All of us arrived at the meeting room, where Superintendent Oh and Superintendent Min had waited for us. I had told Jimin and Joohyun to go home, since they didn't need to involve themselves much deeper into this dangerous organization, although they'd insisted they'd had wanted to come. I'd had to tell them that I would explain everything they wanted to know later. They seemed to be unable to resist their curiosity.

Jungkook, Seokjin, and Superintendent Min excused themselves out of the room right after we arrived, probably discussing something about Soojung. I thought I heard them muttering about her on their way out.

Judging from our superintendent's facial expression, I guessed that we would be done with our mission soon. I couldn't help but feel happy about our success, but there's a tinge of sadness in my heart, knowing that Taehyung and I would have to leave the school we had come to love.

"Oh, you're here?" Superintendent Oh asked when we took our respective seats.

"Why didn't you tell me that you've planned everything? I was actually thinking I'm going to die," I protested, reminiscing about the time when we'd been locked up in an abandoned factory. Superintendent Oh apparently had known that every single thing that had happened to us would happen. He had predicted every single move they'd made.

Superintendent Oh only chuckled. "I'm offended. I thought you believed in me."

"Well, it would've been nicer if you'd given a heads up."

Baekhyun asked, "Is there anything else you've been hiding from us?"

"Not me." Superintendent Oh jerked his head towards Kyungsoo. "I'm sure he has something to tell you."

"You still have secrets? Oh gosh!" Taehyung shook his head in disbelief.

Kyungsoo cleared his throat. "I'm sure you've known about me. I'm a son of the victims, too. My parents was killed by 'Shadow' ten years ago."

Taehyung and I widened our eyes in unison. "It's you!"

"I've found a clue that the other two victims lived in another province and they had a child. I couldn't believe that it's you," Taehyung said. I remembered that time Taehyung had told me the result of his secret investigation.

"I told you I'm from Gyeonggi Province." Kyungsoo chuckled.

"That didn't tell anything!"

Superintendent Oh joined the conversation. "Aren't anyone of you curious for the reason why I picked him for the job? I thought you guys were quick to catch on."

"Apparently, these two police detectives still have a long way to go," Baekhyun chimed in, grinning widely.

"Of course, if you weren't the heir of Byun Group, I would've recruited you as the member of the force. These two clearly need some help from you."

"Hey!" Taehyung and I argued as we were being mocked at.

Ruining the mood, CEO Byun suddenly stepped into the meeting room and the laughter that had filled in the air before dispersed in an instant. The CEO didn't care about the stares he'd got from the others as his gaze was fixed on his only son. "We need to talk," was all he said.

"I don't want to talk to you," Baekhyun spat. It's quite normal, considering he'd just gone through hell - almost got killed - because of something bad his father had done in the past, according to the boss. Even if, no one knew whether the leader of 'Shadow' was lying or not. But, it seemed Baekhyun believed the boss more than he believed his own father.

"It's about your mother."

That got Baekhyun's full attention as he tensed when his father mentioned his mother. His father exited the room and gestured Baekhyun to follow him, which he did as he'd asked. The room fell silent for a moment after they'd left until my curiosity couldn't be resisted.

"What about his mother?" I asked.

Superintendent Oh hesitated before he answered, "His mother is the seventh victim, but the CEO asked us to keep it a secret, so that Baekhyun wouldn't be bothered about it. He thought it's better to make him believe that his mother left the family because of him being too busy to care for her. But, actually that's not the reason at all."

"It's a good idea. Look how Hyerin and I are shaken up from time to time because of the nightmares," Taehyung added.

"I think it's unfair that Baekhyun is being kept in the dark about what happened with his mother. He has the right to know about her," I said, imagining if I were in his situation, I would've been frustrated. Who wouldn't want to know about their parents?

"And how about 'Shadow'? Have you found out what they're exactly doing? Or do they have anything to do with CEO Byun? Or our parents?" Taehyung bombarded Superintendent Oh with many questions, which I would've asked too if he hadn't.

Superintendent Oh sighed. "I don't know if CEO Byun is okay with you both knowing his background story. But, since you're part of the mission. I guess I should tell you."
