TYPOS AHEEEEEAD!

Jennie pressed her lips into a thin line while looking at Hyuna. She somehow managed to bring her to school after having a day skipped with her. She was now sitting beside her as visitor. She actually bribed some students to keep their mouth shut and borrowed Hyuna’s second uniform in her closet to keep track of her. 

Hyuna was laying on her desk during lunch and almost every subject when the teacher looked away. Jennie glanced at her before patting her elbow softly. Hyuna smiled slightly. Although Jennie was Hyuna‘s best friend, there was a bond between her and Joongki she could never reach. She still loved her nonetheless but it was just different for Joongki. Jennie understood that too after some time. It was love.

„Pff, you flirting Seonsaeng-nim?“ Jennie asked aloud. Joongki startled upon hearing the voice before turning to her with a shocked gaze. Followed by a other female teacher. She squinted an eye at Jennie, who merely shrugged. She couldn‘t actually get into trouble, she wasn’t even a student here. „What great role models you are.“ Jennie added. „How dare you speak to your teachers like that? What’s your name and class?“ The woman asked.

Jennie raised a brow at the lady before stepping forward. „Well, what‘s your name and age, lady? I only give replies, when I get answers as well.“ She challenged her. Joongki face-palmed mentally before stepping forward. He hid Jennie behind her. „I‘m sorry, let me handle this.“ The woman softened at Joongki‘s expression before nodding and huffing away. „Is there anyone who is actually immune against your puppy look? Oh right, me oh and yeah... my best-friend, mothereeeer!“ Jennie exclaimed before kicking Joongki‘s leg. He yelped and stumbled forward. „JENNIE!“

„What are you even doing here?!“ He scowled at her.

„Visiting my heart broken friend, .“ She glared at him. „That I knew. But what are you doing here at school?!“ Joongki asked before walking over to a nearby bench in the hall. Jennie wore pointed Oxford shoes, which looked great but hurted badly since she hit his muscle. „Keeping track of her, .“

„Do you need to call me that in every sentence?“

„Yes, .“ Jennie replied before sighing. „What’s up with you? Aren’t you normally the first to run, when someone upsets her? So, why are you making her cry?“

„I don’t know if you’ve noticed but Hyuna and I are too different.“

Jennie raised a brow at him after crossing her arms. „What ya mean?“

„We have an , Jen.“ He said before standing up. „Hey, I‘m not done yet.“ Jennie fumed, when she noticed him walking away. „We‘re at my workplace, I can‘t talk about that kind of topic especially here.“

„I‘m gonna make a scene if you don‘t stop right now.“ Jennie warned him. Joongki raised a brow at her. „Are you threatening me?“

„I sure am. Don’t underestimate me, Joongki. I am the reason why Hyun and I always got into trouble.“

Joongki sighed before taking his seat. Both Jennie and Sungkyung sat opposite of him down in a café away from school and actually places Hyuna would go to. Jennie checked the time on her phone before staring Joongki down again. „I have an hour before I have to get her from her school activity.“ „You made me come.“ Sungkyung nipped on her cup of tea before setting it down. „And since when did you and Sungkyung team-up?“

Jennie and Sungkyung looked at each other before turning to Joongki. „We share the same thoughts.“ Sungkyung said. „Yeah, you are a jerk for breaking her heart like that.“ Jennie said dryly. Joongki was somehow regretting having Sungkyung over at Hyuna‘s birthday party back then. Jennie and Sungkyung were too similar especially with their crazy attachment to Hyuna. „One hour huh?“ Sungkyung muttered before slaming her fist onto the table. „Let‘s talk clear then.“

„I sure am not accepting the as excuse.“ Sungkyung said.

„Yeah, I already knew that.“ Joongki said. It was crazy to think that those two would accept his reasonings. 

„Good.“ Sungkyung said.

„Girls, look. I know you care for her but this is between Hyuna and me and I know this makes you girls mad because you think you have a say in this but you guys really do not.“ Joongki said.

„I’m too old for her and she is too young for me.“ He continued while the girls continued to have solemn looks on. They weren’t buying any of his reasonings and they wouldn’t let him go home either. 

He sighed before raising his hand. „An double espresso.“

„Make it two.“ Sungkyung said as she leaned forward. Her chin was resting on both her crossed hands with her elbows prompt up. She was smiling at Joongki. Jennie had another version of intimidating and leaned back into her seat as she stared at Joongki.

„Game on.“ Jennie said.

Sungkyung was picking on her nails while listening to the non-sense Joongki was splurting. She made it a point to not accept anything other than her point of view. It was actually crazy. To think that Sungkyung used to have a crush on Joongki and was now making it her life mission to turn those into a couple. She couldn’t accept a no. She just can’t. Maybe because she wanted to close this chapter with Joongki finally finding his missing piece. 

Jennie on the other hand didn’t look as fine as she did before. Her hair were in a mess as she continued to the endless self-talk of Joongki. He knew how to mess with the teenager. He didn’t give her time to in. 

„I don’t give a ing damn about your crazy ing reasons! Because they are ing invalid!“

Sungkyung glanced at Jennie. It was impressive how so much anger could bottle up in such a tiny person actually. Jennie was really not having it.

Joongki sighed as he leaned back for the 9th time. „She won’t wait forever for you, Joongki.“ Sungkyung said.

„And she will ing turn 18 this year. Can’t you ing get it?!“

Sungkyung nodded to Jennie’s outburst. „She is right.“

„I lost counts of how often she said „“ already.“ Joongki commented. 

„Stay focused.“ Sungkyung retorted. „Guys, we won’t see eye to eye with one another. There is nothing that can change my mind.“ Joongki said with an irritated smile accompanying this.

„As much as I love Hyuna.. I am doing this for her and you guys are definitely not making it easy. I know what that means. I know that she won’t wait. That her feelings can change, that she will find someone else. Maybe someone better?“

„Definitely.“ Jennie grunted.

„And it will hurt. It will hurt greatly but .. that’s what I want her to see. I want her to live her life to the fullest. I don’t want to hold her back.“

„Even if it’s Ah-In?“ Sungkyung said. 

Jennie raised an brow at that. Joongki stilled while holding eye contact with Sungkyung. „Are you gonna be fine with Ah-In?“

„You know he started out to annoy you but you, me and everyone else besides Hyuna probably can see that he is serious. The very same Ah-In, who I wouldn’t have believed would start to like someone at the beginning of this year. He won’t wait for you to make up your mind and he sure won’t let her go once he realises that he doesn’t want her to.“ 

„Love isn’t only selfless, Joongki. Love is selfish. You don’t wait for what you want.“ 

Jennie glanced then at Sungkyung and she was somehow glad that she asked to meet up with the University student. She couldn’t have put it into better words. But then again was everything she saying right? Ah-In had the hots for Hyuna?

„Are you gonna let that happen? I’m pretty sure Ah-In wouldn’t use age as excuse.“

„If he is..“

„You know what I think? You are just afraid of what might happen.“ Sungkyung said as she continued watching his expression change. „Because if it was really because of the age you wouldn’t have considered saying what you were about to say.“

„You are just a coward, Joongki.“ Jennie said after a while as Joongki kept staring at Sungkyung. Both University students startled and looked at her. „If we had this conversation at the beginning of the year I wouldn’t have believed it either. You know after Hyuna and Joonyoung broke up I could see why they didn’t work out. I could understand as soon as I realised what bond you guys had. I mistook it for sibling-love but that’s not it. And if I’m saying it then that is a big deal. I am a brat that I know but… for me to see that… that’s just huge.“

„I just think… that if you do this you might make the biggest mistake ever.“

„And why is the little one sulking over there.“ He leaned lightly against the brick wall while she glanced at him. „Don’t call me that and don’t you have anything better to do than to come to my school.“ Hyuna muttered against her fingers. Her activities ended a bit earlier thus making her wait in front of the school for Jennie, who was supposed to pick her up.

Hyuna was in such a bad mood that she didn’t even notice that Ah-In dressed differently today. He wasn’t wearing his usual attire of a bad boy look with his all-black outfit but rather a still fashion oriented but nicer look. His style would remind someone strongly of the one Joongki had. 

He took a seat beside her while she grunted when she noticed him sitting down beside her. „What is it.“ She said. It wasn’t really a
