HyeRim’s POV:

My head is spinning like crazy.

I press my hand against my temple and I realize it was bandaged.

I sit up and find myself in some kind of room.

A room all too familiar.

A room that belongs to… “Changsun?” I gasp as I find him beside me.

His eyes flutter open.

“You’re awake,” he says with a smile.

“What happened?” I ask as I sit up on the bed.

“One of Rain’s ninjas hit your temple with a metal rod and I appeared in time to stop you from dying from loss of blood.”

“How come Rain didn’t hunt you down?”

“I have no idea.”

“So, now what do I do?”

“Stay safe,” he says, sitting up.

“What do you mean?”

He looks at me.

“He’s asking his spies to kill you.”

My heart falls into the pit of my stomach.

“What? Including you?” I say softly.

“Yes,” he admits, biting his lip.

“Are you?”

“I can’t do it, HyeRim. I can’t bear to lose you. You’re my everything.” He pulls me into his arms.

I brush his bangs off his eyes. “Me too, Changsun.”

He leans in and presses his lips against my temple.

“Changsun,” I whisper.

“Yes?”

I lean back and kiss him.

“Don’t leave me okay?”

“I promise.” He then kisses me.

“I need to go protect my brother and Myungsoo…”

“Go. They need you. Stay safe. I love you.”

He releases me and I throw my arms around him.

“I love you too. Stay safe, Changsun.”

 

Bang Seohee’s POV:

Che.

Just watch out.

I’m coming for you.

And maybe I’ll be coming for your pretty brother and friend too.

 

Woohyun’s POV:

“Yah, what are you doing here?” Myungsoo asks.

I sit up on the couch in his apartment.

“Looking for HyeRim… But she is with Rain,” I say softly.

“WHAT HAPPENED TO MY BABY SISTER?” he immediately demands.

“I don’t know. Sorry.”

“HAISH. YOU CAN’T EVEN TAKE CARE OF HYERIM?”

“It’s not my fault.”

“WHAT IF SHE DIES? WHAT IF SHE GETS INJURED? WHAT IF—“

“Myungsoo hyung. Calm down.”

“HOW CAN I CALM DOWN IF HYERIM IS IN DANGER?”

“I’m also worried okay?”

“YAH! I’M HAVING A HEADACHE HERE!” another voice shouts.

Both of us turn to look at the source of the voice.

“HYERIM!” Myungsoo then runs over to her and picks her off the ground and spins her around. “I WAS SO WORRIED.”

“PUT ME DOWN.”

So he puts her down.

She’s okay? She escaped from Rain? What about the consequences?

“HyeRim, Myungsoo and Sungjong is going to die,” I blurt.

She stares at me. “What did you say?”

“I-I…”

“What is he saying, HyeRim?”

“Never mind about that, call Sungjong over here now. Woohyun, come here,” she instructs, pointing at me.

She leads me into her room and she slams the door behind her. And the first thing she did is slap me across the face. Then she went over her wardrobe and changes from her dress. (I wasn’t looking okay.)

“What did you just say in front of Myungsoo?”

“That he’s going to die.”

She slaps me again.

“Can you, like, watch your damn mouth?”

“HyeRim, I’m sorry about that day at the Louvre okay. I—“

“I don’t want to hear it. Just, keep your mouth shut.”

“HyeRim, Siwon asked me to k—“

Her glare made me shut up. “To what?”

“To kill Lee Joon.”

“Don’t you dare.”

“I must… But I just can’t, HyeRim. I just can’t.”

Her expression softens. “Why?”

“I can’t bear to see you depressed. I remember when your sister just left…”

“That was a terrible time.”

“You became very depressed. You won’t talk, you won’t eat, eventually you got sick and finally you let it all out. And the cycle repeated for a few ore weeks. I can’t bear to see you like that. That’s why I can’t do it.”

She then unexpectedly hugs me. “Thank you,” she whispers hoarsely.

“I’m sorry okay. I’m really sorry, HyeRim.”

“I can’t forgive you yet.” She pulls herself away from me. “Sorry, Woohyun.” Then, she leaves her room, leaving me alone in it.

 

HyeRim’s POV:

“Sungjong!” I hug my brother.

“Why did you call me here, noona?” he asks.

“I need to keep you safe.”

“From?” A confused look crosses his face.

“It’s better if you don’t know.”

“It’s from Rain right?”

He knows me so well.

“Yeah…”

“Your sister is safe with me here, Sungjong-ah,” Myungsoo says as he puts his arm around my shoulder.

“You’re safe with her,” my brother mutters.

“What did you say?”

“Nothing, hyung.” He smiles innocently.

“Evil dongsaeng.”

“Get your hands off my sister.”

“No. She’s my baby sister.” Then, Myungsoo wraps his strong arms around me protectively.

“Aish, you guys,” I mutter, rolling my eyes.

I have two brothers.

One biological while the other one is… self-proclaimed.

“I’m the one in charge of protecting her okay?”

“HYUNG! No! You got beaten up once and you’re saying you’re going to protect HyeRim?”

“Well yeah! I can’t let my little sister get hurt can I? I’ll never let her get hurt.”

“You didn’t notice the bandage?”

“I did!” Myungsoo pouts. 

“Aish, you guys,” I groan. I pull myself away from Myungsoo. But then, he pulls me into his arms and pecks my cheek.

“AISH, HYUNG!” Sungjong glared at him.

Just then, I hear the most terrifying sound.

And after a ‘bang’, I pull myself away from Myungsoo and I run to my room. I open the door and see the window open, the ground splattered with blood and Woohyun gone.

I start breathing quickly as my eyes dart around the room for clues.

“What’s going on?” Sungjong asks, a note of fear in his tone.

“HyeRim, what’s this?” Myungsoo asks, picking up a piece of paper.

I grab the paper and I scan through it.

Hello again. Since Woohyun was alone, I decided to do something to him rather than to your Myungsoo and your dear brother. Try to find him. I’m pretty sure you will not live after you find him.

Don’t pull another stunt. Or this time, your brother will pay the price.
