~Eunhyuk’s POV~

~During Dinner~

I was pretty proud of myself when I won the argument with ____, but c’mon a girl alone in a house with pretty high to slim chances of anything happening at any moment when she’s by herself, I would not take no for an answer as I’ve already seen ____ go through hell and only recently came back to smiling like her true self. I knew forcing myself to technically ‘live’ with her for a week or so would be pushing certain boundaries as I already got the message that she only sees me as a friend even though we did make out.

It really hurt to think that even though I was there to comfort her through a really complex situation, in all honesty, I felt used. I really hate that word when used among humans, it feels degrading and that ‘sick’ feeling in the pit of my stomach would react to such word(s). But I knew this all too well as I’ve seen the way ____ looked at Donghae and how her looked at her, you could tell that they truly loved each other and they could overcome whatever obstacle you layout for them, but of course my jealousy got the best of me and I ended up trying to steal her away from my best friend.

As I was feeling guilty and drinking about half of the small cup of sake, I didn’t notice how somewhat quiet it was at our table until I didn’t hear ____’s voice for a little bit, I looked up and saw that again she was in a daze so I decided to ‘wake her up’ and questioning her if she’s alright. I did and practically she immediately grabbed the cup of alcohol and downed it. I have to admit it, but I didn’t know ____ would be willing to drink some sake. I would’ve warned her about taking it slow when drinking it but she just shot it into as if it’s nothing so I just assumed. But then I noticed her cough a bit after it was gone and got a little worried but I thought she might’ve actually wanted to drink with me so I poured her another serving.

As we ate dinner I noticed that she was drinking a lot which had me really worried as I don’t want her to be too drunk, I rather have her sober but I don’t think that will happen as she was already done with her 4th cup of alcohol while still eating. I didn’t feel like being too controlling over her as I already pushed myself into staying with her during the time her mom will be gone so I just—somewhat—let her go.

Just minutes after a short observation of her behavior I noticed that she was swaying side to side and her eyes were halfway open, ‘Oh crap’ I mentally noted, as I knew she was going down, “____” I harshly whispered just loud enough for her to hear if she could but nothing as she was out like a burned light bulb. I sighed as I called it a night and asked for a waiter to bring me the bill and containers to take the leftover food. “Well ____, if I knew your alcohol tolerance was low, I wouldn’t have given you any. Ah damn.” I talked as if she was listening but I shrugged it off and the waiter was back with the bill and containers, he helped me put the leftover food into the containers as there was still a lot of food left, once that was done I pulled out my debt card and placed it in the voucher’s folder, then handed it off to pay.

Once everything was taken care of I stared at ____ for a little bit as I was fixing myself up a bit preparing to carry her out of here while one of the waiters help me with the bag of leftovers. I kindly thanked them and send my thankfulness to the manager and head chief while getting into the car and heading towards ____’s home. “____, what am I going to do with you…” I rhetorically asked.

My phone went off with a message ringtone while I was still on the freeway, of course I’m not suppose to take phone calls or text while driving but I needed to know if it was from one of my hyungs about practice tomorrow or if there are any changes to our schedule, so I quickly press the home button to wake it up and see it’s from Donghae. ‘Oh crap, that’s right…’ it only occurred to me once I saw his name but I promised that I would talk to him once I get back to our apartment complex.

I heaved a heavy sigh at the thought but I promised to stay with ____, but I also promised Donghae, “Damn…” I cussed while impatiently tapping my index finger on the steering wheel. I thought about it and well, I did promise Donghae first so I have to go through with that promise even though I’m still a little mad at him but none-the-less, I’m his bestfriend/rival so…what the hell.

I first took care of ____ once I reached her house and carried her on my back to her room where I softly and gently laid her on the bed, fixing her position where it would be comfortable, then headed out making sure that I locked the door. Before starting the car I checked the text message that Donghae sent, it read:

Hey Eunhyuk, I really need your advice on something ‘cause you know that I’ve already made a huge mistake before and you’re my bestfriend. Could you please help me?

I felt somewhat of a tug at my heart as I know what he was talking about, but he doesn’t know about ____ and I during the time she was avoiding him to which I don’t want him to know about compared to me wanting to know what he needs advice on. As I backed the car out of the drive way and headed towards the apartment complex I thought of various things as to what he would need my advice on, the tone of the message seemed serious. As if he’s begging.

~Donghae’s POV~
 

I waited impatiently for Eunhyuk’s reply but nothing. I waited a little longer, still nothing; I got my mind off of that while thinking of how or what I’m going to say to Eunhyuk, it’s not as easy as it sounds if you ask me. It’s pretty obvious that he likes ____, I’ve been aware of that for a while but never really bothered with it as I was happy with ____, but I noticed only recently that Eunhyuk’s stare has intensified I can’t quite put my finger on it but I have a feeling that something has changed.

I was sitting on the couch in the living room of my condo when I got a text message.

Hey Donghae, sorry about that, I almost forgot. Sorry, it’s just been a really tiring day but I’ll be over in about 5 minutes.

It felt as if my chest got lighter. Having the whole ‘going-to-the-states’ thing is a little risky as I don’t know what kind of power that has over there but I’ll find out if my bestfriend is willing to give my advice. Then I heard the doorbell ring, I smoothly stride to the door, and open it, I felt pretty bad for making Eunhyuk listen to this dumb idea of going out of the country as I know we have a bunch of things to do this entire week and so on, but I really want to make sure that doesn't mess with me or ____ ever again.

He gave a slight smile and greeted me with a simple “Hi” and I did the same while gesturing him to come inside. There was an awkward-tense atmosphere and the adrenaline wasn’t helping, ‘C’mon Donghae, you just need to mention it and ask what he thinks.’ I reminded myself, as there shouldn’t be anything to sweat about. Eunhyuk took a seat on the solo couch while I took mines on a three-seated one. I cleared my throat and took a deep breath.

~Conversation~

Eunhyuk: Alright Donghae, so what’s wrong? You seem a little…tense?

Donghae: Okay, well…I’ve been thinking and you know the whole blackmailing thing with that Eun Mi girl, ____, and myself were and probably still entangled with. Well I was thinking I should personally go to her, her meaning Han Eun Mi.

Eunhyuk: Wait, what? You’re crazy Donghae she already left, why would you bother? Don’t tell me you’ve grown to like her because if you have I’m going to punch the daylights out of—

Donghae: No! No, no, no, of course not! Jeez Eunhyuk, I just want to make sure she doesn’t mess with me or ____ for good I mean she was really ing good at hiding her real name which is actually “Sun Hee” and I just…

Eunhyuk: Donghae listen, you do know that—

Donghae: That you like ____...Yeah I know…

Eunhyuk: Coming from a man-to-man perspective, I see you as a rival and as much as I just want to get a lot of alone time with ____, I would tell you to go… But as a bestfriend I would say it’s a bad idea, why? Well what if she’s already being punished for what she’s done? What’s the point, you’re just wasting your energy over some that didn’t or doesn’t have anything better else to do besides burn all that money that her parents make.

I’m both your love rival and bestfriend so you choose either which one you see me now because I’ll tell you this. I am not going to back down. Do whatever you think is right, but I’ve warned you.

As the two had a stare down, both men got their answers. Eunhyuk kept his glare on the other, as he needed to head back to ____’s house, as he was heading for the door, “Well I need to sleep and get back to ____, she’s by herself” He said coldly with a smirk on his lips trying to brag about staying with ____ for a while he then bid his farewell, this of course made Donghae mad and confused he tried to open his mouth to speak but was a little too late as the door closed. “What the hell Eunhyuk?” Donghae had muttered under his breath, as he was furious about the other’s actions.

~Eunhyuk’s POV~

I snickered to myself as I was walking towards my condo to pack myself a week or so worth of clothes along with toiletries and whatever else I needed, ‘I’m seriously not going to back down Donghae, no matter if our friendship is on the line or whatever it maybe, I’m not backing down’ I thought confidently and highly of myself as it felt good to finally have it out there. I casually yet quickly packed my essentials into a duffle bag then headed back to my future girlfriend’s home.

I arrived at her home just when my rival texted me.
