Aiden' POV
My morning starts off quiet boring. First, I have a morning coffee with Sooman. He talks mostly about if I interested to become their main sponsor. I mean I want to help them because my sister is their artist and the company is going down quite a lot. Lee Sooman is good at convincing. So before I left I agree to donate for the whole concert that will happen this weekend. That's not really a large money for me, but it means a lot for my sister - I will do it, but for an exchange, he can't say a word about my identity. At the end, suddenly he asked if I know Krystal Jung. I nodded.
Then, my next appointment is with a CEO, Carrick Jung. As I enter his office, he gets on his feet and quickly walks over to where I stand and shake my hand. To my surprise, he has losing so much weight.
"Welcome" he said
"Thank you, Mr.Jung" I politely said
"Drop the formal..." he signals me to next down at the sofa
"Yes..." I smile
"So...Aiden, how are you doing?" he sits down opposite with me and hands me a cup of tea
"I'm doing great...just some lack of sleep caught me off the road sometime." I smile again
We drip off to business quickly after few polite greeting. Carrick pretty interests in my plan of coming here. But then his question stunned me
"What are you going to do with my youngest daughter?"
"Sir..." I shift off from lean against the sofa
"I know everything, I don't want to say what my daughter did to you is right, because quiet frankly I trust you with everything then my daughter did. But now that she regrets what she had done, can you consider about open your heart for her once more?" he looks at me.
"Carrick, I love your daughter. But i am not sure if I ready or not"
"So okay, take your time. Just don't take too long" he takes a slip of tea
We silent for a moment.
"Aiden...you know that Mrs Jung and I don't have a son. Krystal and Jessica have no interest in my business. I'm really like you for my daughter as well as for my company." suddenly he inhales and exhales like he has shortened breathing. The cold from my back starting to build up like crazy. His condition.... My jaw drops
"Carrick..."
"Let me finish. I'm 63 now. I am too old for this. Everyday, I feel my strength keep losing. I don't have anyone to inherit this whole thing that I have been build up for year."
"Can you at least give me some time to think about it? I want to make sure that will able to taking care of the largest empire in Korea."
"Yes...and about my ..." he starts to cough and holds on to his chest. Then he's on his knee and clenching to his shirt, try to cough off. I quickly get my assistance to call the ambulance.
The doctors and nurses finish their job. One of the doctor is my friend, he let me read Carrick's data chart. Mrs. Jung and Jessica rush into the hospital immediately when I called them
"Aiden...will he be okay?" Mrs. Jung worries
"From this chart, I still not sure yet. But I will ask my friend to run more test to see how serious this is."
"So it's already serious?" Jessica asked
"I afraid to say that he might at the risk of lung cancer. But I need more test to make sure." Their face flash terrible sign.
"Don't worry, we will get him the best medicine he needs.? I will go talk to my friend right now. Please...if you need anything let me know." I grab the chart and head to door.
Krystal' POV
As I heard the phone call from Jessica, I rush out of my practice room immediately. Daddy...please stay with me. I reach to my dad's room and I see a doctor with a familiar figure walk out. His height, walk, hand swing... So familiar. I want to call him and ask about my dad's condition but my feet led me to the room first.
