Few hours after Jessica had fallen asleep in Yuri's warm embrace,
she was awoken by a knock on the door and people in white robes came shuffling into the room.
While the doctors waited for Jessica to slowly regain her consciousness,
the nurses went over to remove the empty bag of solution that was given to her through the chest infus hours ago.

"Jessica-sshi"
"How are you feeling right now?"

"Lethargic..?"
"Tired..?" said Jessica weakly.

"Okay, this is normal"
"If at any point of time and you dont feel well"
"Please press on the red button there" said the doctors, pointing towards an emergency receiver.
"We'll be here shortly"

Jessica nodded.

"Like we've said earlier"
"After that bag of chemotheraphy solution"
"We'll be giving you the first injection of the day into your spinal fluid Jessica-sshi"

"Okay.." said Jessica as she turned to Yuri.

Yuri flashed her an encouraging smile.

"So we need you to lie flat on your stomach"
"Do you need any help to do so?"

Jessica shook her head and turned to Yuri.
With a nod from Yuri, she got off Jessica's bed and slowly helped Jessica turn flat on the bed.

The doctors then started surrounding Jessica's bed,
pushing Yuri aside.
Fishing out a long needle, which was said to be the spine needle.

"Jessica-sshi"
"This will hurt a little, but we'll try our best to not make it hurt that much" informed the doctors respectfully.

The nurses went over to Jessica and flipped up her top,
revealing Jessica's lower back, bare.
The doctors then used an alcoholic swab and wiped Jessica's back before inserting the spine needle into her back.

"We're going to insert it now" said the doctors.

As soon as they said it, there was a prick felt on Jessica's back.
Everything was bearable until the needle was trying to get into Jessica's spine made Jessica tensed up.

"Jessica-sshi, you have to relax"
"If you're so tense up, your muscles would tighten"
"And the needle cant get it" said the doctors worriedly.

"But.. it hurts.." whispered Jessica softly, her hands grabbing onto the silk bedsheet tightly.

Her knuckles were slowly turning white.
The doctors didnt have a choice but to force the needle in further before they heard a barely audible crack sound,
showing that the needle has entered the spine.

However, tears of pain were rolling down Jessica's face.
She clinched her teeth, tight as to stop her from screaming out like the first time she did.

"We're releasing the medicine now" informed the doctors as the syringe of solution was slowly injected into Jessica's back.

Yuri, on the side was watching the whole process.
Her heart broke, watching the tears of Jessica's falling freely down her cheeks.
Few minutes later, the doctors were done and had the equipments packed up,
they were about to leave the room but turned back and told Jessica,

"Jessica-sshi, please do not turn over or anything for another 2hours"
"The medicine will flow through your spine through the 2hours as it starts to take effect"
"And you might feel a burning pain sensation at your back during the whole effect"
"As long as you felt it, it means that the medicine is working"
"Its destroying the cancer cells in it"

"How long will it last?" asked Yuri suddenly as she stepped forward.

"Usually, around 3-4 hours"

"What?!"
"3-4 hours?!"
"How are you going to ask her endure that?!"
"You're the doctors, cant you all do something to lessen her agony?!"

"Im sorry but there is nothing we can do about it"
"Probably you might wanna put some ice pack over it when the effect takes place" said the doctors before closing the door behind them.

Yuri sighed and walked over to Jessica with a piece of tissue as she wiped the tears off Jessica's face.

"Does it still hurt?" asked Yuri concernly as she brushed Jessica's fringe aside, squating down to Jessica's eye level.

Jessica smiled weakly and shook her head.

"Ani, it dont anymore"

"You sure?"

Yuri was doubting Jessica's answer.
She was worried that Jessica said no because she doesnt want her to worry.
But, the more she is going to do that,
the more worried Yuri will be.

"Dont tell me its not because you're afraid that it will worry me sweetheart"
"Nothing worries me more than you lying and hiding your pain sweetheart"

Jessica's eyes softened a little and smiled.

"Its still bearable, dont worry"

"Bearable?"
"Why did you cry just now?"

"You said it was just now"
"Not now"

Yuri sighed sadly at Jessica's wittiness.

"Yul, do you still want to hear about my family since im awake?"

"Anytime for you sweetheart"

"But can you hold on to my hands this time round?"

Yuri smiled and immediately went to hold onto Jessica's hands tightly.

"Of course"
"2 hours later, i wont be"
"And you'll be in my arms instead" smirked Yuri.

Jessica chuckled.

"I told you about my parents"
"They were too busy for me right?"

Yuri nodded.

"I grew up alone, only with my grandfather at times"
"You saw me, i entered his office when Tiffany was here"
"He was the one who showered me with much love whenever he sees me"
"Look at that" said Jessica as she pointed to the ukelele over at the side table.

"It was a gift from him"
"A birthday gift"
"Because i love to sing, he gifted me this when i was 9 Yul"
"I kept it nicely till now"

"Then why not you tell him about your condition now?"
"You'll have him to take care of you"

Jessica pouted.

"You dont want to take care of me now?"

Yuri smiled and nodded her head wildly.

"Of course im willing to take care of you"
"I can give up everything, everything"
"Even to the extend of giving up my chance to ascend the throne sweetheart"

"You wont be, and you cant" interupted a voice.

"Taeyeon?"

"Hey Jessi, how're you feeling now?" asked Tiffany as she walked over and brushed Jessica's hair.
"Why are you lying in this awkward position?"

"The doctors had just injected something into my spine"
"They said i need to be in this position for around 2hours"

"Does it hurt?"

"Nope, it doesnt" smiled Jessica sweetly.

"Guess so"
"How can someone like you understand the real feeling of hurt?" chuckled Tiffany as she took a seat beside Jessica's bed.

"Anyway, Yul"
"Appa and omma seems to really like Jessica"
"They are waiting for her return" said Taeyeon as she took a seat beside Tiffany.

"Jinjja?!"
"Jeongmalyo?"

Taeyeon nodded with a smile.

"But i dont know when can she return.." whispered Yuri softly to Taeyeon sadly.

"Dont think i cant hear you Yul" said Jessica with her tongue stucked out.
"I'll leave after my first cycle of treatment Yul"
"Which is 7 days later"

"The doctors didnt even approve it!" defended Yuri.

"They will definitely approve it"

"Sweetheart, why are you always doing this?"

"Jessi, if the doctors says its better to be in the hospital"
"You should heed their advise" agreed Tiffany with a nod.

"Precisely, Jessica"
"You know we are all worried about you like this"
"When you're acting all so opposite" added Taeyeon with a disapproving look.

Jessica rolled her eyes.

"The three of you, dont even understand how am i feeling right now"
"All you three knew was to stop me from doing this and that"
"Deprieving me of my freedom"
"I can easily give my live up to this irritating cancer inside me and leave the hospital"
"Or i could just play a hide and seek games with you three if you three are going to continue like this" said Jessica firmly with a deadly glare.

"Sweetheart.."

"Stop sweetheart-ing me Yul"
"I know you all are worried about me"
"But can you all please, please"
"At least give me a space to breathe"
"You all, are suffocating me now" said Jessica sadly.
"How i wished i wasnt even diagnosed with this" added Jessica in a soft whisper.
"My parents were never bothered about me"

"Jessi.."
"Let me go talk to your mum and dad..?" suggested Tiffany after seeing Jessica's sad expression.

"No.."
"You'll get scolded Tiff"
"Dont, its okay"

"Why not tell your grandfather sweetheart?"

"Yup, Jessi"
"I remember your grandfather dotes on you a lot"

Jessica nodded as her face broke into a heartwarming smile.

"He dotes on me, a lot"
"Thats true"
"But, i dont want him to quarrel with my parents because of me"
"It happened once, and it was a nightmare"

"It did?"
"Why didnt you tell me before?" asked Tiffany, looking all so concerned.

"I dont like to share things like this Tiff"
"Its not like i dont trust you, but i just dont like to share things like this" said Jessica with a shrug.

"How about now sweetheart?"
"Are you willing to share?"

"..."
"..."
"Well.."

The three sat right up, and watched Jessica attentively.

"It happened when i was 16"
"Okay, it wasnt very long ago but just 2 years ago"
"Tiff, do you remember there was a week i couldnt attend school?"

Tiffany nodded.

"But you didnt tell us why" added Tiffany with a frown.

"I didnt want you two to worry''
"I was ill, pretty badly"
"I had a really high fever that refused to break"
"At then, i was drifting from unconsciousness to consciousness, and again and again"
"Couldnt even get myself out of the bed"
"The butlers were very worried so they called my parents but were brushed off by them"
"So in desperation, they went to call my grandfather"
"He actually threw everything aside and rushed back home"
"Bringing the doctors from the hospital"

Jessica winced a little at the burning pain that was starting to take effect at her back.

"What happened sweetheart?"

Jessica smiled slightly and shook Yuri off.

"At least its working"

"I can go get one for you now" said Yuri worriedly as she turned to leave but was caught by Jessica on her wrist.

Yuri nodded with a worried look as she sat back down on the chair.

"So in the end, the doctors said i was badly dehydrated because of my fever"
"And my fever was due to some bad virus infection"

"It was that bad then?!"
"You should have told us Jessi"
"Sunny and I would have rushed to your place to bring you to the hospital!"

"I told you i couldnt get myself out of bed"
"How would i even get the energy to call you?"
"Back to it, so after the doctors are done and left my house"
"I drifted back to sleep again"
"Awoken few hours later due to the loud quarrels heard outside"
"My grandfather was scolding my parents for neglecting me and that i was so sick and they werent even bothered"
"My parents shouted back at my grandfather for not understanding them due to their workload"
"It went on for an hour or so till i pushed myself out of the bed and stopped their quarrel"

"That was harsh Jessi"
"Or do you want Sunny's parents to be here for you?" suggested Tiffany.
"I cant call mine because im in the same situation" added Tiffany with a soft sigh.

Taeyeon immediately put her hands over Tiffany's shoulders comfortingly.
Tiffany turned and smiled to Taeyeon sweetly.

"Well, theres no need to call for them already" interrupted a voice.

The 4 turned to their the door and Tiffany smiled immediately as she rushed towards the people entering the room.

"Omma, appa" greeted Tiffany warmly with a bear hug.

"Aww"
"Tiff, its been some time right?" replied the couple.

"I've missed you two!"

"We missed you two"
"And, Jessi you're so disappointing" said the couple as they approached Jessica with disappointed eyes.

Jessica averted their gaze guiltily.

"How could you keep your illness from us?!"
"Have you been considering about us?!"
"What about the years of calling us 'omma' and 'appa'?" scolded the couple angrily.

Jessica teared up as she slowly got up into a sitting position after getting the injection.
Before a single word escaped Jessica's mouth, tears took a step earlier and flowed down her face.

"We're really disappointed with you Jessi"
"You really dont regard us as omma and appa right?"
"Then i think its better for us to leave right?" said the couple sadly as they turned for the door.

Jessica cried, with her hands reached out for the couple's hands.

"Omma, appa"
"Jeongmal chaeseonghamnida"
"Gajimal!" cried Jessica sadly as she held onto Sunny's parents.
"Jebal.."
"Omma.. appa.."
"Nan neomu appa.."
"Gajimal.." begged Jessica with more tears flowing out of it.

Sunny's parents sighed and turned to Jessica,
settling down beside her on the bed and brought her into a warm embrace.

"Dont cry, Jessi"
"Dont, why didnt you tell us?"
"You know how worried we were when Sunny told us?"
"You are like our daughter, as important as Sunny"
"How can you keep it from us?"

"Appa.. omma.."
"I dont want you to worry.." sobbed Jessica.

"You dont want us to worry"
"Dont want Sunny, Tiffany and your friends here to worry"
"Neither do you want to bother your family"
"Whats left of you Jessi?"
"You're so silly, arent you?"

"My parents.."
"They will scold me.."
"You're here, arent you?"
"Its already good enough"

Jessica shook her head violently at the choice.

The couple frowned but nodded in the end.

Jessica nodded with a thankful smile.

"Rest now alright?" said the couple as they tucked Jessica back to bed.
"We'll see you when you're up again okay?"

"Neh omma and appa" answered Jessica with a nod as she closes her eyes.

Within minutes, Jessica had already fallen into deep slumber.
After everyone had confirmed that Jessica had really fallen asleep,
everyone went out of the room and sat at the chairs outside it.

7 people were seated on the chairs outside the VIP room,
facing each other with a solemn yet worried look.

"So, have you all talked to the doctors about her condition?" started Sunny's mum.

"We've yet to find a time to talk to them since we all had our stuff to do"
"And i've been accompanying her ever since im here"
"Its her first day in the hospital" said Yuri.

"Yup, we had just arrived not long ago too" added TaeNy in unison.

"Well, omma"
"I went to bring you here so that explains my reason too"

Sunny's parents sighed.

"Since things are already like this"
"Can one of you ask the doctors here so that we can discuss more on Jessi's condition?" asked Sunny's dad with a frown.
"Jessi doesnt want her parents to know so we'll take care of her first"

"Okay, we'll go" volunteered YoonSun.

10 minutes later, they returned with a group of doctors behind them.

"Anyeonghaseyo" greeted the doctors with a smile.

"Anyeonghaseyo"
"We're like Jessica's parents"
"Can we know more about her conditions?"

"Oh, okay"
"Well, currently her cancer cells have spreaded pretty far"
"It went all the way to her spine already"
"So we've prepared 2 forms of chemotheraphy for her hoping that it will reverse the situation"
"And it will be held for 7 days straight" explained the doctors.

"What happens after the 7 days?" asked Sunny's mum.

"She'll get 3-4 days break from it"
"Which we call it a rest period after a cycle of chemotheraphy"

"Is there any other ways we can cure her right now?"

"There is, of course"
"But chances are really exceptionally low"

"Why?"

"Jessica-sshi has the rarest blood type"

"Its like 1 out of 30 people will have such blood type" explained the doctors sadly.
"We need the same blood type to be able to donate their bone marrow to her"
"And as of now, there arent any one available"
"We doctors with that blood type had even went for a test but it wasnt successful"
"So now, we can only put her on the waiting list"

Sunny's parents mouth dropped open to the drastic situation Jessica was in.
It was certainly sad, but it didnt stop them to show their sadness towards Jessica.
They believed that Jessica had always been a strong girl, believed that she could win the cancer.

"According to your predictions, how long will she have to wait before getting a donor?"

"Fast it might be a year, slow might be a few"

"WHAT?!"
"Are you bloody kidding me?!" exclaimed Yuri in shock.
"You want her to go through your horrendous treatment for 1 whole year?!"
"Did you even know how much pain she felt when you gave her that damn jab?!"

Taeyeon stood up and pushed Yuri back down on the seat.

"Get a hold of yourself Yul"
"No one wants it to be like this right?"
"Plus, its beyond what these doctors here could do"
"You have to understand things Yul"
"We know you're worried but by worrying"
"It dont really help at all" persuaded Taeyeon calmly.
"Im sure Jessica is strong and can overcome everything"

"She's right, agasshi"
"Nowadays, many are being cured of leukemia"
"Jessica-sshi might also be able to walk through it" said the doctors with an encouraging smile.
"We too want Jessica-sshi to walk through it too"

"Okay, thanks a lot doctors"
"Thanks for taking your time to fill us in with her condition"
"Please do inform us if there is any change with her condition" said Sunny's parents in unison.

"Of course i will"
"I'll get going now and i'll be back later after Jessica-sshi had her dinner"

With that, the doctors left the crowd and went back to their offices.
Yuri sat on the chair, with a depressed sad look.
While others did likewise.

Few hours later, Yuri suddenly stood up from her seat and walked away from the rest.
Leaving them with a dumbfounded expression.

Knocking on the door, Yuri didnt wait for any cue but just walked straight into the room.
The door read 'CEO'.

"Anyeonghaseyo Mr.Jung" greeted Yuri politely with a 90 degrees bow.

Mr Jung looked up from his table.
Putting down his glasses, he stared at Yuri with wonder.

"Anyeonghaseyo"
"Agasshi, may i know who are you?"

"Mr Jung, im Jessica's friend"

"Sooyeon's friend?"

Yuri nodded.

"Whats wrong with Sooyeon?"

"She's admitted into the hospital Mr Jung"
"She didnt want to tell you but i thought it would be best if i let you know"

"What?!"
"Sooyeon's admitted into the hospital?!" exclaimed Mr Jung in shocked as worries filled his face.
"Where is she now?!"
