Big-Hearted Person
Pretending Not To LoveHello my lovely readers. I'm sorry for the extreme delay. So as a present, I've made this chapter a little longer than usual. Hope you enjoy reading them XD
No One's POV:
Now that Mijin was back in Korea, Joo Eun had too much fun, spending more time with her only close female friend. However, Jiwoong was a little unhappy since he thought he was losing the time he could have happily spent with his girlfriend alone.
On the other hand, Mijin was taken off-guard when she was delivered the news of Joo Eun and Jiwoong dating. She didn’t oppose their relationship in any way, but she didn’t look that happy either. However, Joo Eun didn’t think too much about it.
Days passed by, and the three of them had lots of fun, partying and so. Jiwoong could now see some changes in Joo Eun, where she tries hard to act like his real girlfriend and also he could see her struggle against her inner self to actually reciprocate his feelings.
Though he didn’t understand the reasons for the sudden changes, he didn’t bother to question it either. He was actually starting to enjoy the new her and so he didn’t want to jinx it.
Just when he was starting to feel over the moon, he was hit with a series of disturbing news on Joo Eun. Initially, he was annoyed with this scoop as he trusted her more than this anonymous person and so totally ignored them. He, in fact, even tried to trace out the source.
However, all his attempts only turned out futile which was starting to irk him more with the every new scoop he was delivered with. But eventually, he received a bunch of photos which acted as solid proofs for all those incredulous scoops he has received until then.
The next few days, he distanced himself from Joo Eun in order to give him some time to think this over and also to figure out if those photos were doctored in any way. He was heavily disappointed when they turned out to be legit.
He generally had good control of his temper when it came to her but this time he seriously lost it. He avoided her on campus, afraid of hurting her. But the more distance he created between them, the more the gossip people did around them, especially about her.
On the other hand, Joo Eun was genuinely concerned of his sudden odd behavior. Because no matter what happened, by the end of the day he was always on good terms with her. Even Mijin tried finding out what was wrong, only to end up with no response from him.
When things were getting out of hand, he finally decided to confront her on the topic. One day in the campus, he grabbed hold of her wrist and roughly dragged her away, not minding the crowd or any of the staffs.
He took her into one of the arts room and locked the door behind them. “Jiwoong-ah, is everything alright?” she asked him, puzzled at his actions.
He ignored her questions and simply towered over her, making her slowly retreat until her back hit the hard wall. She was never once scared of Jiwoong and now wasn’t the case either. She trusted him. It’s just that there was something different about him then.
“Joo, I believe I’m your boyfriend, am I not?” he asked her.
“Yes, you are.”
She was now caged in between the wall and his arms on either side. She glanced at one of his hands which was holding a packet of some sort but she couldn’t take a glance on the inside.
He took a deep breath, “Were you always loyal to me since we went official?”
She cackled, “If you meant if I was fooling around with Sooyoon behind your back, then I’m sorry to disappoint you. But that never happened. What’s going on?”
“So you were loyal?” she looked at him in disbelief. “Tell me, Joo. Were YOU?” he raised his voice at the end, scaring her for the first time. Her body let out a shiver and she slightly crouched in fear. The sight quickly lowered his temper and he sighed, “I’m sorry.”
“Jiwoong, what’s all this about? See, I accept that my feelings weren’t even half of what you have for me. That was because my heart was elsewhere and despite that, I did my best to like you. You knew that, didn’t you?”
“Besides your feeling for Sooyoon, did you only like me?” she nodded. “Really?” she nodded once again. “Not even Moon?” she shook her head while he gave her a doubtful look.
“Moon is just a good friend.” He still had that look, and she let out a sigh, “Moon is my brother’s friend. So he’s just a friend to me too. Nothing more.”
“Fine. Then no one else?” he raised his eyebrows while she shook her head. “Then what are these?” he asked, throwing the package he held on his hand down which ended up with some photos scattered on the floor.
Joo Eun took a glance at them and her eyes widened. “Um, those are-, they are-” she just didn’t know how to get herself out of this situation. “It’s not like what you think, Ji.” She looked at pleadingly, hoping he’d drop the subject then and there.
“Really?” he lessened the gap between them and stared intently at her, their faces mere inches away. “So you only like me?”
“You know where my heart still lies, Ji. But you should also know how hard I’m trying to let you waver my heart.” Her eyes shone with sincerity which earned a smirk from him.
“So you wouldn’t mind if I kissed you, right?” he leaned in and captured her lips.
Taken aback by the sudden attack, she just remained motionless at first while one of her arms rested against his chest, limply. However, there was something in the way he kissed her this time that her body started responding to the kiss, subconsciously.
He kissed her more intently, his hands gently running along her sides before settling down at her waist. As the kiss turned more passionate, his fingers yearned to discover more of her smooth skin which remained off-limit for him till now.
A few moments would have passed and he was now latched onto her neck like a vampire, way too excited at finally receive this kind of reaction from the girl he was so in love with, to realize the room’s door flinging open and an angry figure walking in.
A second later, Jiwoong was harshly pulled back and before he could realize the situation, a fist was swung at him, sending him to the floor while Joo Eun was in some sort of daze, as if she was intoxicated.
Jiwoong angrily stood up on his feet and aimed his fist at his attacker but before he could swing it, a loud ‘Jiwoong, don’t!’ echoed throughout the room. So he stopped his fist before the impact and stared at Joo Eun in surprise. “Please don’t!” she pleaded him, shaking her head.
Taking the momentary distraction as a chance, the angry attacker swung his fist at Jiwoong again, sending him once again to the floor but this time with busted lips.
“James!” she gasped, b
