Glasses

The glasses framing his eyes

Made me like him

The glasses that made him

Look serious and smart

The glasses that reminded me

of Harry Potter

But even with the glasses on

he did not see me

(And I thought he was supposed

to see clearly)

Maybe more but not less

He was the boy

With skinny arms and legs

He was the boy

With raven hair sticking out

He was the boy

With glass-rimmed brown eyes

He was the boy

With a smile that stretches to forever
