Fed Up
In Love With the Wrong One
Key couldn’t quite understand the situation he was in. There was something really weird next to him- a very quiet and nervous Jonghyun, driving his way to a coffee shop. Usually that smurf was the one who had the unstoppable mouth, for God’s sake! How could and why would he be so silent all the driveway?!
“So then hyung, the director sunbaennim decided to…” Kibum said, trying to continue the small talk he was hoping to keep. He was telling him various rumors about his musical since they got to his car, but all Jonghyun had done was just to nod or show a small smile to him. “Hyung, are you even listening to me?”
“Uhm, I’m sorry… I was just concentrated on the road.” he replied, still looking ahead blankly.
“Yeah, right…” Key sighed, watching him as he parked the car next to the coffee shop he always went.
“Hey, wait!” Jonghyun said right before Kibum got out the car. “Do I look good?”
“What?”
“There’s nothing wrong on me, right? Like something on my teeth or my hair, maybe?”
“No hyung… you look perfectly fine.”
“Okay then,” Jonghyun said, taking a deep breath, “let’s go in!”
Kibum felt this strange urge to watch over his smurf all the way they got in the shop. Sixth sense, maybe?- he didn't know, but that surely helped him understand what’s going on sooner.
He saw how Jonghyun got in all happy and smiling while he opened the door; he also caught how he looked over the stand where the cashier was and how his smile instantly died. Kibum looked over there too, just to see the regular employee, minding his own work. What’s the big deal here?!
“You know what?” Jonghyun said, interrupting his thoughts. “I don’t want a coffee anymore.” Why did he sound so annoyed?
“What the heck, hyung?!” the younger one exclaimed.
“Let’s just go back to the dorm!”
“Oh wait, you’re not giving me that attitude!” Key warned, getting annoyed, too. “I’m not leaving this shop without getting a coffee and you surely don’t leave without me!” he said, walking to the stand. Luckily for him, he didn’t see the beautiful smile that appeared on Jonghyun’s face while he was looking elsewhere, ordering his cappuccino. It would definitely break his poor heart in pieces, if he had seen the reason for his grin, which was… well, a girl. And a really beautiful one, indeed.
What he also didn’t see was the confusion on the smurf’s face, when that pretty girl screamed out his friend’s name.
“Oh my God, Bummie!” she said out loud with her soft voice, making Key turn around and see her. It was Nam Gyuri, one of the little amount of non-famous friends he had.
“Gyuuu!” he sang in answer, getting ready for a hug, while she was approaching him. “What’s up? I missed you!” he cooed when she was finally in his embrace.
“Nothing much, I just finished my shift… And it’s not my fault that you stopped coming over!” she replied, hugging him tighter. “You even started sending other group members to buy coffee from here!”
“Wait, what are you talking about?”
“Well, I’m talking about yesterday, when your bandmate Kim Jonghyun came for a drink here! But Gosh, that guy is clumsy!- he did such a mess when-” Gyuri started, but then she was interrupted by a little shaky voice.
“Uhm… Key-goon, why don’t we just have a seat here?” Jonghyun said, looking obviously exited. “And hello there! We meet again!” he continued, looking at the girl, showing his best charms as charmingly as he could.
God, Kibum thought, bringing the pieces of his puzzle together in his mind. Please tell me I have the wrong feeling about this!...
“So is the cash-box working?” Jonghyun asked the girl, taking a sip of his coffee. They were sitting on one of the tables inside, sipping their ordered drinks and chit-chatting. Well, more like Jonghyun chit-chatting to himself, to be honest.
It was as if they changed their places with Key- now he was the one with the sealed mouth and Jonghyun just couldn’t stop talking, smiling and laughing out loud. Now, Kibum knew what all of this was about. Un
