in a glance and she swear she never feel this nervous.  It feel like she’s been judged by a fashion police, which she noted quite true since Luhan is always on his best outfit every time they meet outside the school.

Her nervous went completely flying when she hear a soft “Pretty” coming from him –too soft and quiet for her to clearly hear it. Her head immediately turn to look at him but the guy gave her a questioning look instead which she sure he just faking it. Her ears couldn’t deceive her, right?

“Huh?” she chocked, completely baffled by the sudden praise but Luhan just shook his head, and didn’t make the effort to repeat himself. Instead, the guy’s grin grew wider before he broke into a soft chuckle. Cute

“Nothing. Are you ready?” he asks and the girl could only blankly nod.

 “Great, let’s go then!” he said and Yoora pulse beats faster when he boldly grab her wrist in front of her father.

“Then we will be making our way first. Have a nice night Mr Lee, Mrs Lee,” he said bowing his body slightly at the couple who buy now standing side by side with a small grin plastered on their face.

“Take care of my daughter, Luhan,” the old man makes a short reminder and Luhan nodded instantly “Definitely,”

Still in her blank state, she could only follow when Luhan softly dragged her body to the front door. Yoora take a last glance at her parents and she could form the word her mother mouthing at her “Fighting!” before she disappeared behind the door.

The first few minutes of the bus rode was partly awkward and partly filled with secret glance and shy smiles. Yoora could see how Luhan tried to slowly make things to work between them. How he keep constantly start a conversation and how he makes sure the talks keep going despite her being an awkward statue by herself. But he did not give up, even when his questions were only shortly replied.
