   I sighed and shook my head. “I told you both, nobody’s taking me home.”

   I got my books from Dongho and walked towards the exit. I looked back and shot an apologetic glance at the both of them who looked really pissed.

  But I noticed…Where was l.joe?

 He probably walked off already. I sighed and looked ahead when it started to rain. I took my small umbrella out of my bag and started walking towards the main road. I stepped on some puddles and giggled quietly to myself. Some people looked at me and rolled their eyes at my childishness. I pursed my lips and ignored them.  

   As I neared the bus stop, I saw a familiar figure ahead, passing by the playground. I tilted my head and my eyes widened.

   It’s was L.joe. Was his house the same direction as mine was? But why doesn’t he have an umbrella? I frowned and as I ran towards him. I skidded to a stop in front of him as he fixed his shoelaces and I secured the umbrella under the two of us.

   He looked up, probably wondering why the rain had stopped. He stood up and faced me. He blinked and ran a hand through his wet hair.

   “What’re you doing here alone?” he asked.

   “I didn’t want them to walk me home.” I replied. He looked away from me and cleared his throat.

   “Get going already the rain’s starting to pour hard.” He mumbled.

   I looked at his soaked uniform and his hair was dripping wet. My eyebrows scrunched together and I frowned, shaking my head.

  “But you’re going to get wet. Just stay under here until the rain stops.” I said, gesturing to my umbrella.

   He seemed to scoff and an amused smile crossed his face. He looked back at me.

   “I can handle myself. I’m a guy remember?”

   I rolled my eyes. “Guys can be weak too you know.”

   He shrugged. “Probably.”

   “Don’t you have an umbrella?” I asked. He nodded. “Then why aren’t you using it stupid.”

   “It’s in my locker.” He said, raising his eyebrow. “Isn’t it rude to call someone older than you stupid?”

   I shrugged, imitating him. “Probably.”

   He snorted and shook his head. “Weird girl.”

   I smiled at him but felt kinda uncomfortable being so close to him under just an umbrella. I moved away from him, afraid that I just took away his personal space.

   He seemed to notice this and looked down. “So should I take you home then?”

   “What?” I asked, surprised.

   “Is your house just a few blocks from here? I can walk you there.” He smiled.

   He’s…smiling a lot today. It’s kinda creepy.

   “I heard that.” He snickered.

   “Yah, why are you even laughing?” I frowned.

   He waved it off, still chuckling.

   “So can I or not?”
