Mini Drama: Half Brothers

Mini Series: Half Brothers: Behind the Bruises

Every day, their brother love-hate relationship grew wilder. Sometimes, they quarrel as soon as they woke up, but sometimes everything seems peaceful between them.

Meanwhile, Jeonghan started schooling as soon as he passed the special exam –he took a special entrance exam Attorney Sung Hoon arranged because Jeonghan wasn’t able to take the nationwide entrance exam.

One night, Jeonghan didn’t show up. Seungcheol was very furious that night. He tried to call Jeonghan; nevertheless, he realized that they did not have each other’s number. He called Sung Hoon instead.

Seungcheol:

Hey, Sung Hoon-ah!

Sung Hoon:

What?

Seungcheol:

Do you know where my maid is?

Sung Hoon:

No. I did not follow him today because you asked me something, remember?

Seungcheol:

Oh. Right.

Sung Hoon:

What? He’s not home, yet?

Seungcheol:

Yeah.

Sung Hoon:

Are you worried now?

(.)

Seungcheol:

Of course not! I miss my dinner.

Damn! I should’ve get his number. Tsk!

Sung Hoon:

He might be there in a while. He’s got a part time, so maybe he extended a little bit.

Seungcheol:

(Groaned)

That’s too much for an extension, huh?

Two hours later and it was almost midnight, Jeonghan wasn’t home yet. He was tired of waiting and called Sung Hoon again.

Sung Hoon:

What?

Seungcheol:

You might probably have his number.

Sung Hoon:

I don’t. You don’t have?

Seungcheol:

Yeah. I forgot to get it.

Sung Hoon:

Unbelievable! He’s not there yet?

Seungcheol:

I shouldn’t be asking you this late if he’s already here, you know.

Sung Hoon:

Okay!

Then tell the police.

Seungcheol:

That what? My maid is lost?

Sung Hoon:

Are you stupid?

He’s your younger brother! Idiot!

Seungcheol:

(Got pissed a little bit.)

Shut up. He’s not!

Sung Hoon:

Are you that worried?

He’s a grown up man. He knows what to do.

Did you fight?

Seungcheol:

Always.

Sung Hoon:

Did you say something to him that may hurt him?

Seungcheol:

I always do.

Sung Hoon:

Like what?

Seungcheol:

That he’s a… he’s an idiot or tsk! Anything that comes from my mouth when he annoyed me.

Sung Hoon:

I told you to give him a chance. Look at what happened! Tsk!

Why do you keep disturbing me with your problem? He’s your responsibility, not mine!

Better get your out of your house and look for him.

Seungcheol:

Why would I?

Sung Hoon:

You’re such an idiot! Buy a brand new brain first! Damn it!

Sungcheol:

You’re pissing me off.

Sung Hoon:

Good for you! Bye!

(He hanged up his phone.)

SeungCheol:

Yah!

Tsk!

Seungcheol went out to find Jeonghan. Unfortunately, he’s nowhere to be found. Since he couldn’t find Jeonghan anywhere, he went to sleep. A very late sleep, which he didn’t usually do. He went to bed with an empty stomach and an annoyed face; moreover, he woke up so late the next morning and that pissed him off. He thought that Jeonghan would be home by the time he woke up, so he prepared his throat to scold him. He looked for him at the kitchen and in his room. Only to find out that he was alone in his house the whole night. No Jeonghan, no breakfast. Seungcheol did not have a very good morning as he went to a restaurant wearing a grumpy face to have his breakfast, but he didn’t finish it because he was not in the mood. When he came to his office, his employees who usually greeted him with a smile every time he enters the office, became afraid with their boss’ fiery gaze. Sung Hoon greeted him as soon as he saw Seungcheol, but he just ignored him.

Sung Hoon:

What’s wrong?

Did you find Jeonghan?

Seungcheol:

I don’t know that brat!

That’s when Sung Hoon realized that the cause of his anger was Jeonghan. He was surprised and at the same time impressed that Jeonghan was able to piss Seungcheol that bad; even though, they’re just living together for almost 2 weeks.

Sung Hoon:

Aren’t you worried about him?

Seungcheol:

Why would I?

The scowling face of the CEO became worst that his brows almost connect with each other.

Sung Hoon:

I’ll look for him.

Seungcheol:

Don’t mind him. I’m done with him!

Sung Hoon:

But this is the first time he did that.

Seungcheol:

Then find him by yourself!

Maybe he got something from me and ran.

Sung Hoon:

Do you think he’d apply for a part time job if he intended to just steal from you?

I think, you still have your wallet with all of your credit cards and money on it.

Seungcheol:

Why do you care so much for him?!

(With a grumpy voice.)

Sung Hoon:

Because you’re acting like that!

It will affect everything!

And besides, he’s a kind person.

(He became worried of Jeonghan as if he’s also his brother.)

The kind Sung Hoon decided to search for Jeonghan instead because he was extremely worried, and somehow to avoid Seungcheol’s anger. So, he went first at Jeonghan’s school and found out that he did not attend his class. Basically, if he did not find him in his school, he’d be in the convenient store. Though, it bothered him that he did go to school when he knew that studying was important to him.

When he dropped by the store where Jeonghan works, he saw not even a single hint of the young man’s shadow. Just then, the ring on the door rang, indicating that someone just entered the store. He looked at that person, and he discovered Jeonghan with bruises on his face and hands; though, he tried to keep it with his uniform. It was also noticeable that he was distressed and lost. On the other hand, Sung Hoon immediately pretended that he was looking for something in the store and went immediately at the counter after Jeonghan settled.

Sung Hoon:

Hey! You had a fight last night? You look terrible.

Is that your boss?

Jeonghan:

Hi. No. I’m Fine

(He smiled faintly.)

Nope. My boss is a monster but he wouldn’t do this to me.

I fell from the stairs last night.

Sung Hoon:

Oh! Are you okay?

Jeonghan:

Yup. No need to worry, sir.

(Displayed an innocent smile.)

Sung Hoon:

Sure?

(He was worried because it was obvious that he had a big fight by the patterns of his bruises.)

Here!

(Gave him something to eat.)

Jeonghan:

Thank you but I can’t accept this. It’s your meal.

Sung Hoon:

I can just get another one.

Eat. You need it.

It’s my treat!

(He winked handsomely.)

Jeonghan:

Thank you, sir.

Sung Hoon never remove his eyes off Jeonghan even if he’s far from him. After his job, he went straight to the hospital. Sung Hoon thought that he’d go for a check-up, but when they went out he was carrying an infant with him. He was embracing him tightly as if he longed for him so much. He followed him until they got home.

-Seungcheol’s House-

Jeonghan was unlocking the door but someone opened it before he touched the last digit of the code. He was surprised that Seungcheol was already inside the house even if it was only 6:00 in the evening.

Jeonghan was wearing long sleeves for him not to see his bruises all over his body.

Seungcheol:

(He was very angry at the moment.)

And why did you come back?

Jeonghan:

I’m sorry, I wasn’t able to return home last night. I’m really sorry.

(Bowed his head down.)

I will not do it again.

Seungcheol:

Sure thing because you’re fired!

Jeonghan:

Please give me another chance.

(Begged him.)

Then, suddenly a small man appeared in the middle of their conversation asking for food.

HanSol:

(I’m hun) gry, Hanhan.

(Pulling Jeonghan’s oversized sweater.)

Seungcheol:

(He was surprised with the boy.)

W-who’s that?

Jeonghan:

(Looked at Hansol and he suddenly stuttered.)

He-he’s my…

(He paused for a while, thinking of something.)

He’s my…son.

Seungcheol:

W-wow!

(Clapped his hands and spoke with a sarcastic tone.)

This brat, really!

I have no place for you two.

Jeonghan:

Please. I will massage you all night if you want. Just let us in.

(He pleaded sincerely.)

HanSol:

(Looked at the angry man and went behind Jeonghan because he’s scared.)

Hanhan…

(With a trembling voice.)

Jeonghan:

(Smiled at Hansol softly while pulling him out from behind his legs.)

Introduce yourself to him. He’s a nice person. He’s my boss.

HanSol:

(Bowed 90 degrees as he greeted Seungcheol warmly and cutely.)

(Hel)lo! (My name is) HanSholie~

(With a loud, energetic, sweet voice with matching bright smile.)

Seungcheol, somehow, melted by Hansol’s charm and let them in first to hear his story. He also noticed that Jeonghan had bruise near his lips.

Seungcheol:

Did you get on a fight?

Jeonghan:

No. I just fell on the stairs.

He went to the kitchen and started cooking their meals.

Seungcheol:

Stairs? At school?

Jeonghan:

Yeah.

It was an obvious lie; nevertheless, Seungcheol was more concerned about something.

Seungcheol:

Is he really your son?

Jeonghan:

(While busy washing the vegetables)

Yes.

Seungcheol:

(He got curious.)

and who the hell is his mother?

(Sway his head from side to side in disbelief.)

You got into a serious trouble, kid.

Jeonghan:

I’m his father and mother.

Seungcheol:

Seriously? Are you a self-producing mammal now?

( with a sarcastic voice.)

Jeonghan:

(He did not take Seungcheol’s question seriously.)

Maybe.

After an hour of waiting, the dinner was ready and Jeonghan set-up the table for them to eat.

Jeonghan:

Sir can we eat here with you?

Seungcheol:

Go on. I don’t want to be a monster in your son’s eyes.

(Chewing his food fast because it was awkward for him to look at them.)

Seungcheol was a little amazed on how Jeonghan care and love for the kid. His face and actions were so gentle, that he knew he’s really a good man. Except that he had a kid at a young age, that’s acceptable because everyone makes mistakes, but at least he was taking responsibility of it. At the same time, he was impressed on how Jeonghan raised his son. Despite his status, he chose to raise him in a proper way. He couldn’t help but to compare his father to Jeonghan that time and stared at Jeonghan and Hansol with a sweet smile. Somewhere in his mind was wishing that he wanted a loving father like Jeonghan; even if, they have no money at all.

After the boy had fallen asleep, Jeonghan knocked on Seungcheol’s door.

Jeonghan:

Sir? Are you still awake?

Seungcheol:

(Buried his face to his pillow to get ready for the massage.)

No. I’m waiting for your massage.

Jeonghan:

(He smiled)

Is my massage really good?

Seungcheol:

Not really.

Jeonghan:

(Started massaging Seungcheol’s back gently and properly.)

Sir, thank you for keeping us in.

Seungcheol:

(He was surprised that his massage became gentler than before, and it felt so good. It made him relax.)

You’re doing the massage far better than those previous ones.

(Ignored what Jeonghan said.)

Jeonghan:

I said, thank you for keeping us.

Seungcheol:

I do not intend to keep you. You have to go after 1 and a half month.

Jeonghan:

I know. Thank you.

Seungcheol:

Don’t thank me. I will reduce your pay because you added a free-loader inside the house.

Jeonghan:

He’s just a kid!

Seungcheol:

Then don’t eat.

Jeonghan:

Still evil, huh?

Seungcheol:

Sure.

(He continued teasing him.)

Jeonghan:

Hansol even said thank you to you.

Seungcheol:

Don’t use your kid.

Jeonghan:

I’m not. He’s a good boy and he knows how to say thank you when somebody did a good thing to him. I taught him that.

(Proud of his baby Hansol)

Seungcheol:

So… how old is he?

Jeonghan:

Hansol? He’s turning 3 next Monday.

Seungcheol:

Great!

So you had him when you are 17 years old?

Jeonghan:

Ummm…Yeah.

Seungcheol:

Okay.

(Then, he suddenly fell asleep because of the exhaustion his anger brought him.)

The next morning, he was visited by the young boy inside his room to wake him up. Jeonghan carried Hansol to Seungcheol’s bed to wake him up for breakfast. Unfortunately, after a long gentle to harsh morning call from Hansolie, Seungcheol wasn’t waking up. Hansol became bored and shouted to Jeonghan, while tapping Cheol’s cheeks lightly.

Hansol:

(Screaming at the top of his cute lungs.)

Han-haan!

Boss-iz-not-up!

Jeonghan went inside Seungcheol’s room to wake him up, only to find out that he had a high fever and he experienced difficulty in breathing.

Jeonghan:

Hey! Boss? Boss!

Do you have asthma or something?

(Cheol nodded)

Seungcheol woke up with a sweaty body; moreover, he was not in a good condition. What Jeonghan did was he searched for the inhaler inside the first aid kit and assisted Cheol immediately. When Seungcheol felt better, Jeonghan laid him back to his bed and put his blanket on. He felt that he was very hot, so he rushed to the kitchen to get a cold water and a towel. Jeonghan stayed by his side, while cooking his boss’ porridge until he finally woke up.

Seungcheol:

Can you give me my phone?

Jeonghan:

Hansol-ah, get the phone on the table and give it to me.

(Pointed the phone on a small table.)

Hansol diligently got the phone to give it to the pale man laying his weak body on his bed, while Jeonghan was serving him porridge.

Jeonghan:

Are you okay now?

Seungcheol:

No.

Jeonghan:

Your asthma is so bad.

Seungcheol:

Yeah. It’s your fault.

(Blamed him because he made him stay late night last time.)

Jeonghan:

Why is it my fault?

(He became pissed while feeding him.)

Seungcheol:

Call Sung H-

(He remembered that his friend told him that they knew each other. To prevent spoiling their investigation, he just thought of any name.)

Attorney Joong Ho, I mean.

Jeonghan reported everything to Attorney. Then, he made a call to Seungcheol’s doctor asking him to go to his house and have him checked.

Seungcheol was advised that he should stay in bed until his fever subsides and drink his medicine on the right time. Hansol was in charge of bringing the water and medicine to him every after meal, while Jeonghan left Cheol’s food for lunch beside them because he’d go somewhere.

Jeonghan:

Sir can I leave Hansol with you? I promise that I will go home immediately. I’m really sorry.

Seungcheol:

Where are you going?

Jeonghan:

I’ll go to the convenient store, sir. I have to tell my boss that I’ll be absent this day.

Seungcheol:

Why not call him?

Jeonghan:

I don’t have any phone.

Seungcheol:

Seriously?

(Tossed his phone.)

Do you know his number?

Jeonghan:

Yeah. It’s in my I.D.

Seungcheol:

Call him.

Don’t tell me, you’ll leave this kid alone with me?

Jeonghan:

But it will just take around 30 minutes.

(Pouted his lips.)

Feeling better now?

Seungcheol:

Not at all.

Hansol:

(Came close to him and caressed Cheol’s head.)

Please get well soon, boss.

(Embraced him tenderly.)

Seungcheol just let the small man cling on him because he felt loved from his sincere embrace.

Seungcheol:

(Had no choice but to smile.)

Thank you, Hansol ah.

(Told him with a sweet, caring voice.)

Jeonghan:

(He was surprised how Seungcheol acted in front of Hansol)

If you’d do that to me every day, I might do everything you asked me to do without any word.

(.)

Seungcheol:

Why would I do this to you?

Jeonghan:

Because…

Hansol:

You’re kind!

(He interrupted.)

Seungcheol:

You’re teaching him well.

(He smiled.)

Jeonghan:

Of course!

(He giggled.)

Seungcheol’s phone rang and he answered it quickly. It was Sung Hoon who was asking if he’d go to the office or not. The sick, grumpy man told Sung Hoon that he was sick at the moment and asked him to sub for him in his appointments for the day.

One moment, Seungcheol wanted to get something from his drawer and he tried to reach it, but he couldn’t because he felt weak that he couldn’t stand or even move his body. Just then, the busy Hansol playing all by himself noticed it and helped the big man with it.

Hansol:

Boss?

Water?

(He was trying to ask his boss of what he needed.)

Seungcheol:

(Tried Hansol’s kind service.)

Hansol-ah, can you get the big phone for me.

(Pointed at the wireless landline on the table.)

Hansol immediately got the phone and gave it to him. Cheol thought that Hansol was very handy and adorable, and a good kid too.

Seungcheol:

Thank you.

Very good, Hansol-ah.

(Patted Hansol’s head.)

Hansol embraced him with no reason and Seungcheol was definitely loving it. For the first time, he felt that he had a family again. He loved Hansol; even though, he just met him the other day. He was proud of how responsible and loving Hansol was; given that, he’s still a kid.

When he got better and he could finally walk, Hansol did not leave him alone. The little man even assisted him towards the kitchen to eat.

Hansol:

HanHan! Eat!

Where’s (the) food?

I’m hungry. Boss too.

Instead of running to Jeonghan, he stayed beside Cheol holding his big hands.

Jeonghan:

Wait. Almost done.

(With a big smile and a sweet tone.)

The three of them ate together at the dining table filled with laughter by Hansol’s entertaining skills. Seungcheol found him so adorable that he felt like he’d miss him when he’s at his office.

Every day Jeonghan brings Hansol at his school, which became a big issue; nevertheless, he just ignored it. The dean had a talk with him, asking if he could just leave the child under his parents care or a day care because the teachers and the other students were distracted of them. Jeonghan, on the other hand, promised that he would look for a day care, but for the meantime, he requested that Hansol would go with him because he had no one to look after the little boy.

One rainy night, Jeonghan and Hansol were about to go home from the convenient store when men stopped in front of them. Jeonghan held Hansol tight and became scared because he knew who they were.

Stranger:

Give Hansol to me!

Jeonghan:

No! I already paid for the month. Why are you getting him from me?

(He embraced Hansol tightly.)

Hansol:

Hanhan, I’m scared.

(Buried his face on Jeonghan’s neck while gripping Jeonghan’s shirt.)

Jeonghan:

(Comforted the young man on his chest.)

Shhh… I’m here. Don’t worry.

(Got back to the big man.)

What is it you want from me Goo Tak-ssi?

Goo Tak:

Didn’t you forget that you have a balance?

Jeonghan:

I promise to pay that after I have my salary this month! Get lost!

Goo Tak:

I need it now.

Jeonghan:

(He became scared because he knew that he had no strength to fight back.)

I-I have no money now.

(His words are trembling.)

Goo Tak:

Then, if that’s the case…

He signaled the other men in black to get the kid forcefully; however, Jeonghan did not allow it. So, both of them were dragged along. Hansol was crying so loud, especially when Goo Tak shouted at him to shut his little mouth.

Jeonghan:

(Kept his embrace tight.)

You’re scaring him!

Hansol:

Hanhan, I don’t want to go with them.

(Sobbing)

Jeonghan:

I will not let them take you from me.

Stop crying, Hansol-ah.

(He wiped the boy’s tears gently.)

Luckily, Sung Hoon was still observing him. He called Seungcheol to inform what he saw because he was alerted by the men who approached them, given that, the boys looked scared and harassed.

Sung Hoon:

Cheol-ah, your brother is in trouble.

Seungcheol:

Let him be.

Sung Hoon:

This is a serious one, I swear!

(His words seemed so urgent.)

Jeonghan and the boy was taken by four big men.

Seungcheol:

Seriously?

Sung Hoon:

Come quickly!

I’ll give you our location right now.

Seungcheol dashed out of his office to follow them because even if he did not admit or even think of it, he started to care about them.

-Slum’s Area-

Jeonghan was delivered to his mother, while Hansol was put into a room where Jeonghan couldn’t see him.

Ha Jin:

Jeonghan! I heard you’ve been living a good life out there. Where is your balance?

Jeonghan:

I told you, I will give it to you by the end of this week.

Ha Jin:

Oh, I’m sorry son, but your mama badly need it now.

Jeonghan:

If you had no drugs with you, it’s not my problem. I need my brother!

Finally, Sung Hoon and Seungcheol meet near the place where they could see and hear them clearly, but enough to hide their presence.

Ha Jin:

He’s my son, darling. You have no rights to him unless you pay me the price I’ve told you.

Jeonghan:

I told you, I’m working on it!

Ha Jin:

If you could just deal with drugs, your problem would be easily solved, darling.

(Provoked him)

Jeonghan:

You ! Give Hansol back to me!

(With a fiery eyes and was about to attack the person in front of him, regardless of their relationship.)

Unfortunately, Goo Tak got a grasp on his small and weak body and held him tight that he almost broke his bones. He was groaning in pain, but nobody seemed to care. People just watched them like it was a normal scene in the streets. Suddenly, another man gripped on Jeonghan’s small face and squeezed it until he screamed louder. Then, he broke into tears after hearing Hansol’s cry behind the walls calling his name.

Hansol:

Hanhan! Hanhan! I’m scared.

Jeonghan:

(With a broken heart, he shouted.)

Hansol-ah, I’m coming. Just wait a little longer.

Goo Tak:

Yah, Jeonghan-ah, why do you care for that kid? You can just run if you wanted. He’s just a half-brother to you anyway.

Jeonghan:

A demon like you will never understand!

Goo Tak:

Well, well…

(Slapped Jeonghan because he was insulted)

Say goodbye to him if we don’t see cash by tomorrow.

We’ll look for someone who’ll adopt him, and who’s willing to pay us more.

Understood?!

Jeonghan:

Please don’t hurt him. He’s just a kid.

The poor Jeonghan had nothing to do but to cry and plead them to extend. Then, a group of male foreigners went near them and asked for a service; however, they do not have an available female es to entertain them that night. Ha Jin offered her son instead.

Ha Jin:

Oh, I’m sorry gentlemen, but we are fully booked today. But if you’re interested, I can offer you something.

(Exposed a flirty smile.)

Something extraordinaire.

(She brought Jeonghan close to them.)

Isn’t he unique? He’s just a new one.

Wanna try him?

The tall and fit blonde man slid his fingers to Jeonghan’s chin and observed him.

Foreigner:

He’s quite, interesting.

He’s pretty.

(He smirked)

How much a night?

Ha Jin:

He’s quite expensive.

Foreigner:

I don’t care. Let me play with him.

(He wore a vicious erted smile.)

Ha Jin:

(Whispered to Jeonghan.)

I’ll give Hansol back to you after this night. Get it? So be good.

(Tapped his head)

Jeonghan:

You witch!

Ha Jin:

(Ignored him)

He’s a hundred bucks.

One-hundred-dollars please.

(She repeated while chewing her gum.)

Foreigner:

Then, let’s get it on, pretty boy.

(Grabbed him and kissed him into his neck.)

Jeonghan avoided the kiss. He was so angry and at the same time scared, but he had no choice. He desperately wanted his little brother back in his arms.

Meanwhile, their deal was over and the foreigner was about to pay when Seungcheol came rescuing his little brother.

Seungcheol:

Interesting! Can I have him tonight?

(Acted arrogantly with a cool vibe, but the truth was he’s boiling inside.)

Ha Jin:

Hi, young man. Are you new here?

Seungcheol:

You can say that.

(He smirked)

Ha Jin:

(She scrutinized the young man from head to toe.)

I’m sorry, he’s taken.

Seungcheol:

I’m willing to pay.

I just got bored with women.

(He grinned)

I want to try something new.

(Came close to Jeonghan, who was surprised upon seeing him.)

I got bored and I want highly unique this night. How about a hundred and fifty dollars?

(Played a cool bidder.)

Anyone higher?

Jeonghan was astounded and relieved at the same time. He felt safe when he saw his not-so-kind but reliable older brother. On the other hand, Ha Jin seemed to remember someone from her past. That man looked exactly like Il Kook, the man who betrayed her. She got pissed by his looks, but since she desperately needed the money, she accepted the deal.

Ha Jin:

Gentleman, you came at the right time!

(She looked at the foreigners who wanted Jeonghan first.)

Sorry boys, looks like someone bid higher than you.

You plan to make it higher?

The foreigners made a bid out of him, but Seungcheol had it closed at 300 dollars. Jeonghan was handed to him. Unfortunately, they won’t give Hansol back to him not until morning came. He helplessly went with his hyungs and got back home for a while.

Jeonghan was terribly worried about Hansol that he couldn’t stop crying while murmuring the boy’s name repeatedly. He was busy of thinking about his baby brother that he did not noticed Sung Hoon, who was driving the car. The two hyungs were also concerned about him, most especially to the little boy that was left behind in the hands of those syndicates.

Meanwhile, Seungcheol sympathized him as he saw him broken at the moment. Besides from his status and family, Hansol, his only strength, was also taken away from him. He never knew that Jeonghan was living such a tough life alone. He felt sorry for all the bad things he did to him, so he came close and held his hands to comfort him; though, he really wanted to wipe his tears or to give him a warm embrace like what Hansol did to him.

-Seungcheol’s House-

Seungcheol:

Rest now and you’ll see Hansol tomorrow again.

Jeonghan:

(Tears kept falling down from his eyes.)

I want Hansol back.

(Sobbing)

I desperately do.

Seungcheol:

Why did you lie about him?

Sung Hoon nudged his elbow to Seungcheol’s side indicating that it was not the proper time to ask him that.

Jeonghan:

(Answered the question honestly)

Because if I say that he’s my brother from another man, you will probably not accept him, so I…

Seungcheol:

Ya, I’m not a demon, especially to a child. If you could have just said this to me earlier, everything would be fine by now

(He stopped scolding him as he saw his angry expression.).

How about your mother, then?

Jeonghan:

I just hate her! Her existence and my existence!

(Frowned his brows in anger.)

Seungcheol:

How much do you pay her every month to be with Hansol?

Jeonghan:

100 dollars.

Seungcheol:

I see. I paid 3 months for you.

Jeonghan:

I’m sorry.

Seungcheol:

You should be thanking me.

Jeonghan:

Thank you. I will pay you no matter what.

Sung Hoon:

Is that the reason why you just eat candy in your lunch? To thrift money to get him?

Jeonghan:

I don’t want you to sympathize on me.

Sung Hoon:

I’m sorry.

Jeonghan:

Thank you for saving me.

Seungcheol:

Are you willing to sleep with those men just to get Hansol back?

(He was frustrated.)

Jeonghan:

If I can. I will.

(Firmly accepted his fate.)

Seungcheol:

(His blood pressure was on its peak)

Ya!

If we weren’t able to get you there, they’ll you!

Sung Hoon, once again, tapped his furious friend to stop giving some bold and angry statements because Jeonghan needed to relax.

Sung Hoon:

Are your bruises okay now? They hit you so hard earlier.

(He changed the topic.)

Seungcheol:

Bruises?

He opened Jeonghan’s clothes and saw the color violet, green, and red all over his body. They ranged with anger the moment they saw Jeonghan’s beaten body.

Seungcheol:

You better go to the hospital.

Jeonghan:

I’m just fine.

Seungcheol:

Then sleep early.

Jeonghan:

I can’t. I’m worried about Hansol.

Seungcheol:

We’ll claim him tomorrow morning.

Jeonghan:

He’s sick earlier. He has a high fever.

(Just a thought of it made Jeonghan tear up again because it shattered his heart into pieces.)

Sung Hoon:

How did you get those bruises all over your body?

Jeonghan:

I tried to get him that night. That night when I was not able to return home.

I paid them what they needed, but when they handed Hansol to me, he was sick. He’s pale and had a high fever. I brought him to the hospital. I learned that it was because of dehydration.

(Began to cry again.)

They did not feed him for a day.

(Bit his lips as he felt the pain into his chest.)

Poor Hansol. He doesn’t deserve any of these.

(His tears continuously rushing down his gentle face.)

My money was not enough, so I got back to their house and sneaked into the room to get the money back, but Goo Tak caught me. Luckily, I got some vase beside me and hit him hard.

Sung Hoon & Seungcheol:

Those bastards!

Sung Hoon:

I should have called the police.

The two men felt anger in their heart.

Jeonghan:

You can’t. I heard that they have some connections inside the police. And once you do it, there’s no way for me and Hansol to be together again. He would be placed in an orphanage or give him to another family.

Seungcheol:

Isn’t a good thing?

Jeonghan:

He’s my only family!

He was struck by those words and became speechless; although, he was a bit hurt because he should have taken good care of them. Nevertheless, they let Jeonghan rest in his room.

Chapter 24: Oh my, why did it have to be a joke, I really believed that Jeonghan had ended up with Mingyu ;;
I feel happy for you that managed to finish the story, because I've been following the plot almost since the very beginning. I hope you enjoyed the process of writing it. Even if this story didn't include any romance, it was full of happy, cute, funny, heartbreaking and nervous moments. It proved that love has many sides, it's not only the romantic one, but also comes as friendship and family bond.
