Kaleidoscope
Poems and Metaphors
Kaleidoscope
jiraniku, 2003
An interplay of light
and colored glass
that obeys my every touch.
Just a turn and a twist
and random patterns
form at my will.
Each just as lovely to the eye
but all just fractions
of the whole.
I live in this kaleidoscope
with bits of colored glass
reflecting light,
rotating to form
patterns of my life.
That when I twisted it too much
out came spilling
a chaos
of
colors.
I used to look at the sky and see you
Wake up and see you
Close my eyes and dream of you
I hear the wind calling your name
Or was it my heart beating?
Now the sky is full of stars
I close my eyes and sleep
I wake up and everything is new
In the silence, the wind hangs still
My heart tired from aching
-trying to get over you
