A/N: Okay, this is really short. Really. I'll explain at the bottom.

It was too hot, that’s the first thing that Danny noticed as he came to his senses. It was the kind of heat that only came on mornings that he’d snuck over to his daddy’s bed. Opening his eyes and taking in his surroundings, Danny remembered he was not at home. He was in the hospital. 

That was the first thing he noticed. The second was the source of the head indeed being his appa hugging him tightly. Danny tried to wiggle his way out of the embrace rather unsuccessfully. Instead of managing an escape, the boy sat up as far as he could to check on his Uncle Taemin and Minmin hyung. He surveyed the room and found it empty of who he was expecting;however his little heart thrummed as he spotted one of his favoritest hyungs ever. Its Jong-hyung! He exclaimed internally. He would have exclaimed aloud but he didn’t want to wake up his dad. 

It seemed like he didn’t need to call out for his attention because Jong-hyung made his way over to his side of the bed. With a soft smile on his face, he reached out and helped Danny escape the prison of his dad’s arm. As he shimmied out of his dad’s embrace, Danny hopped off the bed. 

“Good Morning, buddy,” Jonghyun said softly, before bending down to kiss Danny’s forehead. “How are you feeling?”

Danny smiled up at his favoritest hyung and smiled. He wasn’t sure exactly what the look he was receiving was, but he knew that it was special. It was different than the way Uncle Woo or Jinwoon looked at him, and much more like the way his appa looked at him. Even though he didn’t know exactly what the look could be called, it made him feel good. 

“I’m okay,” Danny smiled, then remembered why he got up in the first place. “I gotta pee though.”

Jonghyun laughed but moved out of the way so Danny could make his way to the restroom at the back of the room. It wasn’t easy to maneuver around with his case, but Danny tried to do the best he could to not make a mess. His daddy had always said that it was super duper important to wash your hands because it got rid of all the nasty bacteria that could make you sick. He even sang the hand washing song softly to make sure that he washed for long enough. Well, what he could get without wetting the cast on his arm. 

It was starting to itch and Danny started to think about things. When he went to sleep yesterday, Jong hyung hadn’t been there. Maybe he came early this morning? Danny thought to himself. Nah, there was a baby bed at the edge of the room. Did he sleep in the baby bed? He giggled. 

After drying his hands, Danny walked out of the restroom and was met with Jonghyun hyung waiting for him with a finger to his lips. He turned and saw that his appa was moving around a little on the bed but was still asleep.

Bending down, Jonghyun whispered in his ear, “Hey, how about we go get some breakfast from the cafeteria to let Appa sleep a little more?” Danny nodded eagerly, tummy rumbling with hunger. He lifted his not broken hand which was quickly taken by his hyung, while also noticing how comfy it felt.

“Where are Uncle Taemin and Uncle Minmin?” Danny asked. 

“Taemin is getting some more scans done, just to make sure the doctor didn’t miss anything yesterday.” 

“He had a bunch of tests yesterday, maybe he didn’t do too good on them,” Danny reasoned out loud. 

They walked down the hallway with arms swinging, smiling at each other every so often. Danny lifted his other hand and ran it along the walls of the hallway. “Baby, you shouldn’t do that, you could hurt your hand again.” Although Danny wasn’t overly fond of being scolded, it was easy to see the worry on Jong-hyung’s face, so he lowered his hand to rest against his body and nodded. 

It was kinda weird that Jong-hyung called him baby, since no one but his dad did, but he figured it wasn't so bad. He kinda liked it even. 

“Did you sleep in the baby bed?” Danny questioned in the elevator.

“It’s not a baby bed silly, its a cot that fits in smaller spaces.” 

“Is it because you’re fun sized?” Danny laughed. It was a term Jonghyun had taught him because he was only a little bit shorter than his dad, but a whole lot smaller than Uncle Minmin.   

“Yeah, but mainly because I didn’t wanna leave you guys.”

Danny nodded in understanding. Even though he liked staying over with his grandma and with his uncles, his favorite was waking up at home with his appa. It made him feel safe, maybe he and his dad made Jonghyun feel safe. 

They made their way to the cafeteria that actually happened to have a variety of booths that they could pick from. Danny really liked that his hyung took him through the different lines to look at the options and let him pick his own food. The silly nurses yesterday just brought him things they thought he would like, but he didn’t want a hamburger. Especially a regular boring hamburger without any veggies or good cheese. When he suggested they bring some, they didn’t know what he was talking about. They didn't even know what good cheese was!

After walking around, Danny finally decided on eggs benedict. He was picked up and sat on Jonghyun's side in order to give specific instructions to the lady behind the counter. He had to make sure that they put the sauce on the side because he didn’t want the muffin to get soggy and he wanted the salmon and not the ham. The lady behind the counter had a weird look on her face, like she was not happy about making the food, so Danny pouted at her. Lots of people gave him what he wanted when he pouted. 

She, however, did not smile at him. Jonghyun hyung spoke up for him though, "This poor boy suffered a car accident, I think the least we could do is get him some eggs benedict, don't you think?" The lady didn't seem happy, but nodded anyways. 

"Thanks," Danny whispered into his hyung's ear before being put down so they could pay for the food. 

They sat at one of the tables and dug into their food. "So what did the doctor tell you yesterday?" Jonghyun asked, taking a drink from his coffee. It looked yummy but Danny knew he couldn’t drink coffee. 

"He just splained about my arm. He said that I had to wear this green thing for some weeks so that the bone could glue itself back together." Danny said, raising his arm. "But its kinda cool because I got to pick the color and the doctor said that if I wanted I could write on it!"

"That's pretty cool, why isn't there anything written on it now?" Jonghyun questioned looking at the solid green cast. 

“Well, Daddy and Uncle Taemin wanted to put their names on it, but I said no. Its my arm, why would it have their names? And I didn’t have time to think about what else to write on it cause they gave me medicine that made me sleepy.” Danny replied. “Maybe when I go back to school Ah Young can help me draw on it. She draws really good.” 

The two chit-chatted for a little while longer about the different things that could be drawn on the cast. The idea of a safari being the leading one. 

​“Did you win your ward?” Danny asked, remembering that the reason he was gonna stay with Uncle Taemin was because there was an award show. 

“Yep,” Jonghyun answered. 

“That’s cool.” Danny nodded. “Did you have to give a speech and everything?” Instead of answering, Jonghyun just nodded his head, going a little red in the face. “Why are you red? Are you choking? There are doctors everywhere! Do I call one?”

Jonghyun shook his head, “No baby, I’m fine. Just a little embarrassed about the speech is all.”

“Why?” Danny asked, figuring that maybe he forgot to thank his mom or something. He was pretty sure if he ever got a ward, his Appa was the first person who he would thank. Or else he’d probably get a scolding. 

“Uh, I dunno.”

“Did you forget your mom?” There was a head shake. “Did you talk from your heart?” A nod. “Then what’s there to be ‘mbarrassed about?” Danny question, polishing off the rest of his food and taking his chocolate milk in his hands. To him, grown ups always said confusing things. Like they made a big deal outta nothing. So maybe he didn’t put his shoes where they belonged, the world wasn’t going to end. So maybe he wanted cake for dinner, that didn’t mean he was gonna get a thousand cavities. The grown ups were always lookin for trouble. 

“Its kind of weird to talk about.” Jonghyun commented quietly. 

“Why?” Danny asked again. Really it was the only way to get people to talk about what they were thinking about. His daddy called it a ‘why phase’ but to Danny, it was the best way to get answers. 

“Well…” Jonghyun answered, sounding kinda nervous. “I may have kinda said that I was in love with your appa even though I’ve never even told him or even talked about it but I couldn’t help myself because you guys just make me so happy and IhopeyouknowIloveyoutoo.” Knowing that he wasn’t too happy about all that he had said, Danny wanted his hyung to know that it was okay so he got up from his seat and walked over to the other side of the table. Jong looked a little surprised but he didn’t seem to mind and Danny climbed in his lap and gave him a hug. 

“I love you too, and I’m pretty sure that Daddy does too.” He said, placing a kiss on his cheek just cause. 

“Thanks.” HIs favoritist hyung replied hugging him back really hard. “And I have a surprise for you back in the room,” he whispered. 

As  much as Jonghyun hyung seemed to have needed the hug, now all Danny could think about was the surprise waiting for him back in the room. Not that he didn't care about the love that Jong hyung felt, but he figured that love didn't need to be  talked about as long as it was felt, and Danny felt plenty loved by him. Hoping not to seem too eager, Danny shyly lifted his face to see the big smile on the elders face. 

"So what's my surprise?" Danny asked completely enticed by the idea of a gift. 

“It wouldn’t be a surprise if I told you, now would it?” Jonghyun teased.

Danny laughed, “Well I’m gonna find out anyway!”

With their breakfast, and rather anti-climactic heart to heart, over the pair returned to the room where Key was still sleeping. They did, however, find that Minho and Taemin were back from wherever they had gone early in the morning. Danny watched how his Uncle Minmin was kinda just soft around Taemin. It was funny cause when he was dealing with other people, like mean waiters or people at his company he was not soft. Kinda how his Appa was soft with Jonghyun, but not with the delivery people who always messed up. 

Maybe his Appa was in love too? That was kinda gross. But it could be good too. Ah Young was always telling him that she had a mommy and a daddy, while Danny only had one daddy. She said that her mommy wouldn’t let her eat candy though, and she could only watch Lilo & Stitch once a week! So Danny didn’t really want a mommy, but a second daddy could be good. 

Jonghyun hyung was always surprising him and being super nice, so maybe he could get a second dessert with dinner if he got a second dad. Did that mean he would get two of everything? Because his birthday was coming up and his friend JiHo had two daddies and two mommies and he had two different parties. If he had two dads, could he have two parties? Maybe he could ask for a pool party. 

Thinking about the last pool party he went to and the silly floaties his appa wore so Danny wouldn’t be the only one with them on made him laugh.

“What’s so funny, baby?” His daddy questioned, having stirred awake by the noise in the room.

“Nooooothing,” Danny replied. He decided to shrug off the question, and turn the attention back to the surprise he was supposed to get. “So where is my present?” Maybe he could talk to his dad about the two birthday parties when they went home.

“Danny!” Key scolded from the bed, “You’re not supposed to ask for presents like that.” Instead of apologizing, Danny thought he should explain to his dad before thought Danny had gone crazy and forgotten all the manners he had taught him.     

“Its okay, Key. I told him that I had a present for him while we were having breakfast,” Jong hyung interrupted, almost as if he heard Danny’s thoughts. Oh my God. Maybe he can read minds. ‘Jonghyun hyung, I want a cookie!’ he shouted internally. “It’s not like he’s asking for something out of the blue.”

“Yeah, Appa.” Danny couldn’t help but add with a chiding smile. So maybe he couldn’t, but that would be cool. 

“Stop ganging up on me!” His daddy cried out, “First you go to breakfast without me, and now this?”

That was when Jonghyun pulled a bag out from behind the cot that Danny hadn’t noticed before. He walked over and sat on the bed with his hyung and started pulling out some awesome animals out of the bag. There was a lion, a giraffe, an elephant and a turtle. His mouth dropped open in excitement. 

“Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!” He said quickly, and giving out a hug.

“You’re welcome,” the little boy only vaguely heard due to all the planning going on in his head. He had to think of names and where he was gonna put his new animals. His dad said he couldn’t keep them on the bed anymore because he wasn’t gonna fit with them. 

“Chipmunk the Hippo finally has a wife!” he called out to everyone in the room, showing off the giraffe. “I think her name will be Squirrel.” Thinking about his nearly complete zoo had Danny smiling brightly.

After deciding the names, and the future families that he could form with all 27 of his animals, Danny started to think about going home. “Daddy, when can we go home?” he asked, quickly getting bored of the hospital’s environment.

“Soon.” Both Jong hyung and his Key appa replied at the same time. Danny just nodded, completely missing the shocked look on all of the grown-up’s faces.

A/N: Okay, so as you may have noted this chapter was written in Danny's perspective. And holy crap it was difficult to write. I kind of tried to stay in the mindset but I couldn't help but kind of elaborate more in some places. I'm sorry if its crap. But I tried! My sister keeps telling me that its not as much in perspective as my other chapters but ahhh its just really difficult to write with the mindset of a four year old. I mean I’m not a gay man in a relationship either lol but idk. It was just hard to write. I hope you are at least somewhat satisfied with it. 

Anyways, I was also going to add the that I have planned but it felt kind of wrong to add that to Danny's chapter, you know?

So I'll put that up later. 

Sorry for taking so long, work has kind of been all over the place. AND MY LAPTOP CHARGER KILLED ITSELF TWO DAYS AGO.  Seriously. I typed most of this at work.
