Grocery Shopping
Pretending Not To LoveSooyoon’s POV:
When I woke up the next morning, I found myself on my bed, nicely tucked in my comforter. I slowly sat up, and slightly groaned because of the mild hangover I was having.
I looked around the room and found Joo Eun sleeping there while sitting on the floor and resting her head on the bed. I was about to get down from the bed to find some medicine for my hangover when I found them lying on top of the bedside table along with a bottle of water.
A small smile crept up my lips despite the pounding headache I was having. I gulped down the tablets and I was taken aback when I looked up at the clock.
It was nearly midday. I walked up to my wardrobe and slowly opened them, trying not to disturb her sleep. It’s really a wonder how she managed to sleep through the day. It was so unlike her.
I gathered my clothes and went over to take a shower. When I came back into the room after I was done with it, I didn’t find her in the same place where I had left her a few minutes ago. In fact, she wasn't there in the room at all.
“Joo Eun?” I called out to her as I made my way out of the room while drying my wet hair with the help of a towel.
“I’m here,” a groggy voice called out from the kitchen. “Do you shop at all by any chance?” she asked as I walked into the kitchen. She was looking through the fridge and all the cupboards. “Ugh! How am I supposed to cook now?”
I let out a chuckle while she turned around and glared at me. “Are you laughing? Do you want me to chip off those perfect teeth of yours and hand them over in your hand?”
Though she was fuming, I could only find her cute. “Are you having a hangover too? Should I get you the medicine?” I asked her, smirking.
“Haha! Very funny,” she rolled her eyes before taking out her phone and started doing something. “OMG! My brother has messaged me? Twice?” she suddenly got excited. “He was worried about me?” she jumped in joy, after reading the message.
At times, she’s like a small girl, getting excited for even simple things. When I walked past her to the fridge, she took me in an embrace, surprising me. “I’m supposed to be pissed off at you for going MIA. But, aww, I’m so happy. So I’m letting you off the hook.” She said with her hands still wound around me while my heart slowly started to race.
“We should go shopping,” She said as she let go of me a minute or two later while I let out a small sigh, unconsciously.
“We will see about that later. First go and take a shower. I don’t want others to die. You stink!” I said, scrunching up my nose, playfully.
“Yah!” she yelled at first, but then, “I do?” she became conscious of herself. “Then I’m going to raid your wardrobe and find something to wear after the shower.” She said and walked back into my room, not even waiting for my reply.
“Would it even fit you?” I shouted as I heard her rummage through my wardrobe but never received any reply.
I flopped down on the couch with a bowl of cold cereals and started watching TV. A few minutes later, “So shall we go?” I heard her ask as she came back into the living room.
“Like that?” I asked her, as I eyed her from head-to-toe.
“Yeah, why?” she looked down at herself and then looked up at me.
“Looks like you are wearing nothing but my shirt,” I said as I got up and walked up to the sink with the now empty bowl.
I could feel my face slowly getting heated up. She really looked like she was just wearing my shirt, though she was actually wearing her shorts underneath it. Wonder whether the shorts were too short or it was my shirt’s fault, being too big for her.
“In your dreams,” she put out her tongue, childishly, “By the way, are you blind?” she raised her eyebrows, “I’m wearing a shorts. Can’t you see?” she asked as she walked past me and put on her sneakers.
I let out a sigh as I saw that my shirt was a bit loose for her which made it fall off of one of her shoulders. “Aish! Don’t just keep standing there. Come and wear your shoes!” she ordered as she came and dragged me towards the shoe rack.
I put on my shoes and we went on our way to the grocery store while on the entire way, she kept complaining nonstop on how it was my fault that she had to miss her class that day.
When we reached there, she made me push the trolley while she picked up the items in her checklist. As we walked past a lady who was giving free samples of some food, she said, “Aigoo! What a cute couple you two make! Come and taste this, I will give you both a few extras.” She ushered us towards her table.
I was about to deny her statement when Joo Eun silenced me because of which we ended up getting a few more extras like the saleslady had promised.
“Why would you do that?” I asked, once we both were in a safe distance away from that lady.
“What? I didn’t do anything. She just assumed it on her own and I just let her do so. We have no
