Secret Love
Heejin stopped and glanced at Lay, then she saw Sejin.
“Sejin-ah!” She smiled at her.
Kai balked and looked at Sejin shock.
“…...”
“Ni!” Sejin hissed at Lay.
“Ni wei sheme~” Lay trailed off, not knowing how to continue.
Kai watched as the two conversed in Chinese.
Heejin had gone off to look for the restroom and he was left with the two.
“I can’t believe this!” Sejin groaned.
“What did he say?”
“He said you were cheating on me, but that’s not the problem here, Yixing.”
“Wo jidao. Did you explain?”
“Why should I do that? You were the one who got caught.” Sejin crossed her arms.
“Why are you out with him then?”
“I--” Sejin blinked at him.
“We explain together.” Lay finished.
“You see, Lay and I…we’re engaged, but it’s just a deal with us.” Sejin faced Kai.
“Sejin and I grew up together, we’ve known each other since we were kids. Our parents, arranged us for marriage.”
“Arranged marriage?”
Sejin nodded.
“We’re engaged only for a year to prevent us from being cut off and be shun away from our families.”
“A…fake engagement?”
“Basically, yes.” Lay nodded.
“Why do you trust me with such information?” Kai asked, Sejin smiled and squeezed his shoulder in a friendly manner.
“Because I know you’re different, Kai. You never hover.” She grinned.
Lay smiled at him.
“Now, let’s go. Heejin will be back soon.” Sejin tugged on his sleeve.
“Rang women lai tan tan yi hou. (Let’s talk later.)” Lay said, Sejin nodded and left with Kai.
“You seem to lead a very complicated life.” Kai said.
“I know.”
“Is it difficult?”
“Ani, that girl earlier, Yixing and her have been dating since we were in college. She’s a good friend.”
Kai smiled and glanced at her.
“So technically, he’s not cheating on me.” She chuckled.
“Well, that’s a special case.” Kai nodded.
“Come on, let’s eat lunch. I’m really hungry, Kim Jongin.”
“I’m Kim Jongin now because I already know your secret?”
“Would you rather I call you Flirt?”
“Don’t worry, I’ll keep your secret, Miss Kim.”
“Very well said, Samsung-ssi.”
Sejin walked in the house, she took off her coat and went to the living room. She found Lay sitting down dressed in a black wifebeater and jeans.
“Kai and I talked, he said he understands.” She nodded.
“You trust him.” Lay stated.
“I kind of do, he seems a good person.”
Lay smiled knowingly and made her sit beside him.
“How’d your date with Heejin go, Xingnicorn?”
Then she felt Lay’s arms around her. Sejin tensed.
“I feel tired, the cook isn’t around, can we just order take out?” He asked. Sejin smiled.
“Arasso, what do you want to eat?”
“Chicken.”
Kai sat plopped down on his bed, his thoughts went back to what happened earlier.
Sejin’s engagement was just a hoax afterall.
“It’s like a drama.” He murmured to himself, but there was one thing he couldn’t deny.
Somehow, he was happy about her engagament being fake.
