JYJ
A Chance to Change the PastA/N: Hi, everybody.
Alright, this is it. Looking at the chapter title, I guess you all already have a hint on what might happen in this chapter.
Oh, god. Here we go.
“Oh, god, that nap felt good!” Yunho groaned as he stepped out of his and Jaejoong’s bedroom, stretching his arms high above his head and yawning.
It was around half past one in the afternoon, and we had just been having a lazy day in the suite, mainly because the boys really to needed rest and relax for a change. So, Yunho had gone back to bed after breakfast, skillfully evading Jaejoong’s questions as to why he was still sleepy and why his eyes looked like .
“Nap? A ‘nap’ doesn’t take about six hours,” Junsu laughed at his leader.
He and I were sitting at the dining table and had just been talking about anything and everything. We had kept well away from the topic last night, though, and just talked about our countries, my college and my classes, and some of the funny backstage experiences- and sometimes even on-stage experiences- that they’ve had.
“Yeah, well, I didn’t sleep a wink last night,” Yunho yawned widely, sitting down on my left at his usual seat at the dining table.
“And why is that, again?” Jaejoong demanded from his place in front of the stove, continuing to stir something in a pot.
“Erm…” Yunho said, suddenly looking more alert and glancing at me. “I… just had some things on my mind.”
Jaejoong was about to question his lover some more, but I butted in, “What are you making over there, Jaejoong oppa? You’ve been cooking since we finished eating lunch.”
Yunho shot me a grateful look for distracting Jaejoong.
“Oh, I thought I’d make some Korean snack for you to try,” Jaejoong smiled at me.
Changmin and I both perked up at those words.
“Really?” I said excitedly as Changmin turned from the game that he was playing with Yoochun in the living room area to ask, “Did you say ‘snack’, Jaejoong hyung?”
“I’m making ‘tteokbokki’”, Jaejoong announced to everyone as he turned back to the stove.
“Tteokbokki? I love that!” Changmin said happily, quickly standing up and walking towards the kitchen, throwing his game controller back at Yoochun without looking.
“Yah!” Yoochun shouted as the controller hit him right on the face. “Changmin!”
Changmin didn't even pay him any mind as he walked eagerly towards the direction of the food.
“Changmin-ah, Jaejoong hyung said it’s for Erin, not for you,” Junsu , rolling his eyes for additional effect.
Jaejoong hummed in agreement, smirking at his youngest member.
“But there’s plenty of it!” Changmin protested, as he peered from behind Jaejoong to look at the pot.
“I’ll share with Junsu oppa, Yoochun oppa, Jaejoong oppa, and Yunho oppa, then,” I smirked at the maknae, purposely leaving him out.
He glared at me.
“Don’t start arguing again,” Yunho sighed wearily, propping his elbows on the table and putting his head in his hands. “It’s too early for this.”
“Oppa, it’s almost 2 in the afternoon,” I pointed out, laughing.
“Aish, you know what I mean! I just woke up, so no arguing right now,” Yunho grumbled, pretending to be annoyed. However, I saw a hint of a smile on his face.
“So, does that mean we can argue later then?” Changmin asked his leader.
Yunho gave him a ‘don’t-even-think-about-it’ look.
“Alright, alright! Everybody sit down! This is ready,” Jaejoong said as he turned off the stove. Changmin quickly sat down in his seat at the table with Yunho, Junsu, and I, and Yoochun hurried over to us from the living room area.
Jaejoong set a plate in front of me, and I looked at it curiously. There were some elongated white stuff that looked like some kind of pasta, maybe, with red sauce (A/N: sorry for the crappy description, I’ll post a link for the picture at the end).
Is this the Korean version of spaghetti?, I foolishly asked myself.
“Uhm, what exactly is this, Jaejoong oppa?” I asked Jaejoong as he sat himself opposite me after serving everyone.
“It’s tteokbokki,” Junsu answered with his mouth already full of the stuff.
“You do know just the name by itself won’t make any sense to me, don’t you?” I rolled my eyes.
“Don’t talk while your mouth is full, Junsu-ah,” Jaejoong chided his younger member before answering me. “It’s basically rice cake and fish cake with red sauce.” (A/N: well, this is what my friend told me, at least XD)
I picked a piece carefully with my utensils and cautiously bit into it. I was aware of how everyone was now staring at me for my reaction. I chewed it slowly, a thoughtful expression on my face.
“Yeah, it’s good,” I said, smiling a little. “Different, but good... Though, of course, that might be just because it was Jaejoong oppa who cooked it,” I added, grinning at the person in front of me. Jaejoong grinned back smugly.
“Aish, what did I tell you about adding more to his already overinflated ego?” Yunho reprimanded me jokingly.
It was very nice to enjoy Jaejoong’s cooking while the members all joined in when Junsu continued on to tell me about their experiences as artists/singers. Really, some of the “gifts” they told me about that they've received over the years are quite hilarious, while there have also been some that are already classifiable as “disturbing”.
“Hey, Erin,” Jaejoong said suddenly. “You never really told us… how are we doing in the future?”
Unfortunately, I was just swallowing a mouthful of tteokbokki when Jaejoong just had to ask me about that particular topic, and I began to choke on my food in my shock.
“Erin!”
Both Junsu and Yunho, who were on either side of me, began thumping on my back.
After a few tensed seconds, I gasped in relief as my airways cleared again.
“Nice going, hyung,” Yoochun snapped at Jaejoong, as they all slumped back in their chairs, very much relieved as well.
“What did I do?” Jaejoong demanded, looking quite offended.
“You just made her choke!”
“I was just asking a question!”
“Are you alright?” Yunho asked me worriedly, completely ignoring the arguing soulmates on his other side.
“Fine,” I replied weakly.
God, what a week I’m having!
For someone who’s usually living a very dull, normal, and somewhat boring life, everything just seemed to be happening to me this week! Yesterday, I was sent flying across the room; now, I just nearly choked! And let’s not even forget the time travel incident two days ago that led me to be here in the first place…
“Here.”
Changmin’s voice from right beside me startled me from my musings about the sudden turn in my luck department.
I looked up to see him standing beside me holding out a glass of water.
I stared at him in shock along with s. Apparently, none of us had even noticed that he had gotten up to get me a glass of water.
“U-uhm, thanks,” I muttered quietly, after a few more seconds of staring at him in sh
