Three days, and nothing, waiting is hard, part of me is worried she won’t leave the next letter, part of me is scared that the next letter she’ll decide she’s had enough of this and tell me she’d done. I hope she’ll continue, I want to know why she loves me, and I want to tell her why I love her. Getting out of bed, going into the kitchen I grab a tangerine peeling it looking out the window absent mindedly, until the red envelope catches my eyes.

Running to grab it I quickly walk back inside to read the words she’s recently thought of, written down, the paper she’s touched. Opening it I forget about my food entirely.

Dear Onew,

               I know I probably am keeping you waiting on edge for these letters, but some days it gets hard to write down my reasons, to tell you them…But I know I can’t leave you wondering, I couldn’t do that to you. I miss you Onew. I miss you so much. I miss the way you’d whisper you love me.

Reason Sixteen: You whisper ‘I love you’

I remember getting home from school or work and you’d ask me how my day was, you’d never leave it at ‘Fine’ you’d want to know why, it really is sweet. You care enough to know about my day.

Reason Seventeen: The way you insist I tell you about my day

Or when I was having a bad day you’d tell me jokes or cheesy little sayings to get the smile tugging on my lips, the laugh erupting, until I was feeling better, my day wasn’t horrible until I could forget about all the crappy things that had happened.

Reason Eighteen: You tell me cheesy things to get me to smile

I love how you say my name, with so much care, and feelings. I know you care for me, I miss that too…

Reason Nineteen: The way you whisper, say, and yell my name

Chicken. The word is special to me now, I know I complained about you telling me about chicken but really I love it. I miss it; I miss you talking about chicken.

P.S. The next letter will be on your mailbox, Onew, stay healthy don’t let this erode you away. I want you to stay active, happy and healthy while I write these letters. For me stay in good health.

Looking at my food, I eat the tangerine, and make a sandwich; I’ll do anything to keep Soon-Kyu in my life. I miss you too Soon-Kyu, so much my heart hurts.

After eating my sandwich I pull out a pen and write out my twenty reasons that I have so far.

Reason Sixteen: You worry about me

Reason Seventeen: To know that we both still miss each other

Reason Eighteen: The way you’d dance when making food

Reason Nineteen: You’d wake up early on Sundays and make breakfast for me so I could eat in bed

Reason Twenty: How you could be completely and totally stubborn
