Pretending Not To LoveJoo Eun’s POV:
After getting the letter from Moon, Jiwoong and I decided to head out instead of meeting the Professor once again. “Where are you going now?” he asked me.
“I’m thinking of going over to Sooyoon’s place. He’s sick.”
“Okay, see you tomorrow then.” He waved and left on his way while I went on my own.
“Hey, what are you doing here?” Sooyoon asked as soon as he opened his door. He looked quite tired, yet his smile didn’t fail to make my day.
“Oh, I’m sorry. I came to see your neighbor but knocked on your door by accident.” I rolled my eyes while he chuckled, “Of course, I came to see you. Duh! Now move away from the door so I can get in.” he continued to chuckle and shook his head before moving aside and letting me in. “So how are you feeling now?”
“Just a little tired. But otherwise I’m good. And you know what I meant. Why are you here when you are supposed to be in class?”
“I ditched the class,” he crossed his arms and raised his eyebrows, as if he was asking me to sell him the lie, if I could. I let out a sigh, “Fine, you win. I got kicked out.”
“What did you do?”
“Nothing.” I simply replied.
“Really?” he asked as he twisted my ears, but not hard enough to cause me any pain.
“Ouch, my ears!” I still acted like it hurt me and he quickly let go while I stuck out my tongue at him. “I really did nothing during the lecture. Nothing at all. I kind of zoned out for a while and apparently that has ended up distracting the Prof. which in turn disturbed his flow of teaching and he lost his . So he threw me out of the class.”
He let out a soft chuckle, hearing my dramatic description, “Who is that Professor?”
“Professor Yoo. He’s crazy like that at times. He must have had some fight with his wife in the morning. Anyway, what were you doing?”
“Working on some music.”
“Oh, then carry on with it. Don’t mind me. I will just be lurking around.”
“Okay, see you in a while then.” He patted my head and made his way towards his studio.
“What’s with all these people patting my head?” I mumbled softly as I made my way to the kitchen.
I grabbed some things to eat, then the novel I have kept in his place and made my way to the balcony. He had a pretty couch that looked so welcoming in this pleasant early spring weather.
I was worried that Sooyoon was going to give me a lecture about having eatables here but I didn’t bring anything that would stain his couch. So I made myself comfortable and started reading the book while listening to some music.
Sooyoon’s POV:
I got sick after what had happened over the weekend. Though I had gotten better with medicines, I was still tired. So I took the day off. However, I had forgotten to inform Joo Eun about it, the previous night and overslept in the morning.
When I woke up later, I say a few missed calls from her and so, I sent her a text as she would already be in class by then. But what I didn’t expect was to see here at my doorstep, hardly an hour later.
At first, I was worried that she has ditched her class as I was sick. She’s like a mother-hen, so she wouldn’t think twice to care of the people she care about when they are sick.
However, when she finished explaining the actual reasons, I couldn’t help but laugh. The girl has many times gotten herself into trouble either by herself or by that buddy of hers who always sticks by her side.
Then I was asked to carry on with my work while she would just chill. As I sat in the studio and got into working, I lost track of time. Hours later, when I came out, the entire house was silent.
“Joo Eun?” I called out but got nothing in response.
I looked around the house and didn’t find her anywhere. Then, by chance I noticed the slightly opened balcony door and made my way there. She was sleeping on the couch with an open book on her chest and the earphones plugged in.
I slowly removed the earphones first, then closed the book with a bookmark on the page she was reading, before taking a blanket from the drawer of the small table and covered her with it.
She look pretty disturbed when she showed up at my doorstep earlier. So it was nice to see her sleep so peacefully. I quietly lay down beside her and snapped a few pictures of us, before I continued to stay in that position while listening to some music of my own.
Joo Eun’s POV:
I woke up and realized that I had fallen asleep in the balcony couch. But I was not alone now. My head was resting on Sooyoon’s shoulder and half of my body was resting against his, wit
