Face the Consequences
Pretending Not To LoveNo One’s POV:
Joo Eun walked out of the party house looking out for Sooyoon as she was worried about his sudden disappearance and she found him sitting on the sidewalk.
She rushed over to him and questioned him on what he was doing there as she flopped down beside him. He informed her that he had called for a cab and that he was waiting for it.
So she waited for the cab along with him but it didn’t show up for a long time. She doubted whether he really called for it and thought they would hail a taxi and get back home instead of waiting for the cab.
However, he kept convincing her that he had already called for a cab. But as they both waited for it to show up, she was starting to feel cold. Just when she felt the cold was getting too much for her, a jacket was wrapped around her.
She looked around and saw her classmate Ji Woong, with whom she acquainted a little earlier. He was known to be the leader of the gang in her college. However, the guy was more than sweet to her. Nothing like what his reputation was.
“Ji Woong?” she asked while he just smiled.
“It looked like you were feeling cold.” He said, scratching the back of his neck a little hesitatingly while pointing to the jacket he wrapped around her.
“Thank you, Ji Woong.” she smiled which he returned with a shy smile of his own.
All of a sudden, Sooyoon’s hand wrapped around her and pulled her closer to him while he glared up at Ji Woong. Joo Eun was a bit taken aback by Sooyoon’s weird behavior.
“Yah! What are you doing?” she whispered, nudging him with her elbow, trying to set herself free from his hold while Sooyoon completely ignored it as if her effort had no effect on him.
“Kim Sooyoon-sshi?” Ji Woong asked, finally realizing who was with Joo Eun.
Joo Eun looked up at him in shock. She knew that she cannot hide his identity for too long. But she was worried how Ji Woong was going to take it and what if he spread it around the campus.
“Ji Woong-sshi,” she started nervously but he cut her off by chuckling out loud.
“Don’t worry, Lee Joo Eun. I will not tell a soul.” She was surprised to hear it. “Anyway, how do you know Kim Sooyoon-sshi?”
“Um, he’s a close friend of mine.” She said, unsure of whether he really meant about not telling a soul.
“Ah okay,” he nodded his head, deep in thought. “So why are you both waiting here in the cold?”
“We are just waiting for the cab.” She sighed.
“You are? Then let me accompany you until then.” He sat down beside her and waited for the cab.
But after some time, finally Joo Eun and Ji Woong decided to hail a taxi instead while Sooyoon was kind of passed out on Joo Eun’s shoulder. Whatever might be the case, Sooyoon still had his arms around her.
“I will help you with him.” Ji Woong helped Joo Eun to move Sooyoon into the cab.
After Sooyoon, Joo Eun got in but before she closed the door, Ji Woong said, “Move in, I’m coming along.” And before Joo Eun could protest, he gently pushed her inside and got in.
“Uh, what are you doing?” she whispered, looking confused.
“I’m just helping you to get back home safely. Now tell the driver your address before he throws us all out.” He smiled.
She stared at him for a while but the taxi driver interrupted her as he was getting impatient. So she quickly told him the address to her place as she didn’t want to take the chance of exposing Sooyoon’s house to someone she hardly knew.
Sooyoon suddenly opened his eyes and realized that they both weren’t the only one in the taxi. “Why is he coming with us?” he whispered into Joo Eun’s ears which kind of sent shivers down her spine.
“He’s just helping us,” she whispered back.
“But why are you sitting beside him then?” and before she could open and answer, Sooyoon wrapped his hands around her waist and pulled her to him, making her land up on his lap.
“Yah!” she yelled a little and tried to get down from his lap but his hold on her tightened, pulling her closer to him.
Joo Eun’s back was pressed against his chest while his head rested on her shoulder and his hands were still wrapped around her waist. Joo Eun’s face reddened in embarrassment and she avoided looking at anyone until the taxi pulled up in front of her apartment.
“Is this your place?” Ji Woong asked while she just nodded, still looking red.
Ji Woong got down from the taxi. “Sooyoon, we are home. Let get down.” She whispered while he just hummed. “Yah!” she shook him lightly.
He hesitatingly let go of her and they both got down. ”Do you both live here?” Ji Woong asked, looking up at the apartment building.
“Um, yeah.” His eyebrows raised and she realized what he had thought. “Well, not in the same house. Just the same building.” She managed while Ji Woong just nodded his head. “I can take him from here on. Thank you for everything you did today.”
“My pleasure,” Ji Woong smiled at her.
Joo Eun then remembered that she was still wearing Ji Woong’s jacket. So she was trying to remove it and give
