Later that evening, Yuri had apparently sneaked out of Jessica's ward quietly was Jessica was sleeping soundly.
Ever since Jessica got official with Yuri and being admitted into the hospital,
Jessica could only get a good night sleep or rest only when Yuri's around her.
Not knowing why, but Yuri gives her a sense of security.
Yuri makes her feel safe.

Minutes after Yuri left, the team of doctors entered Jessica's ward and gently woke Jessica up.
But to Jessica's disappointment, the moment she woke up,
Yuri wasnt around her anywhere in this room.

Panicked, Jessica quickly turned to the doctors and asked.

"Where is Yuri?"

The doctors looked around each other and shrugged.

"We dont know, Jessica-sshi"
"But we're here to give you the injection for your spine"

Jessica's eyes dropped.
She shook her head.

"I dont want it"
"I dont want it, Yul's not here with me" said Jessica, as fear slowly filled her eyes.

Ever since she was admitted in the hospital, be it the first cycle or now,
Yuri has always been by her side for almost everything.
To be honest, Jessica has developed a phobia of receiving the treatments after the first cycle that scared her off.
But only Yuri, Yuri was the one that could assure her and calm her down.

"But Jessica-sshi, its not good to miss the time of the treatment"
"Its going to mess the cycle up" said the doctors with a frown.

"I dont care, i dont want it"
"Get out now" said Jessica coldly, averting the doctors' worried gaze.

Just then, footsteps were heard entering the room.
Thinking that it was Yuri's, Jessica's attention immediately turned to the door.
But it wasnt, it was Mrs Jung.

"Sweetie" called Mrs Jung as she stepped into the room with a worried look.
"Let the doctors do what they need to okay?" cooed Mrs Jung lovingly as she caressed Jessica's hair.

To her surprise, Jessica yanked her hands away rudely.

"Get out" said Jessica coldly.
"I said, i dont want it"

Mrs Jung sighed.

"Sweetie, are you still mad at omma for this morning?"
"Even so, can you please dont take it against your health?"
"Its hurting me to see you like this"

Jessica laughed mockingly with her eyes rolled.

"Get out"
"My health doesnt matter to you anyway"
"Never once did you bothered about me"
"Why should you now?"
"Hurting you?"
"You must be happy to see me in such situation"
"I'll be dead soon, before you know it" said Jessica saracstically.

"Sweetie.."

"Stop calling me that name"
"Its giving me goosebumps"
"I was dumb to be missing you, loving you"
"Because you two never loved me"
"I was brought up to make deals"
"Business deals"

Mrs Jung landed a tight slap on Jessica's cheeks.
It sent her cheeks burning red with stinging pain.
Blood were sent oozing out of Jessica's nose due to the strong impact too.

"This is what you want right?"
"Because i've ruined your business deals"
"I cant accede to your request of leaving Yul" said Jessica, with a sacarstic smirk.

Mrs Jung, who looked fuming mad and helpless,
turned to the doctors and gave them a nod.
Within seconds, the doctors were all around Jessica and turned her around,
holding on to her tight.
Before she could do anything, the doctors immediately inserted the needle straight into her spine.
Because it was inserted at a higher speed then usual, it hurts a lot more than usual.
Heartshattering cries were heard from Jessica as the doctors released the liquid from the syringe.

"I HATE YOOOUU!" cried Jessica in pain as she tried to struggle around but no avail.

Everyone was holding onto Jessica tightly.
Everyone wanted the best for her but she didnt know.
All she knew was, Mrs Jung was trying to separate her and Yuri which she would never let it happen.

Once the doctors was done and took their leave,
it took Jessica a few minutes to recover from the pain before turning around.
Mrs Jung took her seat beside Jessica's bed, she was trying to reach out to Jessica to help her with the bleeding nose but got pushed away by Jessica.

"Look sweetie, omma's sorry for slapping you"
"But how could you think of me as selling you off as a business deal?"
"I can explain everything, but just let me help you alright?"

"Help me?" repeated Jessica mockingly as she took a piece of tissue and put it under her nose.
"Oh please, i seriously dont need your help"
"I dont want to get sold off one day unknowingly what had gone on"

"Sweetie, please" pleaded Mrs Jung desperately.

Jessica turned to her side table and grabbed her MP3 as well as her white ukelele.
Grabbing onto these two stuff, Jessica immediately stuffed the earpiece into her ears and started strumming the ukelele.

"Sweetie.." called Mrs Jung, yet again with that desperate look.

Mrs Jung wanted to explain, wanted very much to explain to Jessica what was going on.
But Jessica, shes been refusing her,
not wanting to listen to her explanations.
This, this was driving Mrs Jung crazy, she was desperate yet helpless.

Unable to take this anymore,
Mrs Jung grabbed Jessica's MP3 roughly from her,
pulling out the earpieces together with it.
Jessica stared at her with a hurt expression.
Before she could say anything, Mrs Jung grabbed the ukelele and smashed it onto the floor.
Jessia's eyes immediately fell onto the the broken ukelele, in tears.

"WHY?!"
"WHY DO YOU HAVE TO DO THAT?!" shouted Jessica in tears.
"YOU REALLY WANT TO DRIVE ME TO THE DEAD END, DONT YOU?!"

"I wanted you to listen"
"I wanted to explain, you werent listening"
"You forced me to sweetie" said Mrs Jung bluntly.

Mrs Jung watched Jessica stumble onto the ground, beside the broken ukelele.
Tears were dripping onto the ukelele, wetting it bright white ukelele.
At that point of time, Mrs Jung had totally broken Jessica's heart.
Inside out.

Furious, sad and helpless.
This was what Jessica had felt then.
Within seconds, Jessica ripped everything off her,
her infus and the catheter inserted into her chest even though it was bleeding.

"Sweetie!" called Mrs Jung worriedly as she tried to stop Jessica but was yanked away.

Jessica turned to Mrs Jung with a cold, hurt glare.

"Even if i bleed to death"
"Even if im found dead on the streets due to the coldness"
"Its none of your business"
"Because from this moment onwards, im broken" said Jessica coldly as she staggered out of the ward,
leaving Mrs Jung in the room dazed.

Walking around the streets near the hospital, Jessica's vision was getting blurry.
Everyone who walked around her were giving her a weird look.
Her nose was bleeding still, and her chest was bleeding due to the removal of the catheter.
But thankfully, she was wearing a red knitted sweater, nobody saw the any obvious blood stains.
Staggering around the streets, clad in a red knitted sweater, skinny jeans as well as a pink beanie,
Jessica came past a shop which specialises in soft toys making.
The shop, it was special because you can customise any kind of soft toy you want,
just give them the picture of it and they will make it for you.

Peering inside the shop, Jessica saw a familiar figure.
A figure she's been searching for.
Smiling to herself, Jessica walked into the shop slowly and put her hands around that figure's waist.

Turning around, it was Yuri.
Yuri looked really surprised but nevertheless smiled.

"Why are you here sweetheart?"
"You're having a nosebleed!" exclaimed Yuri in shock as she immediately pushed Jessica's head up.

The shop assistant immediately passed Yuri a piece of tissue paper to help Jessica.
Yuri, who was helping Jessica to stop the bleeding received a sad smile from Jessica.

"Im fine Yul"

"How could you be fine sweetheart?"
"You're having a fever and nosebleed!"
"Why are you out of the hospital under such cold weather!"
"Its changing you know, the season!"

"Because you werent by my side Yul"
"You promised you'll be here for me as soon as i open my eyes"
"You lied Yul"
"You lied" said Jessica as tears started streaming down her face.

Yuri sighed and brought Jessica into her embrace.
Carressing Jessica's hair, Yuri took the bag from the assistant and gave him a goodbye smile.
Lightly lifting Jessica onto her back, Yuri started piggyback-ing Jessica back to the hospital.

"Dont.. Yul.."
"I dont want to go back.."
"Please.."

"Why?" asked Yuri confused.

"Please.."

Jessica's voice was getting softer and weaker.

"Sweetheart..?"

There was no response.

"Sweetheart.?!" called Yuri worriedly as she shook Jessica but received no reply in return.

However, over at Mrs Jung's side,
she was sitting on the chair inside Jessica's ward helplessly.

"Sweetie.."
"Why are you doing this to yourself..?" mumbled Mrs Jung, broken at what Jessica had done.

Picking up the MP3, Mrs Jung was curiously what Jessica had been listening to block the world out.
But to her surprise, the MP3 wasnt even switched on.

"Sweetie.."
"Why are you like this..?"
"You didnt even on this and you made me think like you did.."
"You did give me a chance to explain, didnt you?" muttered Mrs Jung under her breath as tears fell down her face like there's no tomorrow.

"Hey" called Mr Jung as he stepped into Jessica's ward.
"Where is she?"

Mrs Jung looked up in tears.

"Im sorry dear.."
"I broke Sooyeon's heart.."

"What happened?" asked Mr Jung concernly as he sat beside Mrs Jung, putting his arms over Mrs Jung.

"I wanted to explain to her about the arranged marriage"
"I wanted.."
"But Sooyeon.. she's been refusing me.."
"I've slapped her and broke her ukelele.." sobbed Mrs Jung sadly in Mr Jung's chest.

"Why?"
"I thought you told me before Sooyeon will be getting mood swings very often"
"Why did you do that?"

"I.."
"I just couldnt.."
"Couldnt control myself dear.."

"Shh.."
"We'll tell her about it later okay?"

"I dont know about it dear.."
"I dont know where is Sooyeon now.."
"She just ripped everything off and ran off, leaving me here helplessly"

Just then, Yuri was seen running into the room,
with Jessica in unconscious in her hands.
Behind her was a group of doctors that were treating Jessica.

Mr and Mrs Jung immediately stood up and went to Jessica but was pushed away by the doctors.
The door of the ward was shut close, Yuri was standing behind the doctors while Jessica's was being treated by the doctors.
Cutting open Jessica's top, it was bleeding profusely which shocked Yuri who was watching.

Mr and Mrs Jung was tearing by the side looking at the broken Jessica.

"Quick, stop the bleeding!" shouted the doctors.
"Bring the blood platelets quick!"

Everyone started shuffling around the room,
it was hectic.

"Doctor, her breathing is really very weak" announced one of the nurse who was monitoring Jessica's heartbeat, blood pressure etc.

"Put on the oxygen mask for me"
"She must have lost too much blood" instructed the doctors as they cleaned Jessica's wound, stitching it up.

30 minutes, after the doctors were done,
they instructed the nurses to prepare a bag of platelets for Jessica and hang it up for her,
as well as a strong pack of antibiotics to help with her fever.
Right after that, the doctors turned to Yuri, Mr and Mrs Jung with a relief expression.

"How is she doctor?" asked Mr Jung worriedly.

"Jessica-sshi is fine for now"
"But her breathing is weak, probably because of the major loss of blood"
"I'll leave her with the oxygen mask for now"
"Please do not agitate her anymore, her condition is really weak now"

"Thank you so much doctors" said Yuri with a smile.
"Please make her feel better"

"I will"
"We'll leave first and check back on her later" said the doctors before leaving the room.

With a bow, the doctors left the room,
leaving Yuri, Mr and Mrs Jung behind.
Yuri then turned to Mr and Mrs Jung.

"Mr and Mrs Jung, i am not going to chase any one of you out of this ward because you have every right to be here"
"And i dont know what made her left the hospital like that but i definitely have a brief idea of what happened"
"I know you two objected to our relationship, i just would like to let you know that i'll never give up"
"For now, please, just stop hurting Jessica"
"Its hurting me like this, to see her in this state"

Mr and Mrs Jung sighed and shook their heads sadly.

"Its also hurting us to see our daughter this way, dont you understand?"
"We dont want it to happen too" replied Mrs Jung as she looked at Jessica lovingly.

"Then you shouldnt have broke us up"
"Jessica and I mean a lot to each other"
"Especially at times like-"

"Ple..ase.."
"Yul.."
"Dont.. leave.." mumbled Jessica unconsciously as she started thrashing around on bed.

"Shhh.." hushed Yuri worriedly as she went over to Jessica's side, holding onto her hands tightly.
"Please.. sweetheart.."
"I didnt leave.."

"Yul.."
"Dont.. leave.."

"Sweetheart.."
"Dont be like this sweetheart.."
"Are you in pain..?" asked Yuri worriedly to the unconscious latter mumbling incomplete sentences but just words.

Mr and Mrs Jung walked over to Yuri,
put their hands over Yuri's shoulder.

"I think we should give her a sponge bath"
"Her fever is far too high" said Mrs Jung worriedly.

Yuri turned to Mrs Jung with a doubtful look.

"Trust me, im a nurse here"
"I know what im doing, alright?" said Mrs Jung with a weak smile, giving a light squeeze on Yuri's shoulder.

Yuri sighed with a nod.

"Yuri, do you wanna do it or you let me do it?"

Yuri thought for a few seconds.

"I think you'll do it, i dont want to hurt Jessica" said Yuri with a soft sigh as she took a few steps backwards.

Mrs Jung nodded, and Mr Jung took a few steps backwards to let Mrs Jung walk past them.
Mrs Jung went out of the room and came back minutes later with a bowl of iced water and a sponge inside it.
The bowl, was filled with ice and the condensation of the iced in the water could be clearly seen outside the bowl.
Settling down beside Jessica, Mrs Jung slowly damped the sponge into the iced water and starting sponging Jessica.

"Colddd.."
"Yul.. Coldd.."
"Ple..sseeaassee.." chattered Jessica in her sleep.

"Shhh.."
"Sweetie, its going to make your fell better" comforted Mrs Jung sadly as she continued to sponge Jessica.

"Cccooolddd.."
"Ple..sseaassseee.."
"Ssttooppp.." cried Jessica, thrashing around the bed.

"Just a little while more sweetie"
"Just a little while" said Mrs Jung, holding onto Jessica tightly.

15 minutes later, after Mrs Jung was done,
she gave Yuri a nod and left the room with Mr Jung.
Leaving Yuri alone, in the room with Jessica.
Sitting on Jessica's bed, lying beside her, Yuri was caressing Jessica's cheeks with love.
Minutes later, Jessica started to stir from her sleep.

"Hey sweetheart, how're you feeling now?"
"Feeling better?"

Jessica smiled weakly and snuggled closely into Yuri's arms.

"Ccooldd.." muttered Jessica weakly.

Realising that her voice was all muffled up, Jessica rolled her eyes and saw the oxygen mask on her face.
Immediately, her hands went over and grabbed it.

"YAH!"
"Why did you take it off!" scolded Yuri worriedly as she picked the oxygen mask up.
"The doctors said that you lost too much blood and is weak"
"So you need this" said Yuri as she attempted to put it back but was yanked away by Jessica.

Yuri threw Jessica a dumbfounded look.

"I dont.. need this.." muttered Jessica weakly.
"I dont like it.."

"Look, sweetheart"
"Arent you going against yourself?" cooed Yuri concernly, holding onto the fragile hands.

"Im fine.."
"Really.."
"Tell me.. where did you go..?" asked Jessica, eyeing at Yuri with a fierce look.

Yuri chuckled.

"Well, if i tell your where did i go"
"Are you going to tell me what happened?"

Jessica looked away and pondered on it for a few seconds before nodding with a smile.

"Alright"
"Think i'll be the one starting first"
"Always at the losing end" said Yuri, feigning a loud sigh.

Jessica giggled.

"Yah.."
"Im weak now.. stop bullying me.."

"Okayokay" chuckled Yuri.
"I went out to get a present for you"
"A horror surprise"

Jessica's eyes widened in interest.
Yuri turned to her right and fished out a paper bag she got it from the shop where Jessica found her.

"Look" said Yuri as she opened the bag and took out a green colour soft toy and place it right infront of Jessica.

Jessica literally screamed, as much and as loud as her voice could take her.
Yuri quickly put her hands over Jessica's mouth, giggling all over herself.

"YAH!"
"Its just a soft toy"
"Plus look" said Yuri as she made Jessica take a closer look.
"Its me yah!"

Jessica took a peep at the cucumber soft toy and was shocked to see Yuri's face on it.
Hesistating whether to grab the soft toy that has Yuri but with a cucumber body or just return it to Yuri.
But there's Yuri in it, how can she not want it.

Jessica pouted.

"I dont want a cucumber.." muttered Jessica as she pushed it away back to Yuri.

"You sure?" asked Yuri as she eyed at Jessica doubtingly.
"There is me here you know sweetheart"
"It can be with you, representing me when im not around you"
"You can even hug it when you sleep"

"Why did you even choose a cucumber..?"
"I dont want a cucumber.."
"Of all things, a cucumber..?"
"You know i hate cucumber.."
"To the extend of getting allergies to it.." grumbled Jessica with a pout.

"Thats why i want you to have this"
"Its a soft toy, smell it"
"Theres even a scent of my perfume!"
"No cucumber smell"
"In this way, you can definitely overcome your cucumber fear!" said Yuri, laughing happily at Jessica's reaction.

Jessica glared at Yuri, despite the fact that she's weak,
she still hold that glare inside her.

"Yah, dont be like this"
"Come on" said Yuri as she stuffed the cucumber to Jessica, which Jessica reluctantly accepted it.
"Thats my sweetheart" added Yuri with a smile as she patted on Jessica's head.
"Now, tell me what happened, okay?"

Jessica sighed sadly as she eyed at the broken ukelele.

"My mum.."
"She came over.."
"I didnt want to see her.."
"But she insisted on talking and talking Yul.."
"I told her to leave.."
"I did.. i told her.."
"She didnt leave.."
"She just continued and i didnt want to listen to i plugged in my MP3.."
"And played with my ukelele.."
"Omma's angry.. she threw it and broke it.." said Jessica in tears.

"Awww" cooed Yuri as she pulled Jessica tighter into her embrace.
"She's probably very helpless sweetheart"
"She's really concerned about you"
"Because of your fever, she just gave you a sponge bath"

"But she broke my heart.. Yul.."
"My MP3 wasnt even on.."
"I didnt want to listen.."
"My heart does.. so i didnt on it.."
"Really Yul.."

"Do you still want to listen then?"
"Your parents, they are worried about you but they dont dare to come in"
"Because they are worried about your condition"
"They dont want to be the cause of your sudden outburst"

Jessica sighed softly and looked at Yuri with a pair of wet teary eyes.

"You do right?"
"They are at the canteen now, do you want be to bring you there?"

Jessica remained silent.
With a smile, Yuri picked Jessica up easily in her arms.

"Sweetheart, you really have to gain some weight"
"You're getting lighter and lighter"
"What am i gonna do?" joked Yuri as she carried Jessica, bringing her IV solutions with her.

Arriving at the canteen, because it was pretty empty,
Jessica and Yuri came in sight to Mr and Mrs Jung almost immediately.

Mr Jung was persuading Mrs Jung to eat something,
but it seems like Mrs Jung werent willing to.
Mrs Jung seems to be pushing it away, shaking her head sadly.

"Look sweetheart"
"Your mum, she must be worried about you"
"She havent been eating well these days"

"Yul.."
"Can you put me down..?"

Yuri nodded with a smile as she slowly put Jessica down.
Holding onto Jessica, giving her support,
Yuri followed Jessica side by side.

To her surprise,
Jessica didnt head straight towards her parents but went towards a stall and ordered some food.
Carrying the tray of food, Jessica slowly walked over to Mr and Mrs Jung,
Trying her best not to trip over.

Reaching Mr and Mrs Jung's table, Jessica sat down beside Mr and Mrs Jung,
putting the tray infront of her parents.

"Sweetie..?"

"Sooyeon..?"
"Why are you here..?"
"Shouldnt you be resting in bed?" asked Mr Jung concernly.

Mrs Jung watched Jessica in disbelief,
couldnt believe her eyes.

"Eat" muttered Jessica as she pushed the tray to Mrs Jung.

"Sorry..?"
"Sweetie..?"

"I told you to eat.."
"Dont, dont starve yourself because of me"
"Its not worth it" said Jessica bluntly.

"Its you who bought me this, sweetie"
"Of course i'll eat it"
"But who said its not worth it?" said Mrs Jung, getting a little teary as she held onto Jessica's hands,
carressing gently with love.
"Its hurting omma to see you like this sweetie"
"Omma didnt mean to break your heart like this sweetie"
"Omma will try to cancel the arranged marriage alright?"
"Please stop torturing yourself like this.."
"Omma rather lose anything than losing you sweetie.."

Jessica kept silent, while tears slowly escaped her eyes,
and streamed down her face like a river.

"Why are you crying sweetie?"
"Dont cry"
"Omma's the one sorry for everything"
"Sorry for hurting you, sorry for causing your sudden outburst"
"Sorry for causing you to faint in the streets"
"Sorry for breaking your heart, sweetie"

Jessica further pushed the tray to Mrs Jung's side.

"Eat"

Deep inside Jessica's heart,
she didnt know what to say to Mrs Jung.
Yes, her heart was broken by Mrs Jung.
But a broken heart doesnt mean Jessica is not concerned by Mrs Jung.
Jessica loves her parents.
But unfortunately, she is the one always getting hurt.

"Sweetie.."
"Omma will eat, do you want some too?" asked Mrs Jung with a weak smile.

Jessica shook her head.

"Arasso"
"Omma will finish everything up okay?"

30 minutes later, after Mrs Jung finished the food that Jessica bought her,
Jessica stared at Mrs Jung.

"Explain.." said Jessica coldly.

"Explain?" repeated Mrs Jung in confusion.

"Shes want to know about the arranged marriage Mrs Jung"
"Shes ready to listen" said Yuri, who had been standing behind Jessica for a long time.

"Oh"
"Sweetie, i dont know if you believe omma"
"But this is the truth"
"When you were very young, i dont think you could remember"
"We've brought you to a gigantic mansion, Lee mansion"
"They were holding a gathering"
"Then the owner of the Lee mansion, a grandfather Lee"
"He really liked you, so he said he wanted his grandson to be your husband"
"We thought he were joking, so we just agreed readily"

"But neither did we know he remembered it very clearly"
"And we've received a letter from him a few months ago"
"You werent home, and we couldnt contact you Sooyeon" added Mr Jung in distress.

"We didnt want to hurt you sweetie"
"At that point of time, we didnt know you were sick"

"If i werent sick, you'll be marrying me off like that?"
"Not knowing what is happening?" asked Jessica in disbelief.
"Have i made the wrong choice of coming down here to listen?" added Jessica as she massaged her temples.

"Sweetie, im sorry"
"But since you dont want it, omma and appa will do our best to push it away"
"Just please, dont push away the doctors omma and appa has invited them over"
"We want you to recover sweetie"
"We dont want you to be spending the time in the hospital when you should be spending it with your friends"
"In the malls, with sleepovers sweetie"

Jessica closed her eyes.
Her headache was getting into her.

"Whats wrong Sooyeon?"

"Sweetie..?"

"Dizzyy.." mumbled Jessica before darkness took over her.

Thank goodness Yuri reacted fast enough to grab Jessica.
Mrs Jung immediately bent over to Jessica and felt her temperature.

"She's still running a temperature Yuri"
"But dont worry, its not as high as then"
"Probably, the sponge bath has helped"
"Lets bring her back up, she needs more rest" instructed Mrs Jung as she and Mr Jung followed Yuri behind,
who was carrying Jessica in her arms in bridal style.

"You're strong, Yuri" commented Mr Jung suddenly.
"Its rare to see how strong a girl is"

"Jessica's too light now"
"Thats why" lied Yuri calmly.

Bringing Jessica back to her room and slowly laid her back on the bed,
Yuri let out a soft chuckle as she put the cucumber in Jessica's arms.

"Feel better sweetheart"
"I hope the cucumber me makes you feel safe too" whispered Yuri into Jessica's ears with a smile.
