The plan is simple.

 

Today in P.E, we have a basketball practice.

 

For the matches, boys and girls play separately.

 

But before the match, everyone does warm-ups together.

 

The P.E teacher doesn’t care who you pair up with.

 

Usually, everyone picks their own partner.

 

“You’re going to pair up with Siwon. End of story.”

 

Yoona pouted. “Huh?” she asked “No girl ever pairs herself with a guy.” She scratched her head for a second. “I normally pair with Yuri.”

 

I sighed.

 

I wish I could pair up with Yuri.

 

“That’s the point.” I said, explaining the facts to her. “Pair up with like nothing had happened.”

 

“Happened?”

 

“Look. I am going to pair up with you first. Then…”

 

I explained to her the plan, which took me a minute to think of.

“In that way Siwon will have to find a different partner.”

 

“Halfway through, I “accidentally” hit Siwon’s partner with a ball.”

 

“Even though it won’t hurt, it will cause a commotion. So I’ll take that person to the nurse’s office.”

 

I drummed my fingers to the ball so she could process the information.

 

“And who’s left?” she said as she fixed her braided her neatly. “Me and Siwon?”

 

I smiled. “See? It will be like ‘Too bad we’re the only ones left. So let’s pair up.”

 

A genius plan! I laughed like a mad man.

Our P.E teacher arrived at the gym. “Alright. Let’s start the warm-ups.”

We crossed each others hand together, just like what newlyweds do.

“Looks like some people are really pumped up.” Said our teacher.

 

And then all at once I heard people saying.

I thought everything had changed.

 

I turned to Yoona, who is at that time looks uncomfortable.

 

“Whoa.” A voice said.

“I always wanted to pair up with a girl!” he said. “Guess what? Donghae you’re so lucky.”

Leeteuk was right beside him, curling his arms around his body. “I always dreamt of that.” He said in a deep stern voice.

 

I just smiled at to my new friends.

 

“Oppa!” a voice said. “Oops I mean Siwon let’s pair up!”

 

It was Taeyeon, the most popular singer in our school. She sings for the school choir and had won a lot awards. She’s totally amazing.

 

That’s the time Siwon stood up from the bleachers. “Ah! Sure since Donghae had just ditched me up.” He grinned at me. “He seems to be with Yoona.”

 

Taeyeon leaped up in joy.

 

If I did not know better, I swear I would say Taeyeon had a crush on him.

“Done!” Yoona stood, wiping the invisible dust off her pants. “Let’s practice ball passing!”

 

“Yeah let’s get back to our plan.”

 

The plan is easy.

Yoona bent down to picked the ball up.

She picked it with uncharacteristic anger.

 

She held it tightly.

 

And then threw it with all her strength.

 

To Taeyeon’s direction.

 

“Oh my shoes is untied.” She muttered as she bent to fix it.

 

Thus avoiding the ball’s momentum.

 

Safe.

 

For the moment.

 

And the ball?

 

Is heading to straight..

 

To her partner.

 

Siwon.

 

And it landed in his hands.

Siwon smiled at Yoona. “Thanks Yoona-ssi. Nice pass!”

 

And I saw her blushed.

 

“What’s happening to you?”

 

“Shouldn’t you be happy?” she said in a voice I never heard before. “Siwon thanked me.”

 

How idiotic.

 

“You didn’t evn talk to him and said a thing back there.” I said, mocking her words.

 

She would blush for that simple thing?

 

“All he did was that stupid salute and said thank you.” I said, mimicking Siwon’s actions.

 

I didn’t remember what are the things she said next but I heard myself say “Ouch!”

 

“Say something useful once in a while!” she rubbed her temple. “Let’s get going!”

 

Okay.

 

The plan.

 

Taeyeon must get hurt.

 

No I can’t do it.

 

How could I possibly hit a girl?

 

Even if it’s done softly.

 

Okay.

 

I’ll just keep throwing it half-assed to her.

 

Until practice is over.

“Very well. I’ll take her to the nurse.”

 

And with his massive hands, he brought Yoona bride-style out of the court.
