Airplane
Night Time Jitters
Kris woke up when his head fell off the airplane head rest, yet again. He blinked a couple of times and looked squinty eyed at the others. Chen and Lay were playing a card game while Luhan slept on Xiumin's shoulder, who was watching a K-drama on the little TVs installed in their seats.
He sighed and rolled his head around his shoulder to look at the person beside him. Tao was looking out the window, a small smile on his lips as he watched the changing scenery.
Kris traced the outline of his profile with his eyes, taking in his sharp and misleading features greedily. His hand reached up and brushed back a few strands of his midnight black hair, unintentionally gaining his attention.
Tao looked up and gave him matching eye smiles with his growing grin, "So you finally woke up Ge."
"Where you bored without me?"
"You never left."
Kris gave him a lazy smile and stretched his stiff muscles, "How long was I out?"
"Only a half hour," He nodded slowly, "But I was pretty lonely."
The elder raised an eyebrow, "Cause we didn't talk?"
Tao shrugged, "We haven't been talking a lot lately. I thought I could use this trip to help make up lost time... But I didn't want to wake you."
Kris smiled and slid his hand on top of the latter's, playing with his long fingers as he spoke, "You could have tried, though I doubt I would have."
"Right, it’s impossible to wake the duizhang."
"Not really, there are some tricks to wake me up."
The maknae's eyes brightened up, "Really? Why don't you tell us then?"
"Cause I like my sleep," he chuckled, the maknae pouted and turned towards the window again, "but one person does know."
"Who, the manager?"
He shuddered, "No that would be absolutely awful if he did."
Tao smirked and Kris couldn't help but feel a little , "Cause you're so scared of him?"
"Not like that. I just don't want the first face I see in the morning to be his."
"Why? Our manager is cute."
"You think he's cute?" Kris felt a little bit jealous, but kept a poker face none the less.
"Yeah."
"...Am I cute?"
"What?"
Kris's eyes widened and he turned away, "Nothing."
Tao laughed and flipped their hands, so his was holding the leader's. He started the top of his hand lightly with his thumb and stared at the elder,
"You've definitely got a good face and talent."
"So where does cute fall into that category?" Kris couldn't help but smile at the complement.
Tao smiled back, "You're cute when you smile... I like you best when you're smiling."
Kris was silent for a moment, but couldn't stop his grin from growing bigger, "A reason why I smile is because of you."
"Me?"
He nodded and gave his hand a light squeeze, "Your smile is actually very contagious. It's nice."
Tao's cheek turned a light shade of red and he quickly turned away, pulling his hand back in the process. Kris frowned at the loss of warmth and shifted in his chair, observing the other members now that the atmosphere was awkward.
"Kris Ge," Tao spoke after the pilot gave them a five minute ETA.
"Hm?"
"I'm glad you're our leader. I couldn't have asked for a better one."
Kris smiled and looked over at the maknae; he was staring down, his hands in his lap as he twiddled his thumb. He reached over and ruffled his hair, "And I couldn't have asked for a better Kung fu panda."
