For one life, another
Holding Onto the MemoriesThe frantic beeping sychronized with the panicking light as the doctor rushed into the room.
"What's wrong?"
"He's not breathing," replied the nurse.
"I'll intubate. 7.5."
"BP is falling."
"He's going into VF!"
"Prepare to defibrillate." muttered the doctor as he finished intubating.
"100 Joules."
"Clear!"
Min Soo's body jolted as the electricity coursed through his body.
"Still nothing."
"120 Joules."
"Clear!"
His body jumped once again as the nurses scrambled around him.
The doctor looked at the monitor and watched as the line remained even. "Shut it off." he muttered.
The nurse stared at him in shock as she processed the words that flowed out of his mouth.
"Shut it off. There's nothing more we can do for him."
The droning machine abruptly stopped with a click.
"Time of death, 4:32pm."
All was quiet as the white sheet fell over his heavily bandaged face.
"Doctor Freemont!" called a doctor from down the hall. "You should prep Min Jung for surgery. Her brother just passed not too long ago. We need to get it done before another patient gets it."
