A hand gently brushing my hair woke me up the next morning. I realized I'd fallen asleep with my head lying on the bed while still sitting on the chair. I blinked my eyes several times, adjusting to the bright morning sunlight. Lifting my head up, I found Taehyung was staring at me, an amused smile spreading across his face. I would have screamed out of joy if I hadn't realized the most important thing was calling the doctor. Instead of literally jumping around in happiness, I pressed the nurse call button.

"Really? So early in the morning?" Taehyung raised a brow.

Before I managed to answer, a nurse and a doctor stormed inside. I stepped aside to let them examine him. The nurse kept writing something on her notepad while the doctor was babbling things I didn't understand, maybe about Taehyung's condition or vital signs. He also asked Taehyung a few basic questions, such as simple multiplication. After they were done, the doctor faced me with a relieved expression.

"You can rest assured now," the doctor said. "He's recovering well. I was worried that his head injury would damage his brain, but fortunately, I was worried for nothing."

"Thank you, Doctor." I bowed gratefully.

"You too, Miss. I wouldn't have been able to save him if it weren't for your blood transfusion." He turned his head towards Taehyung. "You should be thankful to her, Boy. She saved your life."

"Sure thing." Taehyung grinned and said his gratitude.

The doctor was about to leave the room when he suddenly halted his movement, as if he was reminded of something. He looked toward us again. "Mister Kim, you're allowed to leave the hospital today. Your condition is stable and I'm sure she can tend your wounds. Of course you still have the option to stay here and let us do the job. But, obviously you wouldn't want to." I was wondering why he was so sure before he said the reason himself. "Merry Christmas."

"Merry Christmas. Just don't move around your left arm too much!" the nurse added.

After both of them left the room, Taehyung tried to lift his left arm, being a disobedient kid. He ceased his doing when a little movement caused him to wince in pain.

I sighed. "Will you stop torturing yourself?"

"I just can't contain my curiosity," Taehyung said. "Merry Christmas, Hyerin."

"Merry Christmas to you too, Taehyung. I'm so glad you're okay." I hit his undamaged leg hard.

He yelped. "Ouch. What was that for?"

"Don't ever do that again!" I warned.

"Is this the way you talk to your savior?"

"In case you forgot, I'm also your savior." I was so overwhelmed with my own emotions that my tears started to drop. "You stupid! Don't you know how worried I am? I witnessed your operation! Don't you know how the beep sound haunted me? I was so afraid that you would leave me alone. You're all that I have."

Taehyung was taken aback with my sudden burst of tears. "Come here." He reached his right hand to me, pulling me into a hug. "Sorry to make you worry. I can't stand watching you get hurt. You know that."

I nodded in silent, sobbing with my head buried in his chest. Although the position was very uncomfortable - standing with my body leaning to him - I didn't care. Feeling his warmth was enough to make me feel much better. It's the only thing I needed at the moment. We just stayed still for a few minutes like that. He was carressing my hair gently, calming me down while I was bawling my eyes out. Eventually, I stopped weeping.
