Pretending Not To LoveNo One’s POV:
Sooyoon recovered quickly in a few days’ time while Joo Eun was too much into looking after him that she even missed her part time job a few times, ending up losing her pay.
“You missed your work once again?” Jiwoong asked as he flopped down beside her while she nodded her head. “You’re going to be fired soon.” He chuckled. “Anyway, it’s not like you’re working to financially support yourself. So it shouldn't matter much, right?”
“Are you visiting your father?” she asked, looking surprised.
“Nah, I’m not,” he shook his head.
“Then why are you taking this bus?”
“I’m just accompanying you,” he flashed her his milky whites, “hoping that at least by doing this you would someday invite me to your place.” He looked at her innocently.
“Um, that,” She started to get flustered and avoided looking at him.
He held back his chuckle as he pinched her cheeks, “I was just kidding. Chill!”
Though he kind of meant it, he still didn’t want her to feel uncomfortable about it and since he always loved teasing her, it was easier for him to get out of any situation.
Days passed by, and nothing really changed between Sooyoon and Joo Eun even after he kissed her. He acted like nothing of that sort happened between them which made Joo Eun think that maybe he just made a mistake that day as he wasn’t in his right mind then.
One fine day, Joo Eun was in this park, adjacent to the woods where she frequently comes over to have some peaceful time of her own. It’s not a park known to that many people which made it the perfect spot for her.
She hasn’t brought any of her friends over since the time she found the park but that was only until she befriended Sooyoon. She has brought him over once when he was going through a bad day and since then, the two visited the park either alone or together.
“When am I going to finish these assignments?” Joo Eun let out a sigh as she sat down on picnic table and spread out some books.
She carried on with her assignment, occasionally letting out a sigh when she got stuck at some part of it. A few hours later, she dropped her pen on the book before letting out a yawn. She rested her head in her palm and sighed for the umpteenth time.
Suddenly someone wrapped their arms around her from the back, making her bones nearly jump out of her skin. She almost hit him square in the face but he was quick enough to dodge her attack.
“Whoa! You almost killed me there.” He fanned himself as he feigned he was in a trauma before flopping down beside her.
“Not my fault! You deserved it!” she stuck out her tongue while he chuckled.
“Food! Food! I need food! I’m hungry!!!” he declared all of a sudden, putting his hands out towards her.
“I didn’t get you any food,” she replied nonchalantly and started turning the pages of some book.
“What? But why?”
She looked at her watch once and then continued to turn the pages as she replied, “Look at the time! You just came here. So shouldn’t you have eaten something before you did?”
He snatched the book from her hand and slightly pouted, “But I’m hungry.”
“Not my problem,” she smirked before snatching the book back.
“Where’s the food? It must be here somewhere.” He looked around and found the bag with the food. “Here it is! Now you can carry on ignoring me. I’m busy too.” He said taking out the boxes and placing them on the table.
“Those are not for you,” she tried snatching the boxes but he swatted her hand away.
“I don’t care. And don’t disturb me. I’m busy too.” He took a bite and made a face, “Who cooked this? Such terrible skills. Is this food even edible?”
Though he said all that, he was still stuffing his mouth with them. “Why are you still eating them if it’s so terrible?” she asked trying to snatch the lunch boxes away. “Stop acting like you are tasting my cooking for the first time.”
“Well, this made me wonder whether it was really you who did the cooking all those times. Are you sure it isn’t your brother who cooked for you all this while?” he asked with a teasing grin.
“Yah Kim Sooyoon!” she glared at him while he just chuckled.
“Aren’t you going to eat? Later don’t blame me if nothing is left.” He smirked at her before stuffing his face, happily.
However, when she picked up a pair of chopsticks and tried to eat them, he didn’t let her do it. “If you are not giving me the box then how am I supposed to eat?” she asked, giving him an astonished look.
“I’m not giving you the box when there’s no guarantee that you would give it back to me.” He shook his head.
She rolled her eyes, “You are ac
