Chapter 16
I am Yonghwa's Tutor (NEW FINAL CHAPTER! COMPLETED EDITING)
"Come on, Yonghwa, can't you just tell me what 'shipping' means?" Seohyun asked Yonghwa as she walked after him outside the Academy. Sure enough, three days ago, when the nurse got back from her snack break she freaked out after seeing Yonghwa lying down beside Seohyun on her bed. Although the nurse admitted in 'shipping' them as a couple, she didn't allow Yonghwa to sleep there. Instead, the nurse gave Yonghwa the bed next to Seohyun's and they slept through the whole afternoon.
Yonghwa looked back at Seohyun and grinned. "Nope. You're smart. Find it out on your own, Seohyun."
Seohyun huffed out a frustrated breath and finally caught up with Yonghwa's steps, walking beside him, her hands swaying back and forth. Classes were already done and finals was a week away. That meant the school year would be over a day after exams, since it would be the immediate releasing of the grades and school rankings per level. Yonghwa made it through the year still holding his music scholarship thanks to his girlfriend's patience in tutoring him.
"Where do you want to go, Seohyun?" Yonghwa asked, changing the topic. She wanted to press the topic but though against it anyway. "Hmmm... anywhere with you will be fine with me."
He looked at her with narrowed eyes. "Since when did you become the cheesy one?"
Seohyun giggled and shrugged her shoulders. "Your cheesiness rubbed off on me, I guess."
They laughed and kept on teasing each other until they rode on a bus. As usual, they sat at the back while holding hands. Yonghwa was seated beside the window at the right side and Seohyun smiled at the sceneries they were passing by.
"Oh! That's where Lee Minho filmed City Hunter!" she said with a blush in her cheeks. Yonghwa raised a brow at her. "Why are you blushing?"
Seohyun looked away and stuttered, "I-I am not b-blushing, Yonghwa. Don't jump to conclusions like that!"
"Really?" He chuckled, leaning in closer to her and playfully blew air to her ear. "Then why can't you look at me in the eyes and say you're not blusing?"
"Because I am not, okay?" Seohyun looked at him confidently, but the blush on her cheeks never went away. She was too flustered and full of pride that Yonghwa laughed it off, for now. "Okay, Seo baby. I believe you."
Minutes later, they got off the bus and walked around the park. Yonghwa bought them ice cream and they held hands while strolling along the road. There was a man selling a number of colored balloons so the couple approached him with big smiles on their faces.
"Buy one and get one for free for the pretty couple!" The old man smiled at them. Yonghwa looked at Seohyun and laughed. There was a childish glow on her face that he found it cute so Yonghwa bought a blue balloon for him and chose a pink one for Seohyun. When the old man gave it to her, Seohyun grinned from ear to ear. They thanked the old man and went further along the walkway to the pond. Only a few couples were around and there wasn't any sign of rain.
Yonghwa watched as Seohyun looked at the pond with glee. There was yet another glint in her eyes like the one he noticed earlier with the old man selling balloons. After shortly exploring nature by the pond, they sat on an empty bench under a large tree. Yonghwa placed his arm on the back rest of the bench, around her shoulders and sighed. "I like it here."
"Me, too, Yong." Seohyun smiled at him. "It's not the first time I came here, by the way."
He narrowed his eyes at her. "Really? Who were you with then? Was it your childhood crush? Or was it your grade school teacher?"
"Relax, Yong." Seohyun punched his arm playfully. "I came here with Seop oppa when we were kids."
"Ahhhh, really?" Yonghwa laughed at his foolishness. "Then I had nothing to worry about."
Seohyun chuckled and sighed. "I can still remember us running around the pond in a number of laps. I always beat oppa every time we run here."
"You didn't come here with your parents?"
"Nope. Just the two of us playing around unguarded from the dangers of the big world."
Yonghwa stared at Seohyun and she rolled her eyes, laughing. "Don't be silly, Yong. Of course we went here with our parents! They were at the main park chatting with their old friends in college so Oppa and I ran off until we got here. We met friends and played with them, too."
"Weren't your parents worried?"
Seohyun chuckled. "They went nuts looking for us that they even had park security searching for us."
"It was that bad?" Yonghwa laughed.
"Yes, because we were gone for an hour."
"That's not surprising since time is usually lost when we have a good time." Yonghwa checked his watch. "And speaking of time, Onew hyung will get the whole Seoul police if I don't get you home."
Seohyun pouted. "Awwww, can't we stay a little while longer?"
"As much as I wanted to stay, we can't okay?" Yonghwa shivered. "Hyung will kill me. I'll take you home now, okay?"
"Okay, Oppa."
They got up and walked back to the main park when Yonghwa received a text message. He fished his phone out from his pocket while they were heading to the Bus Stop but when he read the message, Seohyun noticed him stiffen a bit. It wouldn't be noticed by the other people but she did. She noticed his brows furrow and went back to normal but Seohyun knew something was wrong.
"Everything okay, Yong?"
Yonghwa turned his phone off and placed it back into his pocket before smiling down at her. His smile was a little too forced, though, and Seohyun didn't like it. "Who was that? Why do you look so stressed?"
"It's just a text from my dad, saying he wants me to come home now."
"Okay," Seohyun nodded. "I know there's something else, Yonghwa. I've never seen you this stressed out and worried before but I won't pry. I'll let this pass for now until you're ready to tell me what's up."
Yonghwa looked at her and gave her a sudden long hug. "Thank you."
Seohyun sighed and allowed him to make her head rest on his shoulder while the bus was stuck on traffic. She closed her eyes and relaxed to the acoustic guitar melody the bus was playing. Yonghwa turned his head slowly to check on his girl friend and smiled when he saw her face. He took note of her steady breathing before lightly leaning his head on hers and placing a hand over their hands. "Hyun..?"
"Hm..."
"You know, I've been thinking about some... things."
"Like what?" Seohyun yawned.
"Things about after this school year ends."
"Mhmmm.." Seohyun felt herself drift away, her conscience being pulled as her mind entered the land of sleep and dreams. Yonghwa felt her getting heavier on his shoulder and her breathing was even more steady now. He sighed and her arm with sadness transparent in his brown eyes. When he made sure she was already asleep, Yonghwa felt a tear roll down his cheek.
"Seohyun, my family is moving to New York... for good."
Since finals were in 4 days, Seohyun decided to have a final review with Yonghwa in her house. It seemed as if he was too relaxed about his English test because his rate was going steady already but Seohyun decided to give him one last real test before exam day. They were already in Seohyun's room; Mrs. Lee insisted they ride the family car to their house so the kids won't have another bus expense since they were all going to one place.

I opened the door to my room and Yonghwa immediately squatted on the floor beside
