How long as it been? An hour? Or maybe two? I had no clue. But what i did know was that it definitely felt like an eternity waiting here at the stupid airport. Of all the people who could've come and welcomed them, it had to be me. Lucky me. I grinded my teeth together as i recalled the personal threat my mother had me under. Scowling at the unpleasant memory, i shoved my earphones back into my ears angrily and dosed off yet again. 

The sudden feeling of a evil presence lurking around jolted me awake from sleep. I quickly jumped up and set out running around the airport, not that i could care less. As i came closer to the aura, i realized it knew that i was near and was purposely prancing around here and there, weaving in and out of human traffic. It was taunting me and i did not like to be littled, not to mention by a shadow. My job was a shadow hunter and my ultimate mission was to bring them down but curse all these stupid people for taking the midnight flight. It was already 3 in the morning and the place was packed like a freaking flea market. I had come so close to catching the shadow but that was too dangerous, and too risky in front of all these curious eyes.

" " i scowled as i lost track of the damned shadow.  " I will find you and i will kill you. Mark my words." 

The sea of people came and went. Three thousand millenias later it was finally clearing out and i saw an extremely femine figure swaying her hips left to right as she came closer. I in a tight breath and told myself not to be too disgusted or angry. The middle aged woman wore a knee length peacoat that covered a creme colored blouse and black slacks with matching heels that screamed luxury with every step she took. Her hair was also in loose curls and features were hidden behind name brand shades. Not to mention to ridiculous amount of jewelery hanging at literally any crevice available. Finally not being able to withstand my annoyance, i rolled my eyes at the over exaggerated woman. For 's sake, this is an airport, not a runway you old hag. 

" Skylar baby! Mommy missed you so much!!" She squealed as she pulled me in for a vomit worthy hug followed by two cheek kisses that will stain of berry pink. "Did you miss me?" 

" Totally mom."

As i pulled away from her, i quickly wiped my face and i quickly noticed a few guys were coming out as well. Each of them looked like a model and every female that was present turned their heads to take a shy glance their way.  How. cute. 

"Oh! silly me! How did i even forget! This right here in sehun, chanyeol, suho, and kai." I gave a gesture to let them know i acknowledged their presence. I tried extremely hard to pretend i cared about what my mom had to say but i just couldn't help but shut my ears to her voice. It had surprisingly an easy task to do since it became quite a natural thing to do. 

" It's so nice to finally meet you miss lee, i hope we can work well together." The one who's name was suho stated. His hand was held out but i stared at him as if he was from another planet and he awkwardly extracted the offered hand and stood there quite aware of the heavy tension. 

" So this is the reincarnation of the great sura? She's such a !" Suho complained through their personal telepathic system. I managed to tune in to his mind as i stared into his eyes. Soul to be extact.

" Not a , just extremely cold."

" Shut up chanyeol, you're just trying to talk for her now just because she's prettier and hotter in person." 

I gave the nastiest look to the one named kai and he just simply give me a curt nod pretending nothing was said and i really wanted to go down in a fight with him. I was already in a horrible mood to begin with and he just added fuel to the fire. What a . 

" Skylar! Don't stare at them like they are a deadly virus or something!" My mom cried in the background. 

My temper was reaching an almost unbearable maximum and i couldn't help but put a damage or two on their lines. A static was heard and they all showed a gesture of discomfort and i made sure to make the sound get through in their brains. Suho coughed and i just glared as they were escorted off into a limo that was specially called for them. The annoying hag was the remaining person to be left next to me and she suddenly swung of her arm and was quickly stopped by my amazingly fast reflexes when her hand came a mere inch away from my face. 

" Not today mom." I said quite amused by her ugly behavior. " How about never?"

" Do you not have any shame?! Act more lady-like will you? What if you leave a bad impression on exo k? Do you want that? Do you want them to think you are a crazy woman that doesn't care about the way she carries herself? You're the heir to a company for 's sake skylar. Act your part!" 

" Listen well you old hag, first: i did not want to be here, i wonder who forced me to. Second: the last time i checked i wasn't getting married to any of these bastards so who the hell am i impressing? Third: my job is a shadowhunter not the heir to a stupid ing company. If you don't approve of this , then find yourself a new daughter. I have no problem with that."

 She tried to slap me again but the same presence caught me off guard. I was sure that my mom felt it as well. I flung her hand away from my face with a little more force than necessary and ran out the automatic doors before jumping into my car and dashing off. What i didn't know was that the limo driver was also an experienced insider and was close behind my tail. But then again, the driver didn't know what that i knew what was going on and with that advantage, i shifted to the highest gear and left a good distance between us. Cursing as i saw the ongoing traffic, i wished for the best as i dangerously weaved in and out of the traffic jam just as the shadow had in the airport. A few lowly peasants swore provocative words at me and all i did was flash the finger. Soon enough, i was gone with the wind. 

The presence brought me to a place with an errie feeling. I hopped out of my car and observed my surrounding. The horizon was gray with a hint of orange suggesting the sun will rise in another hour or so and the air was quite misty. The weather also indicated that it was approaching dawn. Just as i was about to run through the door, it shut close in my face. 

Rude.

With a simple flick of my wrist, it bursts open and the two metal doors on each side also fell to the floor damaged for good.But that's what you get for being rude. A little rude payback couldn't hurt. I wasted no time as i ran into the warehouse with no idea what i was in for. As i looked around, the sudden realization hit me. The place was extremely dark, wet with the scent of the undead lingering in the air.

Vampires.

Oh how i hated them so.

A girl's chilling laugh suddenly pierced through my ears and i tried to move away from it. But soon, i learned that i was paralyzed from head to toe. I was planted in the exact same spot. Unable to move a single muscle. A haunting flash of memory involuntarily appeared in my subconsciousness and i could do nothing but being dragged into it...

Two young girls were playing on an open field. They laughed and weaved white lillies in each other's hair, promising to always be there for each other, no matter what. I reached for them but just as i was about to come into physical contact with the girls, the scene changed and i suddenly stood on a battleground with a sea of corsps all around me. A familiar sinister laugh was heard and i ran towards the source of the sound once again. There was two people, a girl who stared down at a boy while the boy's body was limp against the vampire's chest, two tiny holes indicated on the side of his neck. It was obvious that she was a vampire and was either killing or changing him. 

" GIVE IN TO US LIKE YOU WERE DESTINED TO BE!!!!!"

This had to be a hallucination, and i had to get to that boy fast. Trusting my senses, i charged into the nearest room and just as i had thought, there it was, the man and the woman who were in the middle of a fight. Everything around the room has been damaged in some way. Broken glass here, a dent on the floor there. The girl noticed me and i saw how she had changed her aura and feigned innocence and cried out for me. Although i knew the woman was full of , i acted upon instinct of a shadowhunter and jerked the vampire away from the girl who had " passed out"  at this point. The man was not pleased with what i did, and tried to struggle his way out of my invisible rope. The more he struggled, the tighter the rope got. I closed my eyes as i concentrated on exploding his organs. I got to the supposedly pumping red muscle that was dead and purple due to his nature, and knew how to finish him off. Looking around, i saw the leg of the bed and went to tear it from the bed set. It was not my favorite weapon, but i had to be content. First, i was going to finish off the fake and he will go next. For they were both vampires. And i, a vampire hater.

" You..." The man trailed off evident that disbelief crawled onto his face as he got to see who i was. 

" Yes, yes, it's me now shut up. " 

The wood was sharpened into a believable stake and i raised it,  getting ready to drive it through his heart. At the last second, i my heels and held the woman by her hair. She screamed and feigned all sort of petty little acts imagineable.

" Did you really think you could play this off that easily? I could smell you miles away. You smell disgusting." I said, the vampire woman lets out this ugly scream and lunged forward at me, but she was so stupid not to realize i had the wooden stake held in front of me and she voluntarily ran into it. Her screams that sounded again was so blood curdling loud and disgusting, i snapped her neck to shut her up and ended her last moments. Her remains quickly dissolves and my ears began to ring due to the loud impact the caused. I clicked my tongue in annoyance. I turned around once more to face the remaining vampire and was about to drive the bloodied stake into him as well but my hand wouldn't listen to my command. Not matter how much i tried to shove it into his chest, it felt as if there was an invisible layer of super bullet  skylar proof layer of protection. What the was this!? I threw the stupid piece of wood to the side and stormed over to grab his head in my hand. Although he was as hard as a stone, i found the perfect spot to crush his skull and i could rip out his brains and work my way down south. It was perfect, i had it all under control. 

" Go ahead, and kill me." He smirked confidently " I dare you." He whispered. 

Then, he opened his eyes and stared into my eyes. I locked my orbs onto his bungandy ones and felt something was very different. Every other vampire that i had hunt down had with them the crimson red eyes. I looked deeper and dug out a significant event from his past as i felt my soul being into the hazy memory.

The day had been warm, there was nothing but sunshine radiating from the sky. The place was filled with busy people, children who were busy running around with each other as the adults bought their daily essentials. A little boy stopped in front of a young woman and gave her a flower. She smiled and knelt down to give him a peck on the cheek, making him turn bright tomato red. The young woman had gracefully thanked the kid.  Being an extremely well-mannered boy, he quickly responded that she deserved it because she was very beautiful and hoped her a lifetime of happiness. This little kid, what did he know about the happiness in this world? If only he had known the things that went on in the real world, away from his parents protection. Maybe he was just too young, maybe he'll understand as he gets older. 

" You better wish that you could hurry and grow up to marry your noona. Who knows, there might be a chance~"

 A male's voice suggested and gave the boy a little wink.

" Hyung! What are you saying!? Sura noona is going to get mad!" The little boy exclaimed.

I was indeed pleased by his politeness, so....this had to be the period of time where the infamous sura had lived. Interesting... 

Going further back into the memory, a few more kids gathered around and the mysterious guy led sura towards the center of attention where there was music playing in the background and everyone seemed to have nothing but a good time. Then suddenly a girl, no, a young woman around the same age as sura appeared and seductively made her way towards the guy. He stiffened up as sura did the same. The familiar shadow aura lingered in the air and i zeroed in on the girl. I was positive it was radiating from her. As i took a closer look at her, her frame was as innocent as it could be. But something about her eyes and the way she walked told a different story.

As she got closer, sura took a step back, not in fear but as a precaution and a protection for the kids. 

" Taehyung oppa, why are you ignoring me?" The woman purred. 

" Take the kids somewhere safe, i'll handle this ." Taehyung assured. 

" Are you going to be okay?" Sura asked Taehyung put a hand to cup her face and gave her a confident smirk.

" Always." With that, he was gone to chase down the damned shadow.

" Hello? Hellllooooo sura??? AYO!" 

The voice pulled me back to reality while i noticed the woman had escaped. " Um, loosen me a bit yeah?" Taehyung complained, i quickly released him from his personal hell and he rubbed his wrists this way and that. 

" Take me to your people."

 " Why would i do that?" 

" Because we kinda have a situation where it involves me, and you, and your buddys, and your other buddies.And they will need our help."  

However, there were special cases were the shadows sided with good rather than their destined fate. 

" Aren't i just so handsome sura?"  I ignored his narcissistic remark and decided to start interrogating him. 

" So you're telling me that you were originally a shadow but became a shadowhunter just like the rest of us?"

He simply nods.

"  Elaborate. "
