“So, how tall are you?” Kim Jonghyun asked all of a sudden, trying to look friendly to his namesake. Just trying, you know, out of politeness. Not that he wanted to be friends with him at this rate.

“How are you, I mean! Gosh I’m so stupid, kekekeke…keke…ke…” He corrected, seeing how Gyuri silently facepalmed herself because of him. “Gyu told me about your long stay in the hospital, so…”

      Key, who kept his silence for a good 20 minutes now, immediately pricked up his ears at the words “hospital stay”. His j.hyun stayed there for long, too, but he checked out just few hours ago… He couldn’t actually leave his home without having a proper rest and go out, right?...

“Oh, I’m much better now, thanks for asking.” Hyun replied, “But I just got out of that prison like, few hours ago; I couldn’t even rest properly at home thanks to my crazy sister who kept insisting for me to come here with her. Otherwise I’d never leave my cozy bed and TV." he laughed, then turned his gaze at Kibum. "I was kinda annoyed by her, but now that I met you guys, I don’t really regret about that.” he continued smiling, looking straight in Kibum’s eyes.

Okay that’s it, Kim Kibum.

You already suffered enough because of your fears.

“Ho- how long did you stay there?” Key finally spoke out, his voice cracking and a bit higher that it should have been.

       Nam Jonghyun’s smile grew even wider, finally getting the proof he waited for so long: Bumie’s voice; the one he always heard through the phone calls, the one who used to laugh at his stories and even nag because “he was gonna get wrinkles earlier thanks to him” sometimes! He took a deep breath, trying to hide his excitement and replied, anticipating to see Bumie’s priceless expression that followed a moment later.

“Twenty five long and lonely days...”

      On the other side, Key felt something that he couldn’t even describe with words. He felt how his whole energy left each part of his body in no time and came back as a powerful rush that made him want to jump off his seat, grab Hyunie by the hand and just storm off somewhere! His eyes, now sparkling with tears of joy showed it all, even through his mouth was wide shut to suppress the sobs he didn’t want to let out.

“Why did you have to stay there that long, hyungnim?” Hyun heard someone asking, but he was too busy to recognize the voice. His attention towards Key wasn’t distracted even a tiny bit.

“Long story short, I was attacked by an animal while shooting a picture for my first exhibition. My hip bones got hurt and I had to go though a rehab process.”

“OPPA! Did you know that Bumie had his own exhibition, too?” Gyuri exclaimed, secretly proud of herself since she found something that could help them get closer. “Bumie why don’t you show your work to oppa?”

“Huh? M-me?” Key choked, looking exactly like a lost kid getting questioned by strangers.

“Who else? I know you keep a few in your room, why don’t you show them to him? I’m sure Hyunie oppa would love it!”

“I’d be glad to see them, actually!” Nam Jonghyun said, slowly getting up and mentally thanking his sister a million times for the opportunity she gave him. “So where’s your room, dude?” he asked, walking to Kibum and happily grabbed his hand to drag him up from his seat. “Come on, don’t be shy!” he giggled, waiting for his lead.

      When they finally left the room, Gyuri started spazzing like the fangirl she was and excitingly clapped with her hands.

“Did you see that, Jonghyun-sshi?” she asked teasingly. “Now I’m sure that it’s gonna work out!”

“Are you crazy?!” Jonghyun snapped. “Didn’t you notice how silent was uri Key-goon the whole time? Don’t you know that keeping silence is the last thing he would do when he meets someone new? Your brother is so scary he terrified him!”
