Oddness
Bittersweet
"What the-" Miyoung bit hard on her lower lip to stop herself from cursing. Even though what Sehun said was beyond ridiculous, she didn’t want to show her indignation so openly. There was long moment of silence – awkward silence – before the girl forced a chuckle to distract from the awkwardness. "What are you talking about?" She laughed a little.
What made Miyoung frown was that Sehun only shrugged his shoulders in response. However, she chose not to mention it anymore and only quietly walked ahead.
The walk back to the university was wordless and Miyoung immersed herself in Sehun's "warning" earlier. Why would he say that to her? Aside from the fact that she wasn't falling in love with him – she did admire him a lot – why would he be so bold and say that? And even if she was falling in love with him, such a warning was just ... weird. But what confused her even more was that he'd said it without any touch of arrogance. He'd sounded so serious and almost, even if that was contradicting, modest.
It was as if he hadn't just said something so bold and arrogant. It was as if he'd warned her not to catch a cold or the like.
So weird, Miyoung mused, blowing some strands of her hair out of her face. She then politely bade Sehun goodbye before going back to her room. Once inside, she let herself plop onto the bed and buried her face in her pillow.
Sehun Oppa is so weird, she repeated mentally before she suddenly sat up. “I mean, why the hell does he give me such a weird warning?” She grumbled quietly, staring up at the ceiling.
But somehow, in a ridiculously illogical way, his weird warning aroused even more of her curiosity. For him to give her such a warning, what was his reason? He certainly didn't seem like someone who'd simply say this out of the blue only to show off. Even though Miyoung hadn't known him for long, from what she'd seen so far, he really wasn't that kind of a person. More so, since his tone had sounded so down to earth, contrary to the content. He would have a serious reason, right?
Before Miyoung knew what happened, her imagination had already begun creating scenarios in the back of her mind. Was he perhaps sick and didn't want her to fall in love because he might die?
Miyoung strongly shook her head in an attempt to scatter those ridiculous thoughts. She'd definitely watched too many dramas. Slapping her cheeks, she forced herself to be more rational when assuming things. Maybe he had just made bad experience with someone falling in love with him? Or maybe he was broken-hearted and not ready for a new love?
Miyoung's heated up and she squeezed her eyes shut, shaking her head again. She'd read far too many books as well. But maybe it was close to that. He might not necessarily suffering a broken heart, but be just a incommunicative and withdrawn into himself. He could have problems opening up to others? Maybe … just maybe, he was just as sick of all the hypocrisy in the world as she was. To the point where he didn't want to get involved with anyone anymore.
A heavy sigh escaped her lips. Usually, she wasn't this interested in people, for she, as well, was more withdrawn into herself. But this boy, Oh Sehun … there was something to him. Something that made him so interesting for her. Her first impression of him had been so good that it made her ignore his odd behaviour today. Maybe he was someone who had a rude and rather cold exterior, but actually a soft heart?
He had helped that child at the airport after all, hadn't he?
She sighed again before burying her face in the pillow again. Not only was it so unusual for her to think about another person so much, but the fact that it was also to the extent where she associated beautiful characteristics she'd always dreamed of in a man in him just threw her off road.
Miyoung wasn't like this usually. She was by far more unimpressionable, actually.
The third loud and long sighed slipped from her as she sat up to get the vitamin pills from her bag. She had forgotten them this morning and it was a wonder that she hadn't felt weak or anything earlier.
Perhaps she was simply over-thinking things. Perhaps she was far too lost in the image she'd created after finding out that he was the boy from the airport.
