Getting out of the helicopter, Jungkook and I ran towards the abandoned factory, together with the reinforcement who had been waiting for us by the river bank. We paced quietly as we approached the building. Before stepping in, we paused by the entrance, making sure it was safe to go inside. At first, it's strangely soundless, making me worried that the fight had ended moments ago, that we're late for the rescue mission. A sound of gunfire seconds after suggesting that the war was still going on. I gestured our rescue squad to start the ambush and secure our way in.

The police officers from homicide and kidnapping division stormed inside, holding their guns tightly, pointing them at the front. The sight before me was quite messy and it's hard for me to grasp everything in one glance. There were many people in black outfit lying down on the ground, some of them were completely unconscious and some other were writhing in pain. In the middle of the circle, stood our friends - Detective Do, Seokjin, and Baekhyun. The gunshot earlier was from Detective Do, judging from his grip on his gun. Seokjin must have lost his gun in the fight since he was using his bare fists which were covered in blood. My boyfriend, Baekhyun, was clutching a wooden stick like a professional kendo fighter. The three of them looked ragged, panting and struggling to stand straight.

A few black suited people who were still standing on their feet scattered away, trying to run away from the police. Fortunately, our squad managed to seize them all before they escaped. The battle was deemed over when our people got hold of the men in black. I sighed in relief that we arrived on time. Jungkook was screaming orders right beside me. I believed he was capable enough to organize the troops, so I made my way to the center of the mess.

"Baekhyun!" I screamed at the top of my lungs, hoping my voice would reach him.

The one I searched for spotted me running over towards him. He loosened his grip on the stick, making it leaving his hands and sliding down to the ground with a loud thud. He closed the gap between us, limping as his legs started to fail him. Looking at his face in a short distance, I noticed his dried blood on his lips and a few more fresh wounds across his cheeks. His legs worried me the most when my eyes landed on his bleeding shin.

"Hyerin, you're back," he said delightfully, not even hiding the fact he's overly happy to see me. He sounded weak even if there's a hint of relief in his voice. His face went from hopeless to hopeful in a second.

Our bodies collided and I wrapped my arms around his back, taking him by surprise. "Sorry," I muttered, holding back my tears. I couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt when I saw his injuries.

"Sorry for what?" Baekhyun asked, hugging me back, his hand was my hair affectionately. Just then I realized his hands were still bleeding from the cut he'd got when he'd disarmed the bomb. His fighting with a wooden stick had made it even worse.

"For leaving you behind." We parted as I let him go first.

"What?" He chuckled. "You don't need to apologize."

"What happened to your leg?" I asked, taking a quick glance on his wound again, trying to figure out whether it's serious or not. I couldn't guess since he was quite good at bearing pain.

He shrugged. "I got shot." He said that like it was a normal occurence in everyday life.

I slapped his shoulder a bit too hard out of surprise. "Gosh! We need to get back to the hospital to get you treated!"

"It's not that b-"

He stopped talking abruptly when I shot him a death glare. I put his arm over my neck so that I could help him walk more easily. The death glare was effective enough since he didn't protest when I walked him out of the building.

We passed by Seokjin, Detective Do, and Jungkook on our way out. They seemed like they were in an intense discussion that made me curious enough to take a listen.

"Have you checked all the rooms?" Detective Jeon asked, frowning as he scanned around, maybe to search for a person in particular, though I had no idea who that person might be.

Detective Do shook his head. "We looked all over the building and there's no sign of them."

My curiosity made me interfere their serious talk. "Who are you looking for?"

"The boss and Inspector Jung. They are nowhere to be seen," Seokjin answered.

I widened my eyes. "After all of this, we can't just let them go away! They killed my parents! Mine and Taehyung's!"

Baekhyun also protested, "They almost killed us too!"

"Of course we won't let them! I will assign-" Seokjin stopped when his phone rang. He answered without wasting a second after looking the name on the screen. "What is it, Superintendent Oh?" He paused to listen and then he cracked a smile. "Got it."

"What did he say?" Detective Do asked out of curiosity.

"We're going to the hospital," Seokjin said with ease. "We need to rest and treat our wounds."

"But, how about them?" Baekhyun asked, referring to the boss and his right hand.
