Gyuri the matchmaker
In Love With the Wrong One
Jonghyun impatiently got out of his car and headed straight to the glass door of “Chocopie”, to see the person he anticipated to meet for three days now. They have been having short conversations on the phone or sending messages to each other (or rather Jonghyun being the one who always called her and send her messages), but obviously nothing other than a talk in person could make him feel at ease anymore.
He looked at his reflection on the glass once more (like he did in the car with the mirror just seconds ago) to check if there’s something off with his appearance, then opened it only to see the one he longed to talk with and smiled widely.
“Gyuuuu, hiii~~~” he literally sang while walking towards her, making the girl jump in surprise and look around if there’s some crazy fan that could be a threat or something.
“Jonghyun-ss-”
“Nuh-uh, what did I tell you about calling me in that way?” he interrupted, now close enough to lean on the bar and distract her with that cocky smirk.
“I never agreed to call you oppa, Jonghyun-sshi.” Gyuri reminded, looking away because damn he was just too close to her.
God, why wasn't there a law about breaking the personal space of somebody?
“Come ooon, I’m five months older than you, that makes me too old for ‘Jonghyun’ and too young for adding a ‘-sshi’! Just call me oppa, would you?”
“No, thank you.” she insisted, trying not to look at that puppy with a face, “I’d like to keep my friendship with Bumie better than being close to you.” Gyu explained, turning her back to him coldly to get a cup for his order. “What can I get for you, dear customer?” she asked with a very polite tone and fake smile.
“A cappuccino, please…” Jonghyun sighed, “And another dose of therapy with you.” he added, not taking his puppy gaze off her.
“You call our meetings like that?!” she scoffed, his choice of words leaving her surprised.
“Hell yeah!” he answered right away, without any need to think before saying anything. “Just for the record, the situation I’m in kills all of my will to flirt with you anyway. I’m not here to court on you or something, I just need someone to talk to… and you’re the best listener I could ever have! So pleaseee, just stop worrying about Key-goon for a while and think about the future celebrity clients I’ll help you gain if you hear me out. Let me be your first unofficial client with psychological problems, won’t you?”
“You don’t have psychological problems, okay?” Gyuri huffed, giving up on the cold attitude because hey, the boy deserved to be heard out and hellooo?- he was Kim goddamned Jonghyun, for all Blingers' sake! "Gosh, just sit somewhere and wait for 5 minutes,” she pouted, looking pretty unhappy with her weak resistance. “My shift ends at-”
“Five o’clock, I know that!” Jonghyun finished her sentence with such anticipation which made Gyu smile genuinely after he turned his back on her to look for a table. “Thank you so much, Gyu~~”

“Okay, you got what you wanted now.” Gyu started, not wasting time with formalities as she sat in front of him. “What’s bothering you so much?” she asked, trying to see through his actions. He looked at her for a brief moment, then changed the direction of his gaze to his hands, which were tangling around his cup of coffee. He sighed a heavy sigh and decided to let it go at once.
“Long story short, Onew hyung is blaming me for coming to see you few days ago and hurting Kibum even more, Taemin and Minho keep looking at me like I’m some sort of traitor and the worst part of it is that Key is still ignoring me. But the funny thing is that he doesn’t sound mad or anything, it seems like he just stopped caring for me. He’s friendly around cameras and fans and he answers my
