Chapter 19

Upon returning to the dorm and seeing the two trying to pretend like they weren’t doing anything when they obviously had been doing something, Niel decided to leave it alone and went to his room he shared with L.Joe and Changjo. The maknaes were acting weirdly and apparently Niel wasn’t the only one to think so.

When he entered L.Joe and Chunji were sitting together on the floor talking, both looking up when they saw Niel come in.

“Hey guys,” Niel greeted.

“Shh, close the door, hurry,” Chunji said.

Niel tlted his head confused and shut the door behind him.

“Come here,” Chunji demanded, beckoning his dongsaeng forward while waving his hand.

Niel came forward and sat down in front of them.

“What were Changhyun and Jonghyun doing out there?” Chunji asked when Niel finally sat.

“Nothing? Playing a game,” Niel replied. “Was I supposed to see something?”

“I don’t know,” Chunji said. “Just we suspect something might be going on between them.”

“Eh?” Niel’s eyes widened. “Why would you think that?”

L.Joe looked at Chunji, “Niel’s closest to them so he’d know for sure. He said nothing’s happening.”

Chunji ignored L.Joe and said, “It’s just they’ve been acting weird around each other lately. You’ve noticed it right? Changhyun will look at Jonghyun when he thinks no one’s looking.”

“Oh yeah… now that you mention it I’ve noticed it too. But I didn’t really think anything of it. Why should you?”

“Because earlier this week when you and Changhyun went to MNET, Jonghyun told us that he likes him,” L.Joe replied.

“He what!?” Niel was shocked. “He really said that?”

“Yeah,” L.joe frowned. “He thought that I liked Changhyun and wanted to warn me away.”

Niel threw his head back and laughed loudly, “No way!”

“Yeah, and then since day that Changhyun was late to practice I noticed that he was avoiding Jonghyun but at the same time can’t stop looking at him. I think Changhyun must have confessed,” Chunji said. “I asked him if he liked someone and threw Jonghyun’s name in there but I didn’t quite get the reaction I wanted.”

“Like what? You don’t think Changhyun likes him back?” Niel asked. “If he did like someone I’d say it’s Jonghyun but there’s a chance he really just doesn’t like anyone.”

“You think?” Chunji asked. “Well honestly if they get together I support it and if not that’s ok too but I can’t wait until that awkward tension between them goes away. I hope that the fact that they’re actually playing games together shows things will be back to normal soon.”

“Yeah I support them too!” Niel beamed.

L.Joe just shook his head, “I don’t know.”

“What do you mean you don’t know? They’re cute and you know it,” Chunji scoffed.

“Well they’re already awkward just with Jonghyun confessing,” L.Joe said.

“Yeah but it’ll get better in time,” Niel assured him.

“I just don’t want them to cause trouble for the band,” L.Joe said.

Chunji looked surprised and elbowed L.Joe in the side, looking over at Niel whose brow furrowed at the statement.

“What do you mean cause trouble?” Niel asked. “You think its trouble when two members date each other? Well I’m sorry I had to go like someone I spend so much time with and think they’re awesome and cool and admirable and they liked me back.”

“No it’s not that just…” L.Joe began but faded off.

“Just what?” Niel pressed.

It wasn’t that Niel wanted to make things awkward or anything like that. But he couldn’t help but take the comment as personal. He and C.A.P was already a couple in the group and he didn’t want to think they were causing trouble for the band.

“He wasn’t saying that,” Chunji tried to defend. “He means that they’re too young!”

“I was younger than them though,” Niel pointed out. “If you’re trying to say something about me and Minsoo then sorry but we may not have a perfect relationship but it’s between us and it doesn’t have anything to do with the band.”

L.Joe didn’t say anything and just looked away.

Niel sighed. He felt this conversation was a long time coming, but he really didn’t want to be having it.

“You don’t like me and Minsoo together do you?”

“That’s not true and you know it,” Chunji said. “We all supported you two.”

“Then what is it?” Niel asked.

L.Joe replied, “Even if you don’t think it does, every single thing any one of us does affects the band. You think you two yelling, slamming doors, and fighting all over the place doesn’t affect us?”

“It’s none of your business!” Niel countered.

“Byunghun stop it,” Chunji said. “Daniel, don’t listen to him. He’s just worried about you and the band.”

“There’s nothing to be worried about,” Niel bit back. “If you two can go around and mess around with random girls I don’t see what’s wrong with me being in a loving COMMITED relationship or Jonghyun and Changhyun for that matter!”

L.Joe just shook his head, “If you say so.”

Niel tensed and Chunji hugged the other vocalist, trapping his arms.

“Byunghun stop it,” he repeated, leveling a glare at their smallest member.

L.Joe sighed and Chunji squeezed Niel in his arms.

“Look, I support you and Minsoo. We all do, I guess what that idiot wants to say is if you are having some problems you can talk to us.”

Niel sighed, sagging a bit in Chunji’s arms. He knew that it was impossible to think that their arguing would go unnoticed by the other members but he didn’t want to involve them in his problems more than they already were.

“Thanks hyung,” Niel said.

After being abandoned by Changjo Ricky sat dejectedly on the couch and stared at the television screen blankly. There was nothing on it as Changjo had already turned the game off but Ricky wasn’t really aware of much around him anyway. No instead he was just hyper aware of himself and his body.

His mind was a mess. His thoughts were every such way. Of course, that was inevitable.

But his body had been lit aflame by Changjo’s touch. Every bit of skin on his neck and arms that Changjo had touched was sensitive and craving for more. His fingertips ached to touch Changjo’s soft and warm skin again and he couldn’t help but groan in need as he imagined the way Changjo looked beneath him and how it felt to lay between the other’s legs.

He had previously thought it’d be weird to lay with another man; after all he always said his ideal type was someone who was cute a fresh faced. But his experience with Changjo, as minimal as it was, had managed to wipe any thought of any other person from his mind. All Ricky wanted was to feel Changjo’s hard body against his and to ravish that mouth with his own.

Ricky shook his head blushing.

‘Ah, Changhyun you really are a ert!’ Ricky scolded himself in his mind as he rubbed his cheeks trying to make the redness go down.

Ricky couldn’t help but think it made sense then for Changjo to doubt his intentions, especially with the way he was so quick to push the other down. But Ricky didn’t feel like the other disliked it.

Ricky pouted and pulled his legs up to rest his chin on his knees just as Niel reentered the room, this time plopping down in the spot beside him.

“Hi hyung,” greeted Ricky, still pouting.

“Why are you pouting?” Niel asked. “And where’s Changjo? Weren’t you all playng the game?”

“He got bored,” Ricky replied.

“Aw too bad I wanted to play. Chanhee and Byunghun were annoying me,” Niel pouted too. “And Minsoo is sleeping.”

“We can still play together,” Ricky pointed out.

“But you .”

“HEY! I do not!” Ricky protested causing Niel to stick his tongue out at him.

“Anyway it’s good it’s just the two of us,” Niel said.

“Why is that?” Ricky inquired.

“Well… because…,” Niel looked around to make sure no one was in the room. “Well, I wanted to ask you something.”

“Ok ask me!” Ricky said happily, putting his legs down and turning towards his bandmate.

“You promise to tell the truth.”

Ricky nodded.

“No lying!”

“I won’t!” assured the visual maknae.

“Ok… well, do you like Jonghyun?”

Ricky’s mouth dropped open and Niel cackled evilly.

“I knew it! I knew it! JONGHYUN AH!” Niel went to stand up but Ricky tackled him down onto the couch.

“Wait hyung, why are you like this!?” Ricky cried out, pinning Niel down.

Ricky was in a near panic, his heart beating wildly in his chest as Niel pushed him off.

“Hyung, I didn’t say I did or I didn’t!” Ricky reasoned.

Niel was raking his fingers through and fixing his hair.

“You don’t have to tell me. Your facial expression told me. You panicked.”

“Did not!” Ricky said. “I was just shocked.”

“Really? So you mean to tell me nothing at all is going on between you and Jonghyun right now? I mean nothing, absolutely nothing?”

Ricky kept his mouth shut weighing the options. He could just reply and say that there was nothing between him and their maknae. After all it was only his word he had to go on, but at the same time Ricky could definitely use the advice about what to do and how to know exactly what he’s feeling.

“Uhm…,” Ricky began.

“You’re taking too long. It’s a yes or no,” Niel said.

“It’s… it’s complicated!” Ricky blurted out.

Niel looked surprised for a second before smirking, “Oh so it’s like that?”

“Like what?”

“That?”

“I don’t know what you mean by that but it’s not like that!” Ricky said. “Anyway really hyung I don’t know what to tell you or what you want to hear when I don’t even know myself.”

Niel frowned, “So that kind of complicated, huh?”

Ricky shrugged and looked down at his hands. There was so much he was confused about and so much that he needed clarified that he didn’t know where to begin. There was the issue of Changjo’s confession and the way he reacted to it. Then there was the electric fireworks he felt when they kissed and the utterly brain muddled feeling he had when he tried to understand how he really felt about Changjo.

Niel tapped Ricky’s shoulder and stood up.

“Come on,” Niel said. “Let’s go for a walk.”

“Huh? Where are we going?”

“Somewhere where we can talk without risking the others hearing. I want to know everything.”
