“Hey, since we’re waiting for the gates to open, how about I show you a special place?” you remembered and got excited

He nodded after a bit of thought. You smiled and got up, leading Minwoo to around the corner of the school and down a hallway.

“I’ve never been here before.” He looked around curiously

“Yeah, well… it is your first year. This is the only original building of the school left, all the others are newly built. So not many people come here anymore, and so our special place doesn’t have many visitors come now.

“Oh I see… so… did a lot of people used to come to this place?”

“Mmm… sort of. So far I’ve only shown Suzy here, because its been almost 2 years since everyone used to come here. When we used to come here a lot, yeah, almost the whole class. Now everyone has found their own new spots, which is sort of a good thing I guess… so we don’t have to worry now that new students will come here and change it. It’s really nice, I think you’ll like it. There’s so much to do here.” You turned around and smiled at him, showing him you were excited  

“Here it is oppa! What do you think?” you open your arms as you opened the door for Minwoo to walk inside

It was a veranda like spot with a long table, white seats and wooden bars around the outside. It was a lookout to the school which was about 5 floors below. It seemed secure and safe. There were cute flower pots hanging off the top of the bars and some sparkling chains of different colours, each with a name on them

“These… everyone who came here had one right?”Minwoo felt one and heard the small bell ring in the light wind of this beautiful day

You nodded. “Mmm… we were all really good friends then. There’s about 20 of them here… some of them said that if you write a wish on the paper, the special power in this place will make it come true… But I think, if that’s true, it is because of the love in our strong friendships… mm… do you want to do one?” you smiled while asking him

He smiled while walking across the wooden planks, sweeping his hand across every coloured chain, twisting them over to see the name. Until he stopped at one.

“Song Hyemi. Found it.” He smiled and looked at you

“You can read it oppa, we each put our own little message on it.” You smiled back

“I hope we can be friends forever. Song Hyemi. :)” Minwoo read your message out and giggled after

“Here oppa. You like red right?” you handed him a red chain, it looked almost new, and some red paper to write on.

“But… what do I write?” he looked at you in confusion

“Mm… something that’s important to you… or just… a message that you will can read over for your life and smile at it again and again.” You tapped your head as you spoke, and he nodded

“Okay then… “ Minwoo flicked the red pen around his hand as he thought, then an idea popped into his head and he smiled proudly

You stood back and watched him smiling happily

“Okay, I’m done. Can I hang it up?” he stuck the paper on the chain and picked it up, admiring it proudly

You nodded. “Nae.” He smiled and walked over to where your chain was, and hanged his next to yours. It was on the right of your chain. Now there was a pink and red one.

“Oppa, what did you write?” you looked up into his sparkling eyes

“Hee! It’s a secret Hyemi-ah… can’t tell. Mehrong.” He stuck his tongue out and walked off to admire the rest of the special spot

“Hmm!! Shiro! I want to know!” you put your hand on his chain and he quickly grabbed your hand to stop you with his nervous face. You turned your head to look at him, eyes wide

“O…ppa?” you stuttered, feeling his hand around yours. You freaked out and looked down at your shoes

He looked at you, then at your touching hands, then quickly let go.
“Uhh! Sorry…” he took a step back and cleared his throat

You bowed your head and grabbed your school bag

“Um… the gates should be open oppa, kaja.” You turned around with your blushing face and walked off

Minwoo stopped for a moment to take one more look at his chain, then followed you

“Hmm… I wonder if this special place can really make your wishes come true…” he mumbled to himself, then following you

When you were outside the room Minwoo suddenly remembered something

He quickly dashed back inside the room and ran through all the chains again, looking for one in particular

“If this was more than 2 years ago…. It’s possible…” he looked at all of them quickly until he found the one he was searching for. He sighed and read it

“I want to confess to >. Key.” Key’s chain was on the left of Hyemi’s and Minwoo nodded sadly

He walked over to his, on the right of Hyemi’s and read it to himself

“I think… I’m falling in love with you. <. No Minwoo.” He sighed and walked out of the room, catching up with you
